Hey Steven,

Just wanted to thank you for adding the Heaney quote to your signature.

"History says, don't hope on this side of the grave. But then, once in a lifetime the longed for tidal wave of justice can rise up, and hope and history rhyme."

--Seamus Heaney, The Cure at Troy

The words still thrill me, even after reading them so many times. On second thought, maybe the thrill is the reason for reading them again and again. Sort of like sex, n'est-ce pas?

The words are so apropos, not just for the GLBT movement but for any great moment in history -- the American Revolution, African-American rights, women's rights, for example. One could also think of adding the Obama election and the current Iranian turmoil to the list.

At any rate, thank you for finding and using the quote. I am curious, though, as to how you happened to run across it. Are you a Seamus Heaney fan? A student of the Trojan War stories? Care to share the back story of your discovery?
