I have been thinking of getting into porn lately....always been my dream lol

I wanted to ask Escorts/Clients if I am doing Porn and later on i decided to get out of it will affect my career in the future... Let's say i have a cooperate job or something like that.

I always try to think for the future - 15 -25 yrs form now... rather than live day by day.

Thanks

Marvin.

Yes, it would seriously affect your future in a corporate job or something like that, or in any profession. At very least it will limit your choices. Some employers want a list of your previous occupations. You would find yourself in a dilemma whether to be honest of lie and hope it never comes out.

However, since you are escorting, you have, in large extent already crossed the Rubicon. The die is cast. If it comes out that you did gay escorting, it will probably not make much difference if you also did porn.

Also some extent it would depend on whether you are "out" publicly or not. If you disclose that you are gay and they hire you, the fact that you did gay porn probably won't make much difference.

It is if you are passing as straight, in a corporate environment, that it will make a difference if you are discovered to be gay, and escorted and did porn.

The only thing that porn changes is that many more people will see you and possibly remember you than escorting. Your image will be on the internet and available for decades. But there are so many guys who have done and are doing porn, that no one can remember everyone. Unless you are outstanding, you may not be all that memorable.

If you decide to do porn you might consider altering you appearance a little, such as blond highlights, mustache, unshaven, longer hair or shorter hair. Later you can change to your preference and have less chance of being recognized and a element of plausible deniability.

If you do porn, you need to be prepared for it to be seen at some point in the future, perhaps when you're not expecting it. I'm not trying to scare you necessarily, just relaying my experience. A few years ago I did several videos, and from time to time I'll run into someone who has seen a clip, and asked if if was me. One gay coworker in my office had been at a sex club and apparently saw an old clip on one of the TVs in the lounge area - totally random. In his case, he was titillated, and wanted to see if I would join him in a group.

It depends on where you are and what kind of job. Here in SF, lots of guys have done porn at some point so it's not the end of the world if word gets out or if one of your gay coworkers accidentally stumbles across it, but you have to be prepared for that and understand that there will at the very least be some whispering going on behind the scenes. However, if you're in a more conservative place and/or industry, it might not go over so well. It's all about the context.

If you've really got a thirst for porn but are concerned about being seen in the future, sometimes studios will have scenes where guys do not show their faces or wear masks. I did a shoot for Treasure Island once with glory holes, and guys that did not want to show their faces could be on the other side of the wall and only show their dicks. Or more recently I was part of a "bystander" crowd in a kink.com shoot where everyone was supposed to be dressed up, and could wear party masks if they wanted.

Another thought is you could do webcam, which is like doing porn but without the evidence being readily available down the road. People you know may still be able to run across you by accident, but at least there won't be a trail of evidence several years down the road. I'll do web cams from time to time, and though it's not much $$ (pocket change at best), it's a thrill if that's your thing.

There is also an assumed link between porn and escorting, so if you're discovered in porn there will be an assumption that you've also escorted and people might want to dig around.

For me porn and escorting has always been a sideline, so I haven't felt I needed to represent it in any type of job history. But if you were applying for a security clearance or something like that, you'd want to think whether or not it is something you'd want to disclose and the ethics involved in that. And of course, no running for public office, but given the political climate these days not being able to hold public office does not seem like too much of a loss!

The reality is that there are now so many porn vidoes that most likley the video you make will get lost 1-2 years after it's made and the chance if it impacting your life in 10-15 years is small. The danger is that the video and the chance of harm in the future will live forever. Also, porn doesn't pay nearly as much as you think unless you make it big in which case the chance of it impacting your life in the future is also very big. It ain't worth it

There is also a website called http://www.Maskurbation.com where mask are worn!

Hey Marvin, just food for thought:

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” ~Mark Twain

Of course, Mark Twain wasn't a gay porn star, um, that we know of anyway! It sounds like you are smart enough to evaluate and weigh the potential consequences and benefits, then make a wise, personal decision on your own. You only live once. Wish you the best.

No one can make that decision for you, but I do know of a couple of relatively young guys who decided to do a few porn movies and have regretted it ever since. They were not prepared to deal with the number of "friends" who saw them and who made life miserable for them at work. One of them quit his job and moved to another country for a few years. I know that is the extreme, but be sure you know what you want to do and want to be 10-15 and 20 years from now. Although society is changing, it changes very slowly and I suspect it will be a long time before corporate american gets to be very accepting of porn stars working in their offices. Just make sure you think out your decision before you move ahead.
