Even though meeting escorts is usually fun and rewarding, here is an article about what could go wrong.

http://www.knx1070.com/Man-Accused-of-Robbing-Gay-Men-he-Met-Online-to-Ap/6838220

The guy, "admitted to investigators he committed as many as three crimes a night, police and prosecutors said."

"Angel Pena Ayala, 24, of Los Angeles, who allegedly targeted gay men looking for dates, also was charged with a similar crime in West Hollywood that involved another victim he met on the Internet, authorities said."

"Police suspect there might be many more victims who have never come forward to say what happened to them because of the nature of the crime."

"If there's more victims, maybe they will feel more comfortable coming forward," Hermosa Beach police Sgt. Robert Higgins said."

Definitely, not a pretty picture.

Exactly as Mark notes: The article says they met through "social networking sites," a term not generally used by the press to denote "sex worker advertising sites." Arguably the lesson is that one had BETTER hire rather than seek out random anonymous civilians.

An unsavoury story, but I might point out that there is no implication that the culprit was posing as an escort.

Exactly. I find it slightly offensive that comparing it to hiring escorts were even mentioned in this thread. It says nothing about him being one.

I think a more appropiate title would be: This is what may happen when you fool around on hookup sites looking for a quick, cheap fuck.

I also say, innocent until proven guilty. People make all sorts of false allegations for whatever reason. I thought this case had already been through court and he'd been charged. It says 'similar crime'...that doesn't even give us any idea of what.

I'm sure L.A. has their corrupt cops who'll probably kill your family if you dont say what they want you to say. Has anyone not seen the new movie Date Night LOL?

Here is the latest article about the case. The guy pleaded "not guilty" despite his fingerprints being in the victims car and house. The property stolen from the victim's house was found at the guy's house. He additionally was charged with a similar crime involving another victim.

My partner and I just got hassled out of some dough. We had hired someone to bottom for us in a 3some (it was agreed on over txt) he arrives gets naked and then while we're 5 minutes into it he tells us he he's top. His profile says top versatile and we asked several times over txt and he kept insisting he's top after and wouldn't leave till we gave him money.

:(

Unsavory experience in London, that on top of being stranded here cos of the ash cloud.

You have to "interview" well before inviting a total stranger to your home.

And in many cases, the one being interviewed, should be one's self.

Thats a better article than the last one...and more detailed. Still nothing of him being an escort, but of course thats obvious by now.

Stuff like this does tends to happen in larger cities. You just never know what nut is lurking around the corner.

But it certainly makes the point that sites like This One are very important. Since you never know. Big city or small. Its best to stay with escorts and hires That have already Bern vetted by fellow hirers. And Not Just a random ad on Craigslist
