Quick question: LA bars similar to Numbers

Just a quick hello to everybody.

New here but had a quick question: I advertise on Rentboy and logically assume there are a limited number of "hobbyist" in the Los Angeles area. Once the aforementioned has been exhausted, so has my source of supplemental income lol.

I was looking for a place similar to Numbers where it would be socially acceptable to, ahem, advertise.

I was contemplating going to numbers but hey, if I'm going to be a *****, I don't want to be a streetwalker.

I am on Rentboy but not sure where else to advertise and may plan a trip to New York, just not sure if it's viable.

I do seem to remember that there is another escort bar in LA, named the Spotlight or something like that. I have never been there, but maybe some LA guys can fill us in.

The Spotlight is pretty trashy, but it's been there a long time so something must be working. I haven't been there in 20 years, but it's primarily street hustlers if I recall. A much different cliental than the now defunct Numbers. Also in a much seedier neighborhood. My guess is it's where the tweakers go.

Yikes, I try not to dip my toes is cesspools haha. LA is a big city but a small town and reputation is social currency.

Personal taining is how I feed myself and I can think of no greater social scarlett letter than being seen in a seedy neighborhood at seedy hours (nothing against seedy places or seedy hours or hey, even seedy neighborhoods (lol) but it would just weird out my personal training clientel who are a proudly pretentious lot and profoundly upscale lol)

I am ultra discreet on Rentboy and I think I make the guys jump through too many hoops to just to see a simple face pic but...

My philosophy for this is:

I would logically assume that there are men in my gym(s) that may troll RB. Now suppose just one of them stumbles across a familiar face. That's just too juicy to keep to one's self knowing human nature. Once my conservative clientel gets wind of this they drop me immediately. The gym staff finds out and I am pointed at, giggled at, emasculated and forced to sleep in the backseat of my car which smells like a gym locker.

Why would your supply become exhausted? Don't you get repeats?

 

You'll CERTAINLY exhaust your client pool if you're not getting repeats for whatever reason. What reason would that be?

I've never been in The Spotlight bar, and I haven't read any references to it in a long time. I'm not even sure if it's still there. If it's where I think it is/was - Cahuenga near Sunset - I think that neighborhood has been on the upswing lately. Lots of trendy little coffee houses, close to Amoeba Records, a Chan Dara Thai restaurant, etc. etc.

I initially posted on RB because I am a money ***** lol. 2 years ago, I was doing so well that I moved into a 2 bedroom (prior to escorting, trailer trash was a demographic category that I aspired to), allowed my personal training to become a marginal source of my total income, returned to school (almost finished, will have my Baccalaureate in December), bought 2 very phallic cars, and just last month, finally, started to struggle a bit.

My regulars were my primary source of income instead of the intended supplemental.

My first year escorting I was a nervous friggin' wreck. I kept thinking LAPD vice was so utterly bored as to proactively troll on line brothels hoping to roll the dice and arrest a lowly male hooker like myself lol so, admittedly, my clients for my entire first year found a stuttering mess of a man plus, I hadn't quite been comfortable that I am probably bi (I had clients that I would have paid for haha).

I am always willing to diversify (i.e. work wise) however, I'm a bit of a work-a-holic but simply not very efficient about making small amounts of money vis a vis escorting which allows larger amounts for a little time and a lot of fun (most of the time lol).

Here is some constructive advice. Your photos have been around awhile. One is an obvious contest photo, but we all know that bodybuilders diet down etc for a contest. When you use the same photos for too long clients assume that they are old and do not show your present condition.

So, I suggest you get at least one and preferably more recent shots. If they look good, I believe your business will pick up. I realize you don't want your full photo on the site, so I suggest one head shot, and several body shots.

Sorry for the confusion, it means "heavyweight". I wish I had this attitude (the comfortable in my own skin attitude lol) in my year one.

I anticipated either arrest or the ghost of Dhamer with every new client. Usually I was such a wreck that I was a stuttering incoherent mess of a human. I was so conditioned to flaking (inherent in this sort of thing) that I would wear cruddy gym clothes and smelly gym socks (usually some clients want NOW and NOW had me bailing from the gym for impromptu "lunches" but again, I was a money ***** haha).

I second the recommendation to contact Dave at mantomanescorts in LA....I just used his agency about three weeks ago with great success....and Dave was very easy-going and friendly in my emails and phone calls....he may ask for a face picture from you to show to serious clients after their initial inquiries....

Hey man - I've thought about calling on you several times. But the thing is, I've been burned by several straight guys who say that they're into everything and then end up collecting the money first before starting a one sided muscle worship. Nothing wrong with that, but when you're looking for something different, it pretty much sucks.

Here's the deal with a lot of the straight and so called straight and bi playful guys. LA is the city that invented reinvention and many of us come out here, give it our best and fail miserably lol.
