Trust, but verify

But then again, this entire site really has to run on trust, and we all have to keep in mind that lots of what people say about the actual escort sessions they have had is filtered through their own perceptions, and two people taking part in the same event can come away with startlingly different impressions of what happened.

Well said!

I think most regular readers have a sense for the occasional spurious review.

And while previous experiences by someone else are no guarantee of a successful encounter, they provide valuable input or making an informed decision.

And then, to quote our friedn from Brooklyn...ASK THE ESCORT.

As I've posted here for years, I don't write reviews and I generally don't read the reviews (unless something posted here causes me to go look up a particular review). I think the process is easily manipulated and fraught with other potential problems that are shared with other kinds of review sites. Those include the ability of providers (escorts, hotels, restaurants) to manipulate the review process, the ability of competitors to manipulate the review process, and the ability of clients to manipulate the review process. Not only that, what one client thinks is a great time will be disappointing to another and reviews are often written in superlatives that disguises the truth of the matter. Other reviewers reasonably don't want to share the gory details but then one wonders why even post a review. And then there is the A-B-C problem: escort A may interact very well with client B, who is a nice guy and has a great time with A and writes a review. Client C hires A and there's no shared chemistry between them and C thinks A sucks, in the bad sense of the word.

Having said all of that, I don't believe that it's true that "it doesn't matter to management if it's fake." Daddy -- and HB before him -- try hard to keep the process honest. Whether or not there are false reviews in the database (as I believe that there are), I don't think that is the result of any lack of integrity on the part of the site's management. Quite the contrary: if they didn't care, there'd likely be more reviews and many more questionable reviews.

And I do think that there's one thing that the reviews do accomplish, all of their faults notwithstanding, and it's a very valuable service: an escort who has accumulated a number of reviews over time is quite unlikely to be a police officer. ;)

Consider how most publications establish the bona fides of a review: they hire someone with expertise in the subject to experience the performance and write the review. If Daddy is interested, I would modestly suggest that I would be a good candidate for the job, and I am presently at loose ends (no double entendre intended).

You tell'em DADDY! IF that was the case ..The word would be out and we would have probably 20 Bogus FREE ADVERTISEMENT Reviews a day around here!

With the Economy the way it is many "Working Guys" definitely have the Time to work on their Portfolio's!

We Rarely get a ChelseaGuys NYC Review around here..BUT the FABIO Review Today Weds reads like just another Porno Script!

BUT is it a Fake? That's left up to the Readers who may do some "Wishful Thinking" going by his Pix's! BUT I Personally would not want a reminder MY DIME IS UP by an Agency!

I have written over 40 reviews for this and its original creation at HooBoy over my 8 years of hiring. I use to enjoy writing them. I have only written one review this year and it was my first and only negative review.

I am not sure I will ever write a review again, not because I dont believe in the site and its value but I do disagree with how a response from a gentleman was handled at the beginning of this year. That was Daddy's perogative and fine with me but I dont have to participate in the process either.

I have been asked several times to write a review and even by well known popular gentlemen. It was not a problem as I enjoyed doing it. I was never offered any discount or preferred treatment to do so. I have never lied in any review I have written and would stand behind everyone of them. Do I regret any reviews, no even looking back those were all good times. Have I had some great outings this year, you bet. Will I write about them I doubt it. They were my experiences for my tastes.

Have there been a few tainted reviews I would tend to believe there has been. I am not sure the destroys the integrity of the site, I mean how much time is management to spend in hunting down sources.

Sometimes things happen and we like to jump to conclusions and think this whole site is cohoots with who I dont know, but some sinsiter sources, some may think. Yes rather ridiculous. So this thread was started I suspect just create conversation, it what can be a very dull forum at times. We need to avoid making generalizations where I think most people who participate here actually are here with honest intentions.

I generally believe most reviews as posted but experience has taught me that regardless who posts the review, the event as it took place may work for one but not for another. Just because an outing works for the reviewer does not mean it will work for you and because you had a rotten time does it mean the reviewer was a liar, no, just means what works for one does not work for another. We all have different tastes.

Perhaps it would be advantageous that all first time reviewers basically get thrown out and they have to wait a month before submitting a second one. From there their reviews get published, but not for the escort they initially wrote a review for unless maybe a year later? Just an idea. It would also be great that reviews already published by first time reviewers are collapsed or hidden so the most reputable reviews are visible. Then the potential client can choose whether to read the possible fake reviews if they so choose. Just an idea or two. I would also like to see a hotlink connecting the Reviewer's name with all the reviews they've written so to see if they have a pattern of maliciousness or objectiveness.

I appreciate that you're trying to think outside the box, but I doubt we'd get any new reviewers if they knew their first review was going to be trashed. It does take some effort to write a review - especially if you're trying to do justice to both the escort & the audience. As long as they are identified as 'first time reviewers', we can each make our indiividual decision regarding how much weight to give them.

I like your idea of being able to find a reviewer's previous work.In the past, the review form asked for the names of your previous reviews. A search function that can be limited to the reviews might be a simpler solution.

Raul Manzo created just such a resource, but it doesn't seem to be functioning now. http://www.companyofmen.org/showthread.php?57992-Updated-reviewer-index

How many think (some) reviews are just simply made-up, pure fantasy, to help the escort?

In looking around through various threads (not reviews), it has become apparent...

Take away the ads that masguerade as reviews and those where the reviewer, possibly in collaboration with the escort, embellish their review to simply provide a marketing tool for a favorite escort, I figure about half are genuine reviews.

Well, these are easy to spot. :D

It's unfortunate that we lost such valuable posters and reviewers such as KY-TOP and SilverDollar, just to name a few ...

Google will do it for you!

Regarding researching reviews by specific reviewers, it can easily be done by doing a advanced google search whereby the domain www.daddysreviews.com is specifically searched... that is by using the SEARCH WITH IN A SITE OR DOMAIN feature.

All one needs to do is enter the reviewer's name and all his reviews will pop up...

BINGO!

Silver Dollar

Where did Silver Dollar go Steven?

Hey Ty. One of the most Experienced & Respected Reviewers ALWAYS to the point in his Reviews..."Silver Dollar" pops up every once in awhile.

After all the "Superfluous Threads" that have shown up in the last 6 months around here I can see why.

He's definitely liked by the "Working Guys" and there are many who feel.. A Working Guy should be SEEN and not Constantly heard from. ;)
