Right, but the difference is...there is still a certain mystery about escorting. Most people still ask me who I usually get with. Its just not the same. I mean, maybe I'd feel more right about it if I continued getting royalties from the movie (not sure if they do that or not) but to make some fast money once for something thats going ot be around forever just doesn't appeal to me. Although, the thought of getting videoed with someone very hot is something nice to keep in my attic

My advice: If in doubt, then don't.

Well I guess it depends on the job you might wan't to take on later. if you wan't to be a school teacher or a police officer-that might be a problem. I think there was even a fast food worker that was fired, because one of the patrons recognized him and complained to the mgmt-now how the customer recognized him without watching the tape I don't know. The real money is in escorting NOT porn. Some guys who hire escorts might be more than a little concerned about setting up an appointment with a porn personality. The flip side is as you have you state that some potential clients are turned on hiring a porn actor.

 

The major problem with porn, as I see it, is that it is a profession of diminishing returns. You are most valuable at the time you make your first video/DVD. From that time on it is all down hill.

 

As far as exposure is concerned I don't really see that as a major problem unless, some day, you want to become a deacon of your local Baptist Church or run for public office. Your cock and face are right out there already., thus making a video wouldn't be that different.

You can make money if you are filming teh movies and writing them. If you are offered $400 to film... keep looking. One of the NYC studios pays that and then expects you to fly your own ass out to NYC, pay for your own lodgings and transportation.

As for promotional things. You can get good promo from being in publications but, you don't need to be a porn model to get in those. Continuing on... some people seek out only porn stars, others don;t think one way or another about it and a third group just won't hire guys who have been in porn. Still another group is the high profile guys who want to keep on the low and quiet... So, walking with a porn star in the airport or on the street and having people follow you and ask for your autograph and touching you is really inappropriate and could out these high profile guys. It;s not always to ones advantage to do porn. If you are one of the few people who make it past the two year hire mark in porn, you have some porn following. Less then that it's kind of a toss up of being worth it.
