chances of the cops advertising on a site like rent boy or men4rent now are slim to none.. the chances are much greater with the craiglist.

We've all been there. My first time I was convinced I'd wind up in the pokey. The best advise is to choose someone who's been repeatedly and well-reviewed here. You'll have no worries. If someone I can't resist pops up somewhere else I always google their information (e-mail, phone, whatever you've got). If a search reveals nothing more I take a pass.

Actually New York and LA are not safe either as cops do stings there. Plenty of towns in the LA basin including LA and Hollywood have very active vice units - although West Hollywood is safe :-). New York is fairly safe but I have read on this site of several sting operations over the years in Manhattan. A couple escorts on here told of large scale sting operations in Boston and Miami last year, so you really can't let your guard down even when in a major city.

 

I have to agree with others on here that if you choose a well reviewed escort your odds are slim to none of running into any legal problems. Where I live (Washington DC) I haven't heard of any vice stings conducted in the city, although the suburbs are a different matter.

 

I was really surprised to read a article in the Washington Post recently detailing how Loudoun county is conducting reverse internet vice stings. The police rented a hotel near Dulles airport and posted ads in various on line sites offering sexual services and then arrested the clients when they showed up. I have heard in the past year Loundoun county had several operations where they had vice detectives pose as clients at hotels and lure sex workers out there - but for them to do a reverse sting by having cops pose as escorts is taking things to a new level and really surprising.

 

I didn't think that a rural county like Loundoun would do something like this as those sort of operations are usually done in big cities. I guess the morale of this story is you aren't really safe anywhere these days from cops - so stick to well reviewed escorts. Six men who thought they were setting up meetings with prostitutes were caught in a sting operation in Loudoun County after the sheriff's department ran bait ads on popular Web sites.

 

The men, ranging in age from 21 to 39, were arrested when they showed up last week at a hotel in the eastern area of Loudoun County, officials said.

 

The six men had contacted the agency’s undercover officer through the Web sites, traveled to the hotel and negotiated money for a sexual act, the sheriff's office said. The men, charged Wednesday with soliciting prostitution, were from Alexandria, Sterling, Ashburn, Waterford and Charles Town, W.Va.

 

The sheriff's department warns that deputies are ramping up prostitution enforcement this year.

I was also extremely nervous at my first meet with an escort....utterly petrified that the local PD would be busting down the door any minute....

I can't quite place the time of the year other than it was warm. As for the year I would guess somewhere between 2002 and 2005... so you may be right on target about the date. I forget his stage name... but it had a Latino ring to it as I recall. At any rate, he was very muscular and hunky as you say.

Suspicious of what, the Washington Post? All the reporter did was condense the much more detailed press release issued by Loudoun county below.

 

 

Loudoun County, VA: On February 17, 2010 the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Vice/Narcotics Unit conducted a proactive, aggressive reversal prostitution operation. Several members from the agency’s Community Resource Unit assisted with the operation.

 

Numerous computer postings and personal ads were placed on popular websites known to advertise prostitution services. The operation was conducted at a hotel in the eastern part of the county.

 

Subjects contacted the agency’s undercover officer, travelled to the hotel, and negotiated with money for a sexual act.

 

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Vice-Narcotics Unit has seen a marked increase in prostitution and vice-related crimes during the last two years. Overall statistics have more than doubled since 2008 (8 total reported). There were 19 total cases assigned during 2009. Also in 2009, 25 individuals allegedly involved in prostitution were trespassed by the Sheriff’s Office Community Resource Unit from local hotels.

 

The agency anticipates that vice-related crimes will continue to increase and will remain a threat to the health and safety of the citizens of Loudoun County. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is taking measures to reduce these types of crimes in the community through proactive operations and developing relationships with area hotels and businesses to combat these crimes.
