You're assuming that your clients want something different than what you have. You can gain & tone, but that's not as big a part of our purchase fascination as a professional look, albeit 'underweight'. I'd say let the professional photos begin. Sometimes seeing older photos next to fresh ones gives us an idea of where you've come from and what you're becoming, especially the younger guys.

That has to happen. Figure out cab rates for the general area and include that in your fee. Then say the fee is for a certain geo region and additional fee for greater travel.

I have had a lot of success from rentboy, rentmen, and m4rn and of course guys that read the reviews on daddysreviews. I agree, rentboy has been around for the longest and will have more guys accessing that website for escorts, however it is not cheap if you are starting off, and depending on your location if you are in nyc there are over 300 guys listed there at any one time. I prefer rentmen as they allow you to have videos of your work and video interviews, which I just did one that has yet to post, but right now they are pretty new and not as big a client base. For me, I get most of my clients however from m4rn as they have a larger client base than rentmen but slightly less than rentboy, but they are not cheap either, but worth it in the long run, and a lot of my clients leave reviews for me on there. I also post rentboy ads when traveling to other cities but have not had much luck with them in atlanta which is my home base, but if I am traveling to say miami, los angeles, chicago, key west, las vegas or new orleans that is the place to advertise...and a few clients from hourboy but again they do not have the client base that say a rentboy or m4rn may have. I tried adam4adam when I was first starting and agree it is more of a hookup free site than geared toward an escort site. As far as the price goes, go with your gut. In this economy I have reduced my prices to keep more in the groove with what clients can afford and I don't try to overprice as a lot of my clients tend to repeat often and so it all works out just great for everyone as I always try to give the best service I can to all of my clients. Thank you to everyone who has replied here, it's really overwhelming guys but I'm taking it all in and applying it to everything I do now. I'll be taking professional photos tomorrow and just figuring more things out from there. I will definatley be in touch with this forum and updating my profile! Also you might want to check out Backpage, no one has mentioned yet. It's a compromise between CL and the big 3 (rb,m4rn,rm), been growing a lot lately, and I've met a couple of great new guys on the LA site. I'm mostly a CL fan, (better for non-pros doing part-time) but have hired off the big 3 as well - m4rn being my favorite, Rb is usually more upscale than I can afford while hiring weekly. I have hired off a4a as well and find it great for mixed-ethnicity guys, but YMMV.

I have to disagree. He can save that info for his ad. To mention his fantasies, fetishes, etc to people who 'may not even hire' is in essence giving it away for free. As this is a public forum and things remained archived for decades to come, while simply having a link to an ad or blog would be more discreet.

 

Most AfricanAmerican, and Hispanic escorts like to wear facial hair, mustaches and/or beards, and many have heavy body hair. Some clients like this. But I believe that most clients prefer the clean cut look, and notice that most white men do not wear facial hair. Notice that many escorts and porn stars shave their body hair, including the groin and ass. I think you will do better if you are clean cut and advertise the shaving of body hair. Some here will disagree, but this forum is only a tiny group.

I hope you do not take offense at any of this as it is intended to be constructive.

 

Ok, now Im just about to get mad...that is horrible advice, and I hope OP does not take that to heart. I dont like when people make sweeping generalizations like that. That is so untrue. And how can you even compare him to the White escorts? Clean shaven? Everyone has their different looks. I for one, look awful without my mustache. In addition, I get countless number of clients who specifically tell me NOT to shave my body hair...and it even promotes them to see me. Because they know so many guys shave, and its hard for them to find anyone who isn't. I create a double niche for myself by simply keeping, and many black guys are not able to grow chest/torso hair, and the ones who do usually razor it off anyway...so to actually have is an even bigger plus. If I ever showed up without it, they'd still see me, but they'd be upset. Even the 'upscale' clients which according to you like the 'pubescent' look, which is false.

 

Id suggest a price change. you have 300 listed as a over night, 200 a weekend. higher prices will raise the odds of better quality clients. Oh in the thread you say 18, Id mention being 18 someplace in the text of the ad.

 

Yeah, it certainly 'pays' to have a higher price. But..I applaud him for atleast listing his price, which according to this forum scares off many clients as they feel they have to bargain. You can set your price however, but the general assesement is to list it somewhere along the lines of other guys in your area. But even then, thats just a general guideline. Small town Will may have 1,000 bucks to spend, when big city Willy may only want to spend 50 bucks. Which is why its important to not generalize any specific area.
