A few years ago, I found an escort ad (can't remember which site) by a frat-like college guy who caught my interest. I emailed him, telling him what I'd be interested in doing (some frat-related roleplay in particular) and he nicely emailed back saying that he didn't think we'd be a good match. I was bummed, but there was really no harm done.

I think it was a few months later that I actually ran into him in a business situation (a theatre audition - he had just graduated from a local conservatory) - I knew who he was, but I don't think he knew who I was, lol. Anyway, he turned out to be quite different than I had pictured him from his profile - he looked the same, but he was much twinkier and effeminate than I thought (not that there's anything wrong with that, lol, but I thought he'd be more butch) - so actually he turned out to be right. I had a good laugh with myself (and no, I didn't say anything) and realized he had been very right in his rejection - he really wasn't what I wanted at all, lol.

Go figure...;-)

Well, if you "heard it" from "several" people, my gosh it must be true. If you don't know for yourself, why on earth would you post such a malicious rumor? I hope your post is removed by the moderators.

Actually STJ, at least when he first started out, stated very emphatically in his ads that he did not find black or Hispanic men attractive. It's not a rumor, he said so himself.

But...did he get the part?

Are you like Maxwell Sheffield in The Nanny. I love guys in the show business. They create something wonderful everyday. :)

Thanks, lol. I don't think I have that much in common with Mr. Sheffield, but I can't really say, as Fran Drescher's horrid nasal whine kept me from ever being able to watch that show. ;-)

From STJ web site in his Q&A section (http://www.stj1.com/qna.htm) the following is what it says:

"What type of guys do you prefer? My preference is WM's but I have hung out with some cool Asian & Latin guys. It's best to just ask."

I agree with a previous poster that every escort can determine their own criteria for meeting and not meeting a potential client, and it is probably best to be open about it. We may not agree with the criteria and if that influences our own hiring decision, so be it.

I concur, I actually appreciate STJ's honesty in this matter. As a Hispanic male I would prefer not to be strung along by someone just so that they would not appear to be bigoted only to pay for someone who will probably underperform (or not perform at all). As for the QA quote from STJ's website, his initial ad on men4rentnow.com, actually stated that he would not consider black or Hispanic men as clients. There was no mention of Asian men as I recall.

But STJ is not alone in having preferences, as a client, I too have preferences and there are escorts I won't hire because of age, height and orientation. I've had sex with black men, white men, Asian men, and Hispanic men. An attractive man is an attractive men regardless of race.

Racial Preference

Although I am comfortable being intimate with clients of all races, I have no problem with escorts or clients who are not. Your race is a large part of your aesthetic aspect, and it is perfectly natural and need not in any way be connected with racism, that while some people are attracted to all races, other people are only attracted to certain races. If an escort is only comfortable being intimate with men of certain races, it will limit his market, but he does himself and his clients a service by being politely upfront about his limitations. A person cannot force themselves to be attracted to a particular race anymore than they can force themselves to be attracted to a particular gender. I see people express racial preferences, along with a variety of other aesthetic preferences, on hook-up sites all the time, and I do not feel that this in any way necessarily reflects upon their general attitude towards people of other races. A person may find themselves sexually unattracted to a certain race, but may enjoy the company of people of that race and support racial equality, just as many gay men get along great with women and support gender equality. I see the fact that some people have sexual racial preferences, while others do not, as part of the natural diversity of human nature.

I agree preferences have nothing too do with racism. I however can't stand a profile not necessarily a escort profile but any profile were a guy says white guys only sorry just my preference. why apologies for having preferences? if people didn't have preferences there would be no need for escorts...

MG-

Very well thought out and written. I have to agree.

Now, if only you can find yourself in the vicinity of MEM, I will still be more than pleased to "fly you around". That does not mean any thing other than a visual inspection of the vicinity. :)

Best regards,

KMEM

Have heard from several people that SmallTownJohn turns away all potential clients of a certain race.

His page at http://www.stj1.com/qna.htm lists what race he prefers and says he has hung out with some "cool" specimens of a couple other races. The message is clear enough about whether those of a race not listed have much of a chance.

He also says he expects clients to be HIV-.

I do not fault him for any of this. It's his prerogative.
