This happened to me last night. I hired a really hot guy based on the photo and the guy who showed up was far removed from the photo.

What do others do when this happens?

Here's the link to the guy I hired:

Sorry....Bye-Bye Guy! ;) Too Bad THAT Pix didn't show up!

Rentboy has its share of "Scammers" also, but Craigslist I still would never bother with although there are THOSE who find it very interesting! Good Luck!

I have had pretty good luck in that department over the years, but when there's no chemistry I try to make lemonade out of it and write it off to bad debt! Usually, the person hasn't used fake pics. It's usually that they may have a softer tummy than I like or they are too hairy, which I dislike. I've learned that there are certain guys whose ads look suspicious and I use my gut feelings to move on to the next ad. Overall, I think I've been batting 90%. I would hesitate to make a scene if they're at my house, since there's always the chance of a vengeful act that, in retrospect, was not worth the money.

Ask 2 important questions when setting up an appointment:

- Are those your pictures?

- Are they current?

If you believe any of the responses, tell them that you will probably cancel if they aren't true and current.

Always meet in a public place. Too many flakes, phoneys and Markoffs out there!

If I were in your situation I would politely let him know that they misrepresented themselves and that I wouldn't be continuing with the session. Especially since I would have asked if the pics were up to date. It is amazing how many clients I have spoken to that have had this EXACT same experience and yet "suffered" through the meeting or paid them their fee and sent them on their way without even keeping the session. They all have said that they were afraid to cause a scene for fear of the escorts reaction.

It all comes back to live and learn and ask those questions going forward. If you are upfront that you will cancel the session if they misrepresent themselves then 1 of 2 things should happen. He will show up, be exactly what you expected and you will hopefully have a great time or he will realize you won't except his less than stellar condition and he will decline the meeting. If he doesn't end up being what you wanted at least the foundation for canceling was set and shouldn't come as quite a shock when you show him the door.

To avoid a scene or vengeful act is my goal. Perhaps my rule should be if I have an uneasy feeling but want to give it a try I should not have them come to the house but rather meet them at their place or at a bar.

Once he's at your house, your options are limited, so if you feel uneasy, it's best to meet in a publice place first. Since he gave a phone number in the ad, did you try Googling it first? You might have found his ad at http://www.myproviderguide.com with an age of 36 instead of 32. Or, his ad at http://www.adultsonly.com/cmd/phone/3477293253.html which seems to have pics of several different guys in the same ad.

Alternative Strategies

Try this - He'll leave quietly -

Start drooling and then alternate between saying:

Yippee - Hungry Dog - Hungry Dog and

Ewwwwwwwwwww Pretty PeePee Playtoy! Pretty PeePee Playtoy!

Then laugh a little like you haven't taken your meds in a week or two -

Throw in a facial twitch and a body tick then wipe the drool off your face and offer it to

him from your open palm , then laugh again . . .

He'll be gone before you get to the 2nd round of verbal twitches!

I have never encountered a situation in which the guy looked nothing like his photos, but back in the days when I hired from written ads with no photo, I sometimes got guys who didn't fit their written description. That is part of the reason why I have always preferred to meet at the escort's place or in a public place. One time I made an appt. with a guy who described himself as handsome and well built, and when I arrived, I found a big doughy (pasty skin, no visible muscles) young man whom only his mother could describe as good-looking. I actually felt sorry for him, because it I could tell that he wasn't very bright and sincerely believed his self-description, and I went through with the appt. really as an act of charity, because he obviously had little money and seemed pathetically out of touch with reality. In other cases, I usually declined with a comment like, "I don't think this is going to work out," unless I was really horny and I didn't have another option (which is what I imagine most escorts do when they encounter a client whom they find unappealing, but they need the money).

Another thing to do: If you're setting up the appointment by email, ask if he's got a webcam so you can see him live, or if you're doing it by phone, ask him to take a pic of himself with his phone and send it to you. It may sound off-putting to suggest you don't believe the escort is who he says he is, but you can always apologize and explain by saying that you've had people show up who weren't who they claimed to be and you don't like the idea of turning them away at the door.

I also agree with whoever commented above that if you specifically ask an escort if the pictures are current and say that you expect him to look like those pictures, an untruthful person is likely to find a way not to take the booking while an honest escort has no reason to worry.

Other than that this may be yet another guy getting his rocks off by making odd requests of working guys with no intention of hiring. It happens daily in our biz. :(

I try to do two things:

1) Meet at his place or a neutral place like a hotel.

2) I tell the escort on the phone not to waste his time if he doesn't look like his pic because I will leave if he doesn't. After saying that, I find those who use others pics usually don't want to make the appointment.

Nah...I would never do that. And the only people who do ask me to do that are timewasters (agreeing again with Slater).

For one, I dont like camera phone pics and wouldn't send one. It makes people look worse, and wouldnt be what I or my ad photos represent. I've never been asked to text a photo or play around on a webcam, even with clients who have had stories about someone who mis-represented themselves. Now if someone feels the need to meet in a lobby then thats fine. Public places; well there's no way to confirm the person will be there so I'd probably say no to that too.

Ask for a guarantee

A few years back, I hired a guy in Las Vegas who showed a hot Chippendale photo in his ad. When he arrived at my hotel, he was about 15 years older and had not taken very good care of himself. He was unkept, pudgy and looked a bit strung out. He got indignant when I pointed that out and fearing a scene (I had coworkers in the same hotel), I paid him a c-note just to leave. I think his whole gig was to prey on an endless supply of tourists. Even his surprize about my complaint seem very rehearsed. Think of how many appointments you could do in one evening if you never had to stick around and perform. If the guy is not well reviewed (best way to filter out the questionable guys), ask for a guarantee that the photos accurately represent how they appear now. The good ones will accept the guarantee. They have nothing to fear. If not, they will usually not want to waste their own time meeting up. They might still make an appointment and then be a no-show just to be nasty. As bad as that is, you'll still save the money. Be sure to review the guy so others don't suffer the same.

Business Guy,

Sounds like the same guy I hired in the fall of 2004. "Strung out" describes him perfectly. I wanted him to sit down and chat a while, but he wasn't about to. He ranted a little, and made me sit down while he stood in front of me and flexed for a minute. But being ordered around doesn't work too well with me. When I told him to leave, he ripped off his shirt and stormed out, obviously hoping I'd get frightened at the possible embarrassment. However, nobody at the hotel knew me, so I just said fuck you and went to the phone to hire someone else. Ironically, the someone else is a guy whom I've seen four times a year since!

Good for you, gp0560

When I hire a guy who's new and/or unreviewed, I simply ask if the photos are of him and if he currently looks like them.

When I get an affirmative answer, or if there's any hesitation, I always add smilingly "obviously I don't want to waste my time or yours so if they're not accurate photos, I'll just cancel the appointment and pay nothing"

This approach has spared me from 3 fakes. A fourth guy, who advertises on CL in London still, has an accurate face pic but the photos of his ripped, muscled body were taken 5-8 years ago. I protested as his clothes came off, and he claimed he'd gained weight in a few months (!), but I halved the agreed price in return for a blowjob to completion (at which he was surprisingly good)

It sounds like you ended up on the better end of that deal! :D
