I honestly don't want to pour fuel on the fire, but I would like to take an opportunity to point something out.

 

With the advent of internet, no one can guarantee one-hundred-percent that a shoot (even one done for personal use only) will remain private. I do the occasional session, mostly commercial but sometimes for individuals. Either way, I'm always upfront and stress to the 'model(s)' the potential risks involved. It's cost me a few jobs, but I'm lucky that photography has always been a hobby, not a living.

 

Oklie, please believe that I'm not in any way having a pop at you, it's only because I feel passionately about this that I'm posting. I had to 'counsel' a young guy, who got outed (not from my work) whose parents got hate mail and subsequently threw him out of their house (he was living at home), he felt he had to quit his job after his workmates found out, and he still currently believes he has wrecked his life. He hasn't of course, but I think it'll be a long haul before he even begins to understand that.

I am also not going to sit here and say I agree with Okie either the 1st no show maybe but the 2nd that would have been the limit I'm inclined to say WTF are you thinking.

I dont come to this MC much for this very reason its better to stay out of the fray but at a certain point you have to take a stand and say take some ownership for your own behavior instead blaming the client.

I am sure TB is a great guy but I see the over inflated ego on both sides of this issue.

OK. I'm in a party mood. This is an interesting story and I appreciate the read.

 

I'm sorry to read that Okie has cancer. Certainly, IMO, a gay man struggling to maintain health and life deserves extra consideration.

 

On the other hand, if I represented escorts, I would never agree to permit private filming unless the fee was substantial, about 50 G substantial, and the "producer" signed my contract. Obviously, people are free to do what they want, and I'm happy for Okie that he finds people to fulfill his fantasies, under his terms. But I'm in the people-as-commodity business and taped performances are around forever. The first question, among a list of many, is what happens to the "product" if and when Okie dies?

 

Personally, I don't think Tristan Baldwin is worth 50 Gs. I have a difficult time getting past the very cheesy porn name. But I understand falling in lust with someone and, thank goodness, to each his own.

 

Frankly, I think taking such financial risk and loss is really careless money management. Maybe if I had cancer, I'd care less about managing money, too. If I had Okie's passion and willingness to invest, I'd become an independent porn producer or hire people willing to help make your fantasies more beneficial, with the hope of at least breaking even. But I do tend to think like a businessman. I can't help it.

 

Escorts who don't communicate well don't get a second email from me. Frankly, I view my time as precious and I refuse to waist it on an inconsiderate player. I love myself too much to let another man treat me poorly. I don't care how much lust I have for the guy. Inconsideration is a REAL TURN OFF. It's the surest way to make my dick go soft. You are correct TB can defend himself. However, it does not excuse him from 1. Not calling to cancel if he had issues. 2. Sending rumors that there is a health issue with lack of testing. How would TB know that Okie was hiring escorts without testing. You can not make accusations like that without proof.

Yes TB can state why he chose not to go to Oklahoma, but it does not excuse poor behavior in not showing up 3 times and never offer to refund the moeny of the ticket. What is the difference between that and Noah Driver's actions. Once yes people make a mistake but you can not agree to come a second and third time for the same reason. It was not illness or some tragic event, TB did not like the set-up. That was clearly stated up front and did not have to accept, cold feet fine but dont you call or at least text to cancel?

Wow. I have very little idea what to make of all of this. It's a knot of confusion. Some folks are defending Mr. Baldwin, some folks are defending Mr. Okliehomo, some folks are ignoring the dust-up altogether and posting happy introductory messages to Mr. Baldwin and a few of our usual suspects are using the thread as a flirtatious/and-or/who's on first? humor op.

 

The only thread of clarity I have from this tangled yarn is this: If Tristan Baldwin is trying to clear his name, he didn't succeed with me. He did achieve the opposite, however. I knew nothing of any of this until he resurrected not one but several old threads. To the extent that I don't do fly-ins (too many things could go wrong even with well-intentioned escorts), this doesn't affect me. And why Mr. Okliehomo would continue to pay for additional plane tickets after the first no-show is simply beyond me. But ...

 

If Mr. Baldwin had been coming through my area, I might have been tempted before this brouhaha to call him up at least and see if we wanted to set an appointment. Now, there are too many red flags raised by Mr. Baldwin himself (the name changing for one). So his postings of the past 24 hours have had the opposite effect he had presumably hoped for on someone who had no dog in the fight. At this stage, I probably wouldn't even book a one-hour, pay-when-you're-done appointment in the same city because of the vibe I'm getting from all these resurrected posts.
