Earlier this week I visited my favorite guy, Loi, in my neck of the woods. He gives the regular Deep Tissue, Swedish massage most do. Now the other day with my co-worker, we had an interesting discussion and she asked my like what I look for first in a massage because she was curious about hiring someone.

LOL...well I felt really shallow, because she pointed out it seems I been picking people because:

1) Referrals only

2) Good looking people (80%)

3) Only looking to feel good

She's been reading up on different style and techniques from Lomi Lomi, Thai, QiGong, etc., and I hundred other questions... and she made me realize how little I really knew? and have experienced... I have tried some different styles but it seems the majority of people that I do frequent are the deep tissue Swedish massage types?

No is it just me or well, are some of the other disciplines vanishing or are they just not popular? Just curious for everyone input.

Thank You...

Okay so I decided to try Lomi Lomi and this time pay attention to what they are actually doing. I know the opportunity to try authentic Lomi Lomi would be if I traveled to Hawaii, but that is not in the near future.

Has anyone tried Lomi Lomi from either of these two?

Steve

I had tried him before but only got the deep tissue massage. I know his ad was down for a while but I guees he had Lomi Lomi. I was surprised for a Therapuetic guy he was well extremely hot. He is a really nice guy.

when i look which isn't often i tend to find someone i like and stick with them. 1 education cert license. imo anything less is a waste of money.. 2 I like someone that takes care of their body because I view massage as part of the fitness field. 3 clean studio, I always kept my work area clean and the table sanitized after each client and wont accept any less. I dont really care about the age of a masseur. speaking of table. Real massage therapist use a table not a bed. Thai Massage is done in the floor on a mat at times, other than that a tables a must. I like a extremely deep massage no buff and fluff crap

I know the bed is not very comfortable for a massage since it is counter productive to the pressure being applied at the back end.

Well as far as my Lomi Lomi experience, didn't find any reliable male Lomi Lomi practitioner that I liked. There was one woman I was recommended, but I always felt uncomfortable around a masseuse. Seems most of the guys I was looking at seemed water downed. Well looks like I am gonna have to find a way to get to Hawaii one day!

Although from the M4M. site Kimo looks like the real deal, to bad he is all the way in Hawaii.

I did find a list for a place in Hollywood that seems to teach authentic Lomi Lomi here. And found a directory for theLomi Lomi Association of Hawaii here.
