Why travel to Mtl when you can get it in Brooklyn

So, what's your favorite Deli sandwich when in Montreal?

Mine is smoked meat. It's always the first meal I have when I arrive. Doesn't matter where I go to get it, it's always delicious (perhaps Schwartz Deli has the best). Can't find anything like it in NY, well, not until now. Opening January 25th in Brooklyn is the Mile End Jewish Deli from Montreal... Now, if Brooklyn could only get some strip clubs like those in Mtl.

It tastes better than it looks...

For some odd reason these pictures don't do justice to the smoked meat sandwich. Believe me, they are more appetizing than they look and even better when you have a hot looking Mtl dancer sitting across the table from you.

A most popular dish in MTL

Do you actually eat that?

If you've ever been to Montreal you'd know that this is a most popular but unhealthy looking dish found on most menus. Yes, I actually eat "that", however, always ordered with a diet soda. ;)

Cooper, you reminded me that it's been too long since I had a smoked meat at Schwartz's. I always go for the medium cut, since I find the lean not tasty enough and the fat one would stop my arteries! I agree though that the pictures don't do it justice, just like some escorts!

Montreal's finest Deli

L2P, I realize there are many people who not only follow the SCF for club info but also travel to Montreal looking for recommendations on places to stay and to eat. Reason why I started this thread here rather than in the Lounge.

In case anyone else is interested, here is a link to Schwartz's Deli. It's well known for it's quality meats and worth a visit. I recall one morning in Mtl passing by the Deli and seeing a line of people waiting to get in. To wait that long it must be good.

The reviews say it's the best place for that smoked meat sandwich. I agree with L2P that medium cut is the best. I hope the Mile End Jewish Deli, opening this week in Brooklyn, can do as good of a job... Coop

Now you're talking Cooper. Without the slaw and fries it just doesn't scream New York.

The Other Type of MEAT!

The Area of Brooklyn we are talking about is Downtown BKLYN near MACYS!

There have been other Jewish Deli's that have come and gone in that area over the years. The Best was JACKS on Court St... years ago!

Hopefully they donot become a Victim of the "Commercial Rents" which have skyrocketed in BKLYN!

Not sure IF CASH ONLY is a good idea..Especially if these Sandwiches run $7.95 or more? ;)
