I am an escort based in NYC and travel from time to time Chicago has always been a decent city and rates have never been an issue. But after looking at the sites it seems that many people are cutting prices and coming up with what seems to be the 1.99 (199) discount price point.

 

So here is my question-

 

Are the current rates low due to the lack of talent or is there a lack of work and talent goes elsewhere or gets desperate?

As a Chicagoan, I can assure you that there is no lack of talent in Chicago. Just look at Daddy's list of honorable mentions that are based here. I also do not think that rates in Chicago are "discounted". They simply reflect the market here. I do not know what your normal rates are, but if you feel that you are "discounting" when you come to Chicago, be careful that that feeling does not translate into how you interact with your Chicago clients.

I am just looking from different sites and seeing 150-225 rates with 199 standing out. I am just curious if it is due to the soft market which chicago has always been strong or a race to the bottom (or top depending) lol jk… No reflection on the client side of things just a question about the escorts that are being scene and the rates that they are asking.

First thanks for joining the forum. It is almost always a pleasure adding another gentleman to the discussion group, I hope you continue to participate.

 

As a NY escort coming to the midwest, I would say it is simply a cost of living situation. NY is going to be 15-20% higher than the Chicago and midwest. I think it would be far easier for an escort traveling to NY to raise his rates 25-50 per hour and fit in than escort to travel out of NY and maintain his NY rates on a continual basis.

 

As you have said you have had no issues traveling to Chicago and your card being adequate, the question would be if you wish to expand your base in Chicago so that you could come here more than once or twice per year, than you may wish to consider simply lower your rates 25-50 hr or offer heavier discount for multi-hour, overnight or weekend. I may be wrong here but if you could pull in an overnight or weekend-type business while traveling that makes more sense as that covers all the costs of traveling to that city and all the hourlies is profit. My guess is you would have to examine the type of client you are getting while traveling versus the type at home. I think each gentlemen has different experiences. I have heard some say they wont come to Chicago any more because of too many flakes and cancellations while others seem to have a steady clientel and always seem to add one or two new ones while visiting. Also how many times and the seasonal differences for travel to a location like Chicago need to be taken into consideration.

 

I am not sure what attracts business more a gentleman announcing a discount or simple reduction in rate. I may look at discount announcements but would rather see a simple reduction even if only one time, but to each his own.

I would think that price level seems appropriate for the area and I think that would fit most localities.

I think that is a bit high for Chicago. Not tremendously, but a bit. As already noted, I think it is a standard of living thing. I have paid 300-350 for a 2 hour session for first rate scorts.

SF I am not sure you are doing any favors listing another gentleman's multi rate for yourself. That may or may not be the same rate he charges everyone. I dont know since only lists an in rate. I think there are a lot of people who have special rates with certain escorts and this I believe is part of being discreet.

 

Secondly I am not comfortable using another gentleman's rate to forge a negotiated rate against someone. But hey to each his own. I think the rate Justin is proposing as a travel rate in is fairly close to what most traveling guys get. I think these are less than what he was asking when he first started coming through last year.

I'm one of them...I didn't find Chicago busy for me during the week I stayed last October, and I advertised on every site. Unless the town springs back to life in the warmer months, I'll be in no rush to return.

I didn't your original post, sf, but unless it was clearly a special rate for you specfically, I don't see why it would be inappropriate to post. The reviews specifically ask for the rate.

I typically travel to a city every 3 months and my usual travel city rates until this past summer were higher. The main thing that is difficult is the rising travel cost and buy in expenses and many people may not be able to understand that is a factor in my rate. I do think the 250 mark is a fair price point for the one hour or the first with the multi discounted.

 

I was last in Chicago in July and am planning a trip there with in the next 3 or 4 weeks. Along with other cities but seeing as this is the post.

Pricing with a big discount for multiple hours (e.g. 1st hour $250, 2nd hour $150, add'l hours $100) might encourage longer appointments and reduce your overhead per client; it would also put you at market level at least for multi-hour appointments.

 

Another thought: good bidding on priceline can reduce the hotel costs substantially.

 

And another thought: staying in a non-downtown location might put you closer to your clients, save them substantial parking costs, and get you a cheaper hotel.

While I agree Priceline is the route to go, Chicago you have to be very careful of the location. Downtown is usually best, with Boystown area second, but you do not go the cheapest route which could land on southside or Ohare area, those are escort wastelands.

I do agree the idea is to make money while traveling in. Airline prices took a nice hike after the first of the year and date selection is worse than ever.
