I have traveled a lot to meet clients(they covered traveling expenses) and it always went well-:)

Now, i am thinking of traveling to two cities (one is DC) this summer to meet clients. My question is how does it work from the Business aspect...when i add the airfare+hotel - just don't want to come back home breaking even or less-:(

i worry about cancellation/no show...

Any ideas? though? i appreciate all the replies:) Great Community here!!

Thank You

Marvin in Dallas :D

First I would definitely post this question In the ask an escort section. Im sure many of the travelers would be glad to give you there tips. We clients see less of this side but ill tell you what I have heard.

Book air at least two weeks in advance and make sure your travel plans are posted on whatever sites you use. We here in the NY area favor rentboy but I understand that is different in different markets. So what ad works at hone may not be the same in travel city

Perhaps try to have an "anchor client" in the city. One who you know will book an overnight to make sure your expenses are covered and the rest is gravy

Shop your hotel last minute on priceline with the name your own price there are whole threads on this here on the forum

Consider a two or three city swing. Fly to DC train to Philly train to NYC even train to Boston then fly home. As a northeast example

Book a central hotel but dont go crazy. 3 star should be good unless you cater to an extremely wealthy clientele. Why pay Waldorf prices when the Marriott does the trick

Maybe check with escorts in the city to see if they would rent out a room or swap apt with you. But this is more advanced than a first trip

Post here regularly and get to know some of us posters in the city your traveling too. You nay find that two of us act as your anchor

Just my thoughts hope it helps but certainly check the ask an escort section

I second what NYTomCat said about the trains. When I go to Chicago I've made two different stops in Milwaukee and one in St. Louis and I've taken the train and *gasp* Mega Bus vs either renting a car or flying in between the three cities. If you are traveling to different cities hotels can eat up a good portion of your budget. USE PRICELINE NAME YOUR OWN PRICE!!!!!! Some escorts and maybe even clients might poo poo the idea but this is a business trip and you must keep costs down. Although not the big east coast cities I have used PL a lot lately when I've traveled either for work or on my own and nine times out of ten I have saved half of what the cheapest rate was posted on the hotel website and blew the prices of the travel sites out of the water. Don't bid less then 3 star on PL and don't worry about the horror stories that some might have because I don't think that hotels intentionally put one in the worst rooms. Go to http://www.biddingfortravel.com to get a feel of what others are getting in the same areas that you are looking at staying and I'd suggest to bid at or around the same price. More times then not in my experience you'll get it for about the same prices as others have won. Good luck on your travels and remember have fun :)

Hugs,

Greg

Hey Marvin,

I have to confess that I am not much of a "travel on your own" kind of guy. My main thing is traveling with clients and I much prefer doing this for all sorts of reasons; the bond is more fulfilling, the experience tends to be much closer and you get to know each other much better and of course, financially it works much better for me. I am not very fond of having to focus on the bottom line when being with my clients. I find that doing so detracts from my attention on the connection and the fun.

(I would be so happy if someone could take care of all the arrangements always and all I had to do is arrive ready, horny and willing and leave exhausted and smiling.)

I have, however travelled on my own a couple times, mainly to cities that I know well and that I am fond of, so I would agree with most of what NYTomcat has to say. Perhaps I would add that it helps it if in your ad you mention that you enjoy and give preference to long appointments. Having an evening session is much better than having to have four hour appointments to cover your expenses. (Unless, of course, you don't like longer sessions.)

As a rule, I would never do a trip on my own unless I have at least one very good confirmed appointment with a very well known client in the destination.

In the end, I would also recommend you to do this kind of trip only if you have in your own savings enough money to cover all your expenses and you would be okay with having to pay everything from your own pocket. It is possible, and it has happened to almost every traveling escort that I know, that sometimes absolutely nothing works out, not a single client shows up and you end up paying for everything, which would be okay if you have the money. If you don't have the money and you were hoping to pay for everything with the money you earn there, then you would be in a terrible situation and would be forced to do things that normally you would not consider doing.

The whole point in this profession to ensure that you stay healthy and thriving is to always do it from a position of power. Feeling healthy, confident, clear about your boundaries and knowing that you have safety are some of the things that help keeping a clear head.

Wish you all the best in your trips, with company or without it.

A big hug!

Always hard and warm,

Juan

Although it makes sense to use a bit of caution on going on such trips solo or making sure to have 1 client confirmed...everyone is different. Personally, I'd go to friggin Bangkok if I felt like it, even if it is just me and no confirmed bookings. Because I know the moment I step into the hotel room, its on...As long as I have ads up everywhere something should come up. Unless its just a dead city with nothing going on...which has happened.

I haven't found a traveling buddy yet, and after the last guy who I invited along with me...might be keeping it that way. He kept wondering why I was so agitated while he was there, it was just I wasn't used to bringing someone along and having to 'worry' about them. May have been better if he was a bit more independent...but seems like many independent, established escorts don't usually travel with anyone else. I dont blame them....I don't blame me.

And kudos to Greg...but don't be giving our priceline secrets away LOL.

LOL for a longtime I wasn't a fan of being charged & then finding out where I was staying. But so far I've been I don't know lucky with what I was givin. One of the best places was in St. Louis at a Marroit Courtyard. Just a few blocks away was a killer bbq place & at thehotel they had laundry machines, a pool & an epresso bar that had sammies, soup & other quick bites.

Greg

Well, I'd think those would be standard for most hotels; pool, laundry, wet bar..but I know it can vary from city to city. But I can say priceline/Hotwire has never stuck me in a dump, even 1 star hotels can be pretty comfortable. So far I've found Dallas to be the best quality of hotels I've gotten from bidding sites so far. (did I just say something good about Dallas?) ;)

Greg said the hotel had laundry machines.

In my experience, those things (laundry machines) and such are not standard for most hotels. Sure, at most hotels you can have the hotel "do" your laundry but most hotels do not have laundry machines available for guests to use.

In my experience, I've come across quite a few hotels with laundry machines. Which is why I always bring little packs of detergent and fabric softener just in case. Its called guest laundry. Standard may have been an overstatement.

However, once you get into 3 and 4 stars, the hotels become less giving in terms of offering things like complimentary breakfast and guest laundry. I usually have to decide whether I want a nice view or free breakfast with a fridge/microwave. You have to go to level 5 to get all 3.

The way I've always looked at travel for Business is to go to cities/places I would be traveling to anyway. That way if I don't see as many clients as I would have liked, I still had a nice trip.

For example, living in New York I travel often to DC and Philadelphia, because I have friends there. I go to New Orleans a lot to visit family. And then I put an ad up for my two vacations per year.

I've always though it was too big of a risk to go to a city just for business, so this has worked well for me.
