Today in Seattle a couple of my friends were nailed for prostitution at a nearby hotel. Luckily I was booked for a job in Portland so even though I had an inquiry from the LE who got my friends, I avoided this particular sting.

My question is if anyone knows of any local forums or boards where male escorts can post notices to warn other local escorts. In Seattle girls have a site called TNABoard.com which is used to screen clients and also post warnings of LE activity. I'm sure there is nothing like this for the guys but I thought I would ask anyway.

Thanks for any input that anyone might have.

Stings and a cop stalker were the reasons I retired. The Kansas City metro area spreads out over 2 states, 5 counties, and dozens of cities and every-other month or so all the law agencies plan a metro-area wide sting and usually bring along the various news video crews. They not only go after the street hookers but hit craigslist, ads in papers, etc. I use to try to move locations on a new client - originally plan to meet in a Missouri hotel but then change to a Kansas hotel thinking if the client didn't want to move he might be a cop and can't go across stateline. Now, however, they have nearly 50 law agencies all working the stings and the entire metro is scoped-out.

So many "less civilized" countries as the United States is supposed to be completely legalized prostitution. Brazil and Spain or just two that come to mind. The citizens of those countries don't appear to be on their way to hell for their outlook on sex.

We will never get America to accept prostitution even though it is the worlds oldest profession.

Is it really all about the bible and religion?

I just ran into a sting operation in Vegas a couple of days ago(Stings occur in Vegas more often than in any other cities in the USA) but I was able to get out of the situation... I called all my escort friends immediately and advised them not to go to that specific hotel on that day. I notified all my escort friends but I obviously did not call everybody on Rentboy. So if you have friends who care for you, they will notify you (if they have a chance). Best way to deal with stings is not to get busted... be smart and if you want to know everything about your local state's laws regarding to solicitation cases I would advise you to be a man, save up $200-250 (which is usually the price of one gig) and go and see an attorney. That gives you comfort and saves you money on spending attorneys in the future, nevetherless you do not have to deal with court in the future either...

I was working in Palm Springs when I received the call from Peter, telling me about the sting...(I was actually HOPING it was about working together!!!...lol).....I APPLAUD Peter for his efforts to let the other guys know about the situation, & I quickly "jumped on the horn" & notified my friends that are "working boys" as well.

CLASSIC example of how sticking together & networking with your fellow colleagues becomes a positive thing.

Thanks Peter (and Miguel)!!!!

Guest Merlin

Earlier this week I hired a young guy from Rentboy in Las Vegas. He seemed overly cautious and I asked him if there had been any reports of stings in LV recently. He said that Rentboy had sent out a warning that stings had been run at the LV Hilton. I had never heard of Rentboy doing this, and the service is not available to clients. But anyone who knows of a sting should report it to Rentboy.

Hi Peter,

If you don't mind me asking how can you run into a sting operation and you were able to get out of the situation? Did you enter the hotel room? I'm just curious how these things operate?

Cheers,

Las Vegas Entrapment

Merlin2, your escort had every right to be cautious. Rentboy did sent a warning about a "Las Vegas entrapment / Police" at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel, but that was back on Saturday, February 6th. I also think that if anyone is aware of a sting operation he should report it to Rentboy. The mass-email will reach a large number of escorts which is the very objective of the warning, the phone call being the fastest and more effective way.

Cheers, Steven ~

Right.... Wish it would be that easy... Quite honestly, Rentboy was very nice to notify all the escorts BUT THEY NOTIFIED US A COUPLE OF DAYS AFTER the sting took place. IT was already over by then so it gave no help whatsoever... Las Vegas stings take place in under ONE NIGHT... there has to be a huge bust when they do 2 days long busts... But that is the maximum length they do a sting at one specific hotel. You are not protected in Las Vegas if you go to a different hotel as stings take place in every single hotel. Reporting it to Rentboy gives no help as by the time they get it, and forward them it will be already over...

Steven, I will be happy to tell you about it over the phone but I am completely booked and with clients until the 28th of August... please feel free to give me a call afterwards!

I thought it was legal in most of NV? I think it is not in Clark county and Reno-but otherwise legal? I guess I assumed they would be easier, since it was legal the rest of the state?

Hello? Las Vegas IS Clark County. An since prostitution is legal in the state, THE COUNTY had to make it illegal. Also, male prostitution has only recently been 'recognized'/legalized.

Nope. State law makes prostitution illegal in counties with populations greater than 400,000 (i.e. Clark county). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostitution_in_Nevada (This is largely to protect the tourism trade, in that the wife doesn't worry about what her husband is up to while at the convention in Vegas.)

Sounds a lot like a credit card I had where they'd send me emails about suspected fraudulent use THREE DAYS LATER.

Email? Three days later? Really?

Compare to the card I use now. I had a crew about to install flooring. While they were on their phone getting the CC charge approved my phone rang and it was the CC company verifying the charge before approving it. THAT is a useful notification system!

Is the glass half full or half empty? With notification as quickly as you suggest, I think they are protecting themselves more than you. After all, most, if not all, credit card companies review and adjust "improper" charges, don't they? I agree what they did will limit the hassle for both of you but not JUST you.

Best regards,

KMEM

I don't think I mentioned anything about who benefited. My point is that notification WHILE IT IS HAPPENING is more useful than notification three days later.
