There is an escort I have seen advertising on RB recently. He used to advertise years ago, then he stopped--but over the last year I have seen his ad more frequently. He uses a different name now than when he originally escorted. Right before he originally stopped, he revealed that he was positive. His current ads make no mention of it--and under practices he lists "sometimes safe". Now I know the wisdom of treating every encounter client, escort, or personal as if they are positive. It still seems dishonest to me that the escort is not current admitting his status when brave people like Greg do. And yes I know there are escorts and clients out there who never admit their status but still...

I guess it comes out to their choice. But I think it is better that at least they admit sometimes safe as opposed to saying always safe and then not being safe with clients in private.

There is an escort in LA that advertises bareback. Very good looking and muscular. I appreciate that-at least he is upfront. Now I always use a condom, so won't be hiring him, but at least he is honest. Maybe there is a market for that?

G, there might be a chance that although he doesn't mention his status in his profile he does mention it when a client first contacts him. I had a profile on RentMen for a while and removed that I was positive. I did so because I wanted someone to see ME first as a person and not someone who is positive first. But I always made sure that in my reply email to a client I mentioned that I was positive and made sure to get a response that they were ok with my status if we decided to meet.

Hugs,

Greg

I don't think that Rentboy asks if they are positivie or negative, although, not being an escort, I have never read their questions. If they do not ask, it is not dishonest not to reveal it in their ad. I agree that they should do it, but it is not dishonest if they are not asked.

If he says, "sometimes safe", he is revealing enough to alert most clients. Other escorts sometimes say things like, "anything goes", "few limits", "just ask" etc, which, depending on the context seem to indicate a willingness to bareback.

I think Rentboy should ask, but then they would need to advise readers not to rely on the response, and might in any event be sued by someone who relied on a negative response. Alternatively, Rentboy could ask the question and only reveal the positive responses.

I think there is definitely a market for bareback!

I spoke once with a porn star who supported himself thru porn, and he openly admitted he did bareback escorting, and that alone, made him really busy. Many clients had never seen his porn, but noticed he was a barebacker. Also, I think there is a belief that if you're a top, you can't become infected with any sexually transmitted disease, which is not true.

Having had the unpleasant experience of putting myself at high-risk (rough sex of receptive anal intercourse with ejaculation by a bipolar druggie and escort) on two sepaerate occasions, i will never put myself at risk again, or go through that anxiety ever again.

I actually seeked out a doctor who prescibes PEP, which basically is a combination of medication that is suposed to block HIV infection if taken i nthe firsrt 24 hours. The PEP therapy costs about $1000 without insurance.

Anyways, if you're HIV-negative and want to stay that way, then it is just not worth putting your precious health at risk.

I took HIV meds for 30days , on two seperate occasions as part of PEP, and it is not a picnic. My heart goes out to people living with HIV. I was so lucky not to be infected.
