Sorry

Did we really have to overwork staff by creating an additional thread on the same subject :p Its not like tons of escorts are posting answers in this section....

Hmmmm.....my 2nd posting and I've already screwed up.

Yes - I saw your posting today that discussed YOUR gypsy lifestyle. But in my review of ALL the threads in this Ask an Escort forum - back to the 2002 beginning - I did not come across a thread that discussed advantages and disadvantages of gypsy vs home base careers. Obviously I missed something.

My bad - I'll try harder.

Let this posting die.

Welcome rowdy. I have sent you a private message. Hope you stay around long enough to figure out whose posts are worth ignoring. As a client, I don't have any personal information in regard to answering your question. I hope that some escorts will offer their insights for you.

I agree with PK your post is very different. the client looking at the choice versus the escort considering the move have a very different appeal. I dont think you should let your post die or that you screwed up. So keep em coming and yes I hope escorts choose to let you in on their secrets on this too

Keeping it alive...

I thought it was an interesting question as welll... and especially regarding escorts who are not based in "big market cities" as their home base. I always find it interesting to get inside the working mind of the working guy... and on a variety of levels ... and a variety of subjects...

I wish more escorts would have the guts to respond as very often the clients have to chime in with their perceptions and suppositions about their favorite workers...

My Motivation

I am a new client. But I will not be a very lucrative one to the escorts. I have time to research - but I don't have the asset resources to enjoy except on a limited basis .

I am also very curious.

I spent a couple of weeks before joining this forum reading the previously posted threads - I looked at every single headline in the Escorting section (64 pages). In most cases I dug down through most, if not all, of the various thread postings. I found lots of great information trying to satisfy my curiosity. Most of my questions were answered. But in some cases it was a little snippet in a thread post in one place and another snippet in an unrelated posting that answered my curiosity.

I have about a half-dozen or so questions that I am still curious about - which I will get to over time. My motivation is to try to help the next new curious client (or prospective escort) in his research.

In my short time lurking around I have come to especially appreciate the postings by some escorts and clients. JoeyBryant is on that list. I appreciate the comments, candor - and criticism.

Hi there not2rowdy!

I think your question is a fantastic one.

If I was a client, I would be very interested to know why some escorts travel, why some do not and what it entails for them in term of their life.

I do travel!

Here are my cons:

*Away from family and friends a lot.

*Can make personal relationships hard to maintain in terms of intimacy (but not impossible!)

*Damage to my luggage! :)

In all honesty, those really are my cons!

I love my traveling.

Here are my pros: (Not in any particular order)

*Living in and experiencing different parts of the country

*Meeting all sorts of people in so many different contexts.

*Racking up MAJOR frequent flier miles

*Building friendships and relationships in different cities is very exciting and rewarding.

You definitely have to be in the right 'frame of mind' to travel a lot like I do. I can see how it would not be for everyone. If you were in school, in a relationship, had another business or career paralleling your escorting...then traveling a lot, especially for extended periods would not be possible.

I am loving this part of my life right now.

Granted, everyone's experiences when they travel for their escorting are going to be so varied. My experiences have been and continue to be amazing and rewarding.

I love how there are cities in this country that I now know SO well. For me it is very exciting to spend extended periods of time across the country. I love the places that I have found to go for my runs and the people I have met through daily life that I keep in contact with, and then see again when I am in their city.

It doesn't even have to be expensive.

With proper and planned research, airline tickets and lodging DO NOT have to cost a lot.

For example, my current trip in Atlanta I am staying in a place that I found an AMAZING rate for. I always tell people that when you travel, if you can find a wonderful place for one hundred dollars or less a night than you have DONE VERY WELL!

I also stay in places that have kitchens and laundry. That is key!

Options for places like this are renting someones condo, apartment or house out for short term rental or even find an extended stay hotel.

What I would NOT suggest for long stays somewhere, is checking into a regular hotel. For a few days fine...but for several weeks to a month...no way!

Again, I will go back to the biggest con...and that is loss of time with anyone in your life that has meaning to you at 'home'.

I am making certain sacrifices in that respect, but you know what?

For me anyway, it is working out and the term 'absence makes the heart grow fonder" has a STRONG element of truth to it :)

HUGS to you not2rowdy and REMEMBER!....this forum is provided to us by Daddy to ASK QUESTIONS, TO LEARN, TO SHARE, TO HAVE FUN!

So!

Ask away and/or contribute away...but NEVER apologize for doing so!

Your post could have been copied and pasted directly to the original one I posted; but no worries, indirect advice is still advice :)

I was being facetious, but only to the extent because it seems lately that every question asked in the ask an escort section is responded to by 12 clients versus 1 or 2 escorts. I would not have cited you for hi-jacking by asking a question in my other thread.

Of course, we all can do as we please...Im not coercing anyone to post or not post. Who the hell am I?

Anyhow...back on topic. Since you asked, I might as well say what I feel the pros and cons are:

traveling: Pretty obvious, as it gets you out the house, and in sight of a new market. Especially, for those who live in small cities...or large cities that have a saturated escort market. For example, I lived in 1 city for nearly 2years...and after my last visit, I refuse to visit/advertise again unless I have a planned appointment. It seems like I've met everyone there is to meet, and a new escort pops up every 45 minutes. Its also risky to travel. There have been 2 times I went places and left empty handed. But that hasn't happened in nearly a year.

staying home: You get to work a regular 9-5 job in addition to this (unless, like me you're independent contractor or a traveling salesman in another field with your own hours). Which probably means more financial security. But the drawback to that is, you cant travel. No 9-5 job I know ever let you miss more than 2 days in a row unless somebodies dying.

The cons of each are intermingled in the pros. Personally, I dont believe in staying in 1 place regardless. My nomad sense goes off by the 3rd month...in which I MUST go on vacation or I'll go crazy (surprisingly, that didn't exist til I moved to Texas, go figure LOL).

Well, apparently he likes mine so doubt he'll be ignoring those ;)

I wish more escorts would have the guts to respond..

It could be different reasons as to why. Not necessarily fear of responding. Some probably don't like the idea of 'assisting the competition' in any way. Or may not be prepared to deal with debating if they say something wrong. Or just dont want to share their business.

Of course, I don't exactly consider this section the bread and butter of advice...I'll find out if I really need to find out. Believe that...
