What do you do when you've bought a ticket for an escort to fly to you for the weekend and he cancels because he takes on another committment like at a club dancing for one night ? The airlines charge $150.00 to re-schedule a ticket and in this case I would be wary of the escort . I would have no assurance that he would not yet again accept another job in place of mine .Escorts worry about losing their money but when it happens to a client we get " sorry for the inconvenience" and then we are out the plane fare. Those fares cannot even be used for another escort since it is in a different name. There should be a way to notify people that an escort may blow his clients off like this with absolutely no regard for the money spent or anything else !!! In this particular case the escort is mixed up about the days so I am waiting to see if he continues with the other job . He thought that he could leave here in time to go to the other job but that is the same day that he is to come to here not to leave here. Anyway any thoughts are appreciated . I have the worst luck Okie !!!:-( Happy Easter to all !!!!!!!!!:-)

Ocean if you chose not to resched with this individual you could try going to the ticket counter of the airline that you booked the ticket with and switch it to your name and use the ticket yourself to go some where or switch it to someone elses name. I had to do this with a ticket that the bf wasn't able to use that I purchased on a credit card in my name. It took a bit of arm twisting but it was able to be done. Keep in mind though that this was in 2001 and on Alaska Airlines which tend to be at least at that time on the liberal side of the rules with their tickets and one look at my ff number they could see that for a casual traveler I was a loyal customer. This probably doesn't help much but thought I'd throw out a possible option. Good luck!

Hugs,

Greg

Dancing vs Overniter

Ocean just where is this Guy Dancing that he's gonna make as much as an Overniter which runs on Average now a cool $1000? Most Working Guys definitely go where the Bigger Bucks are! :D

IF this Sked Excuse is the BEST he can do to weasel out of his Deal..Make sure you let us know just WHO THIS IS.

You are not the First nor will you be the last to be out bucks on an Overniter Cancellation by a Flakey "Working Guy"! ;)

I learned the hard way

I have only expereiced this situation once or maybe twice. I had booked a fairly cheap $100 ticket from San Antonio over to Houston with a very known guy on this site. Set it up about 3 months in advance for an overnight on my birthday weekend. I had about 3 months worth of email exchange with witty banter leading up to the appointment. Got a call the morning of stating he was delayed at some small airport in a foreign country and wouldn't be making it back to Texas in time to join me 6 hours in the future. I rescheduled and paid the $50 change fee, only to be stood up again due to an emergent medical issue. I read about his trips elsewhere during what appeared to be the times scheduled with me. After many months of "apology" and promises to refund the cost of the plane fare to me, once allegedly sent as a certified check from a bank in China while there which never showed, and another via fed ex upon his return.... alas, I learned a sore lesson that cost me $150, cancelled hotel stay, and theatre tickets. Needless to say, I learned the hard way to heed the valuable advice of many sage men on this site and to never schedule overnights with someone that I had not met before for an appointment. Lesson learned, indded.

Yes you're right Racketjock !! I live out of the way for anyone to come here to hire so if I did not take a chance I would never be hiring as I don't get to travel much . Someone that would use an excuse to give up 2K for a dancing gigs fee minus what their agent gets evidently decided that he does not want to come . I wish he would have said no to begin with. I will post the name as soon as I know for sure that this won't go through . I am like you too as I would hesitate to re-schedule as anything at all that would come up he would cancel again and I would be out more money . If I offered to re-schedule I would tell him upfront that I would deduct the extra airlines charges from his compensation or no deal !!!

Well Trust Me! IF this "Travel Situation" ever came about in NYC.. with obvious Tones of a BLOW OFF! I would be screaming the "Working Guys Name" all over this site! I might even Post it in politics! :D

IF for "no other reason" than to save future Sucker's (not in a good way) the Experience! ;)

Dancing gigs are rarely more than a few hundred dollars worth in pay (tips included), if that, anywhere in NYC. To blow off a possible grand a night plus all amenities is exactly that - a blow off. Plus he took the dancing gig after he committed to you - that's just rude.

When someone cancels on me, I often wonder if they received a better offer. I book one-hour appointments. Did somebody offer three hours? An overnight?

I once booked a high profile guy from a high profile agency. About an hour before he was to arrive, the agency called to say he'd seriously injured his back while working out and would be out of comission for several days, if not a week.

I called the next night, booked the same guy. He showed and nothing was wrong with his back -- it was certainly flexible enough for great pumping and leg extensions. I asked about his injury and he didn't know what I was talking about.

Most of the Dancing Guys in NYC definitely 'Work It' at 250-300 an hour and will tell you the 2 donot compare!

Club W20 in NYC works for them because Sunday can be a slow "Working Day" But sometimes a decent "Dancing Day"! Minus the Gropers of course! :D

I just got an email back that said that the dancing gig was now the day he is to leave but would have to leave EARLY in the morning which would be way too early for me .. we are talking heading out at 6 or 7 am and driving one hour to the airport . This would not even give us but a day and a half since he was not to arrive until around 7pm on a Saturday. I really don't like and yes you are right Le***** .. it is rude and not what I had wanted or agreed to . I would have a change fee on the flight, pay 2k for time with someone that was not what I had really wanted and spend my day off driving someone to the airport at the same time I normally get up to go to work which is at 6:00 am ...no fun !!

Lanky..The guys will always unless your a Reg..Do a 2 Hr appointment as opposed to a 1 hr. A Guy a long time ago was very upfront about that with me...Dealing with One Guy for 2 Hrs has to be easier than 2 guys Separately considering Traveling back and forth. Unless of course his Apt has a Revolving door! :D

I always keep my original commitments and never cancel even if someone is offering more money. I think it's a question of respect and integrity.

It's unfortunate that OceanTraveller got into this situation. I've been on the other side of the equation and I know that last minute cancellation for a long term/weekend commitment are not fun. Knowing that the escort in question took another job should be even more discomforting ...

Ocean, the ticket you bought was pretty cheap. There are several classes of tickets depending on the airline. They have tickets that are completely refundable, but they usually start in the $300 range.

I had this happen to me once with a will known, adored, reliable escort, and I never for a second thought they he would be a no-show. Your escort at least called you, mine left me in the airport terminal. DO NOT post a name here because everyone will chastise you and come up with every excuse to say it was your fault, and then when you try to explain, Daddy will remove this post and say it was a review.

If you 100% want to see an escort, and DON'T want to gamble your money on someone who may be a no show, purchase a refundable ticket. After the second try, it usually pays for itself, plus you loose no money if they don't show, since the money was refunded, you can purchase another ticket for another destination and name. If the escort DOES show up on the first try, you're out a little money compared to a cheap ticket, but assured. After the escort becomes reliable, you can then purchase the cheap non-refundable tickets.

Just a money saver tip.

As with some other "arrogant" Working Guys..I would tell this Waste of Time and apparently YOUR Money just where he can put his KIND jesture! Just Who is doing Who the Big Favor?

Don't Play the Schmuck Game with this guy! Some guys are Notorious for Shorting the TIME on Overnites, with the Next Morning I have to split early Blah-Blah! That's why I Stopped them! :D

IF ya get a TOTAL of 4 Hrs of SEX seeing as how this guy definitely seems like he needs his Beauty Sleep to Dance the Next Evening...You'll be very Lucky!

But his story does serve other "Weasel Working Guys" in that it somehow makes them look good for about 5 Mins! Ya know who you are..BUT I have a feeling WE are never going to find out who THIS DANCER WAS..

***Am I right .. Arriving Maybe 7 PM on Saturday..with good Flt Time and Leaving 6-7 AM on Sunday? 12 Hrs Minus Sleep for 2K ? I'm sure this guy is NO Zeb Atlas! LOL

Another reason why you stand out, Steven.

Happy holiday weekend.

Of course we will over look the Draker Statement he made a few years ago..

ALL CLIENT CANCELLATIONS..WILL BE PAID FOR REGARDLESS!

In his favor that Biz Practice lasted about 24-48 Hrs! :D

I just heard back and he had the date wrong . He would have to leave early instead . I would have to change the ticket which would cost $150.00 and then the new flight would be another $200.00 and would cause me to have to get up at 4:30 am on a Monday my day off to drive him back to the airport . I could put him on the bus but that would be $30.00 in itself and neither one was what we agreed to . I would not have booked this with that kind of schedule . He thinks that the change is nothing but not only the expense of it is aggravating but the time here is not what I thought I would be paying for . He would be here less than a day and a half and that is not what I wanted . He first said that his agent just called and then the second time he said that he checked his calendar again and the date was correct ..which is it ? It is disrespectful... I would have checked with him if I needed to change and with this being a date in June he could do this another time . I had to plan ahead when I knew I would be off of work . As I said if I were to do this it would be deducting every expense that I incurred to change and I would also expect a lower fee for having less time here because as a buyer I am not getting the time that I thought I paid for .

Ocean..Totally your decision. BUT I'm thinking it is Time to Move On.. with a "Thanks But No Thanks" Email!

Your "Financial Investment" can be made with a Fresh Face and Definitely a more Reciprocal Attitude ELSEWHERE!

Ocean....I'm with JT on this one. It's frustrating for sure, and I'm like you, I don't like to waste money, but if you go through with this appointment, given how this has transpired, it can only turn out badly because you have soured on him, and your loss, while presently limited to a plane ticket, will soar to 2K pissed down the toilet.

I don't see any way this can turn out well. I encourage you to cut him loose too. To me, almost important as the appointment are all the factors involved in setting up, scheduling, travel, fee discussions, emails, phone calls. He failed you. Don't let him bring you down any further.

I have only had one similar situation. I arranged to fly a well known escort to meet me. The dates were set, and I purchased the ticket (relatively inexpensive and non-refundable) about one month ahead of time. Then, 3 weeks later, he emails me to tell me, he didn't accurately account for his schedule, NOT that his travel schedule had changed. He offered a minimal apology for his screw-up. He offered to change the dates, but his proposal did not work for me. Initially, I was irritated with him. He was careless in his planning; and that is something for which I have little tolerance.

We shortened the trip, and I purchased a new return ticket home for him, and blew off the original ticket, because it was cheaper to buy another one than to change the existing one. That's screwy for sure.

This was a serious red flag for me, and I elevated my caution about meeting him, but it was the only issue we had; everything else went well, including an awesome fuckfest with him, so all is forgiven. But one more problem, even something trivial, and I would have canceled him.

Jawja it's the same here . The cost of changing the ticket is more than the original ticket .

I hope everything is blooming well in Georgia as we are starting to bloom here in NC !! I had wanted to see him but I guess I will have to let it go . I thought that he was nicer than this . He said that he can't cancel the dancing as it is in conjunction with opening his website . This is on a Monday ... do people dance on Mondays . here in NC in Charlotte it is only on a weekend .

As an update here I told him that I would not pay any more and that he should re-imburse me for my cost of the ticket . He is checking to see if he can re-schedule and if not he will re-imburse me so we shall see . If he re-imburses me then he is a stand-up guy . Either way I will reveal who this is as soon as I know . I don't want to ruin anyones reputation but he did not do the right thing and that is what we are all here for to share our experiences with each other and if my experience is bad then I need to share it .
