I am going to try and phrase this so it comes across as sincere and not shallow.

 

Recently I have been traveling more and therefore have had more opportunities to hire especially in NYC, Philly and DC.

 

I have noticed on many of the sites that there are a good number of escorts that post ads without face pictures. Now, while I am fully aware of escorts holding other jobs or the need for discretion, I have trouble hiring an escort without seeing his face.

 

I am curious to know if this is a similar problem with others who hire?

 

I recently hired this stunning guy in NYC who had the body of an adonis but when he arrived he had the face of Shrek and it was problematic for me.

 

I have even tried to ask an escort, once we have established an emmail rapport, to send me a face picture...some do but most do not.

 

So, do escorts who show their face get more business? Is it a hinderance when it is only a body shot?

Showing ones face is a personal decision and one that should not be taken lightly because it truly puts you out in the open light not only while traveling but also to those in the escorts home location as well. Having said that, when I first started escorting I refused to show my face for various reasons though as I became more comfortable with not only myself but also my chosen profession (escorting) I opted to reveal a series of facial shots.

 

Does it bring in more business for escorts? I would say yes and no. Some clients will not hire an escort without a face shot but on the other end of the spectrum other clients will not hire escorts who do show their face. That's a hard one to deal with as a professional to strike a balance and please the majority. By nature, I'm a very curious guy and would inquire with a number of clients on their position for hiring with or without a face shot and the conclusions were pretty black and white.

 

I can certainly appreciate how it would be frustrating when you ask a professional for his face picture and while some comply, others do not. Are you asking escorts who already have face shot(s) posted or are these escorts who don't post a face shot? Depending on your answer, that would bring lot of clarity to your initial question.

 

As an example, I'm often asked for additional face and body pictures other than the current inventory that I have posted in my various profiles spread between 3 sites plus this forum. Unfortunately, I do not comply with the request because there is already sufficient picture with face and body material posted.

 

Again, striking that balance is difficult to do on both sides of the fence.

 

Possible resolution? Have half your pictures head/faceless and the other half with ones head/face plus a sexy pose?

I think your response to such a request is absolutely appropriate. You give ample evidence of your appearance (and attributes:p), if one takes the time to peruse your sites, as anyone serious about hiring you should do. These people are more likely to be "collectors" rather than prospective clients.

 

A face picture is not a necessity for me because I do my "research" and thoroughly check reviews before even contacting a prospective gentleman. The reviews usually make some reference to the face, especially if the escort does not publish face photos. A perfect example comes to mind - Dane Scott. If you're not enamored of that face with the sparkling eyes after meeting him ...

 

At the same time, seeing your face is just an added incentive to meet with you (Yummm!).

A face picture will influence my decision to hire, but the lack of one does not necessarily preclude my hiring that escort. Input to my decision to hire is a series of things, such as reviews, the currency of the escorts photographs and their appeal, the date the escort last updated their posting, comments made in the message center etc. Also I feel that if the escort is willing to take a chance on me without the benefit of a picture then maybe I should take the same chance.

Generally I find it hard to hire without seeing a face pic. I have hired without but it does make me somewhat nervous....No bad experiences yet however. I am crazy about the smile and eyes.

 

I find that the videos on Rentmen which introduce the escort are great in getting a good feel for the anima which lies beneath the exterior. That is usually what I want to hire. Sean Knight is a great example of this...His pics, with his face show a very serious guy yet the minute you meet him, his smile and exhuberance are what attract you and what you remember.

for reasons of discretion, i don’t show my face. never had, and probably never will. i do explain, if asked for a face pic, that i have kids, and at that point most people understand. if they still don't get it, i explain to them that showing my face would jeopardize my custody and i am not willing to do that. from the amount of times i've been asked for a face pic, i would guess that at least 80% of those people still end up hiring me.

I started hiring in the 1970s based on Advocate pink pages classified that rarely included photographs. In those days, most hiring from ads was based solely on minimalist descriptions. While I enjoy seeing faces, as well as full front and backside, they are not necessarily essential. For example, my conversations with Dave before I first met him put me entirely at ease, and I must say I have had several good times with him, and for those of you who have not met him, he is indeed handsome! Some Random Thoughts on the Face Picture Issue

 

1. As several posts have mentioned, one option is for the escort to send a face picture (maybe with some strategic lighting) to clients who request them by email. Another option is provided by Rentboy: provide discreet face picture(s) in the private gallery and provide the code word to guys who sound like serious clients. These options might be attractive to an escort who wants discretion but is willing to take some risks with his face picture gaining circulation. (So IMHO this would not be a good option for Rockin' Dave. His solution is a good one too: provide pictures of parts of the face. I like that.)

 

2. For those of us who are really into kissing, a face picture is usually important, and more important than for those of us who are not into kissing, necking, etc. For the kissers, a picture of the lower face (jaw, lips, teeth, lower nose) might be useful. At least one lower face picture where the guy is smiling, for it shows off the teeth better.

 

3. Personally, I like to see a face picture, and I do not mind if it is partially obscured. But it is not a dealbreaker, especially if the escort is well-reviewed on this website.
