are happy endings legal? I know if I go to a JO club I can pay $10 at the door and JO with other guys whom I do NOT pay.

But is paying a rentboy $200 and having him get me off different in the eyes of the law? What's the line between massage client and john?

gee does anyone remember that jerkoff table at NY Jacks where 10-20 guys would lay you out, jerk you off, put poppers to your nose and kiss and feel you all over?

f***k'n intense.

Happy endings are illegal. they are viewed by the law as the same as prostitution. asking for one or receiving one similar laws apply as with escorting.

Some states like here in ga have a different laws regarding it. In some states a masseur would be charged with prostitution here in Georgia the law terms masturbation for hire. In the eyes of the law offering a happy ending in exchange for money is no different than offering to suck dick or fuck some one for money. Depending on the state a licensed masseur caught doing release can also loose their state license. Some escorts will sometimes use the title a masseur because they think if they get in trouble they will face lesser charges compared to a escort which is misleading. a masseur can face allot more problems than a escort, theirs business codes to follow, also some don't realize in most states offering a massage without a state license is a class E felony. Over the years AI had to show my license twice so they do check from time too time

thx for the comprehensive answer, it is as I thought. Just one more though and if I get no answer it's fine.

Don't most customers expect the happy ending? Aren't we putting those guys at risk? And ourselves? There should be guidelines that switch the context of the encounter from paid to consensual non-paid.

If a client asked me if it came with a release id tell them the massage was full body. that can take on different meanings but most get the picture. or id say it comes with a free release after the paid portion of the massage is over. now that might protect a person from the law but not from a state massage board. they will yank a license for doing it free or for pay. Here in ga you can lose your license for not using draping too. I normally would put the top sheet on the table and the client decided if they got under it or not. that way if a massage board person showed up I could argue the fact I had draping on the table. In my business I never offered a release unless the client requested so. I never liked masseurs that thought they had the right to just do so without permission. As far as most guys expecting a release. Most of my openly gay clients never asked and never expected one. 90% of the married clients expected it and wouldn't book or return without it.. One question I got over the years is do masseurs like giving the release or is it just something you put up with as part of the business? In most cases the latter. Massage school is very expensive and men normally have to market themselves 3 times as hard as the females in the business.

I find that interesting--although I am somewhat closeted (only my hairdresser knows for sure:D--that phrase may have dated me:p). Actually it's probably a pretty shallow closet--I mean late 40's never been married or had a girlfriend. Anyway back to the subject at hand--so to speak. I have had massages without release, but the majority of them have come with release--so I am surprised that the openly gay guys didn't expect a release most of the time. Now I almost always have known when I am going to get one. I have been able to tell usually either by where the ad is or by the content of the ad. If the ad is in the regular section of Craig's list, the gym, M4RN, or even masseurfinder.com--and they advertise as strictly therapeutic, then I don't expect one--if the ad doesn't say strictly therapeutic--which is usually the guy I pick, then I do.

Oh over the years i asked allot of clients about the topic. The conclusion based on clients input was the married guys or closeted guys looked at is as their only opportunity for male contact, normally they couldn't go to clubs or other gay hangouts. some figured well its safe its just a hand job no health risk for them or the wife or they didn't feel they wanted too go as far as hiring a escort. on the other hand with openly gay men most have a healthy sex life, maybe a partner and when they buy a massage that's exactly their reason for getting it the massage. I even had a few partnered guys that requested draping. I use to get a massage once a week and always strictly therapeutic. Over the years id get other masseurs as clients, Iv had porn actors as client and a hand full of local escorts as clients and every time they requested therapeutic only. the escorts and porn guys told be they had enough sexual contact on the job and getting a therapeutic massage was an escape for them...

My regular masseur (a gay LMT who does not give a release...strictly by the book) told me a major porn star came to him recently for a massage and, to my masseur's surprise, kept his underwear on for the duration of the massage.

yup doesn't surprise me at all. I had 3 big time porn stars over the years one kept his underwear on, the other 2 fully nude and wanted very deep work. no release on all 3. I had two well known escorts same thing. We mostly talked about casual stuff the whole time

Imo is doesn't matter how hot you look, how big yo dick is or how fantastic the release is No one will forgive a piss poor therapeutic massage and wont come back twice if the therapeutic part isn't great. to stand out I always marketed myself as being very good with legs and glut work took extra education in those areas and always spent extra time on those area's

My take on this is a little different. I find any good massage inherently erotic and release a natural ending to the experience. To not have it leaves the massage incomplete. This applies especially to a good therapeutic massage.

One masseur I know tells me he has clients who find the massage so arousing that it's better for him, the masseur, from a therapeutic point of view, to do the release first. Go figure.

Welcome Whiteflight!

I'm thinking your question also could be answered in "The SPA" Forum by very experienced Lover's of the Massage! :D

As one who has been getting a variety of massages from masseurs who advertise at http://www.masseurfinder.com and http://www.massagem4m.com, I think your suggestion is most appropriate to this newbie's question.

I, too, welcome him to this site!

At the massage sites: http://www.massagem4m.com and http://www.masseurfinder.com, the "masseurs" stipulate the type of massages they provide: therap...., sensual/erotic or some other type. If it's sensual one should conclude that the massage can come with "a release" unless discussed with the masseur prior to the established time!

Go to these two sites; email your query to some of the masseurs!

I love, love, love a good massage and I get them as often as I can.

I cannot relate at all to a massage as an erotic or sensual experience. Massage is therapy for me, nothing more. When it is going good, I fall asleep. I find nothing arousing about it. If I want a sexual experience, I would look for someone other than a massage therapist.

Same here. iv never got aroused from getting a massage either. I like massages very deep and with a real deep tissue massage comes some soreness. Iv seen some guys on line offering deep tissue which is not deep tissue at all but deep pressure. unless a persons gone to massage school they can't give a massage properly. also buying a massage from a person that's not properly train can be a risk to ones health there are certain medical conditions were a person can not receive a massage
