Delightful Evening at JOHNNY'S

Last evening there were fifteen dancers, most in their early 20s, young looking, cute and sexy, smooth, with swimmers' builds, and ready to make customers happy. Some were college grads, others were attending college in South Florida, and no one I spoke with had any accent. A number were outstanding, and I have seldom seen the likes. MICHAEL looks like a bronzed young Greek god, perhaps "The Youth from Marathon," but with a smile added. MIGUEL and CASEY are worth coming to Fort Lauderdale for. Wow! CHAD, JACOB, DEXTER, COREY, and CODY were wonderful and wonderfully interactive. If you like the best of twinks, JOHNNY's is now the outstanding bar to go to in South Florida. Last night was Twink Tuesday; I can hardly wait for this week's Towel Thursday. The crowd was moderate in size, so dancers were happy to spend time with you, and the music was not too loud.

Brazilian Night

 

There were thirty delightful, cute, sexy, nearly nude boys dancing tonight at JOHNNY's in Fort Lauderdale. This evening was their first "Brazilian Night" instead of "Towel Night" on Thursday. They brought in lots of itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny, red and black boys' bikinis. They had that wonderful authentic Brazilian cut which shows as much flesh as possible and hints clearly at the little extra. So all the guys were "dressed" in the new bikinis. There were no Brazilians dancing that I could tell. Everyone spoke excellent English except for DAVID, who was so gorgeous and sexy and active I didn't care if spoke anything.

 

The dancers ranged from absolutely outstanding and stunning and gorgeous, like MICHAEL and DAVID, to cute little twink-boys next door, like AIDAN and ALAN. In between were all sorts of very cute and smooth and sexy, well endowed twinks like MARCO from Mexico and RALPH WOODS from Montreal, who looks better than ever and is the best dancer in the house; Ralph no longer tends bar, I was told, but dances frequently. He owns one house in Montreal and another in Fort Lauderdale and goes back and forth. BOBBY and BRICE were blond "brothers" who performed an erotic dance together. Some of the other very attractive dancers were ADRIAN I and II, CODY, CASEY, DEXTER, JACOB, IGGIE, CHAD, JUNIOR, SUGAR, and DOMINIC. Every time I turned around, I had a new stunning boi in my lap, begging to be petted. This was not at all pestering, but delightful offers of sensual pleasures. What could I do?

 

The four curtained booths for private dances were filled all evening, and customers frequently took two bois at once into a booth. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. I have never seen such an array of beautiful boys. A friend went last night (Wed.) and said it was crowded, with about 30 dancers, and he had one of the best times in his life, both sitting at the bar, talking with and fondling dancers, and also in the private booths. Monday night was slow, according to the dancers, but every other night of the week is crowded and fun. There is no cover charge; there is always valet parking so you do not have to worry about finding space; it is perfectly safe and under watch all night; and JOHNNY'S is located on Broward Blvd. not far from the Arts Center and in a very safe area, only a minute east of I 95.

RE: the new Johnny's

 

Some additional observations to supplement Karl's (who could not be expected to remember everything when faced with that cornucopia of talents).

 

1. Johnny's is not just twinks anymore (though that's still the predominant species). I saw a couple of guys who would fit nicely at Stock.

 

2. There are several drop-dead gorgeous bartenders. I almost managed to convince Jordan to elope with me.

 

3. The place resonates with good energy (forgive the new-age speak). The dancers are clearly having a great time. Often a couple of dancers will jump on stage during the main attraction's routine and provide counterpoint to his dance. Or other dancers will engage the principal dancer in some erotic play. Or boys will break into spontaneous dancing on the floor, with each other or with customers.

 

4. This good feeling carries over into their interactions with customers. Many (not all) will hang around talking, cuddling, being fondled, or whatever, for considerable periods of time, without paying much attention to whether or how much they're getting tipped or soliciting a lap dance. I was embarrassed at the end of the evening to realize how little money I had spent for such a good time.

 

5. There are dancers there with good bodies who were not, to me, particularly good-looking. But several of them had personalities that drew me in despite my initial lack of interest. Some examples: a cute reddish-blond boy with a line of dirty patter that was amusing and arousing at the same time. A Cuban-American who was outrageously flattering.

 

6. The closed curtain lap dance booths are, in theory, checked regularly by staff to enforce the club policy on permitted lap booth activities. My limited observations suggest that this is not much of a constraint.

 

Finally, a bit of practical information -- lap dances are $20/song. I didn't even try to count; I just told the dancers up front how many songs I wanted. In most cases, they went well beyond the allotted time for no extra charge. There was even a half hour of 1/2-price lap dances (announced by the MC) one evening -- and it was not an evening when business was slow.

I went to Boardwalk and Johnny's on Sat nite and had a great time at both places. Boardwalk was packed with dancers and customers and then around 1:30 am we went to Johnny's. The crowd had thinned out but I would agree with both of you about the energy and variety of dancers. The music didn't seem too loud and I like the lapdance area much better than Boardwalk and also felt the dancers gave a nice lap dance for the $20.00 cost. I had way too many of those! Ralph Woods gave a nice lap dance and so did Jacob and another guy who was Cuban but I forgot his name...but I definitely remember the lap dance!

Guy Parker

 

It just clicked. One of the blond boys dancing at Johnny's last Thursday was "Guy Parker," coverboy for "Allboy" magazine's Sept. 2008 issue. He posed with the fire engine, black tee shirt, and splendid equipment. Two of the other dancers Thursday also closely resembled recent models in the magazine, but I'm not sure. It would be nice if models used Johnny's as another spot to earn some cash while they are here in South Florida. Other porn stars have danced recently at Johnny's and Boardwalk, including the current Ralph Woods. Sammy Case, Jake Havoc, and Jonathan Lowe were regular dancers. (This may not be news to regulars at Johnny's, but I hadn't been aware "Guy" was dancing there.) The quantity and quality of dancers is certainly much higher than in the recent past.

Johnny's vs. Boardwalk

 

I agree. The quality of dancers at Johnny's has gone through the roof. I recently enjoyed visit there and was struck by the increase, both in the number of dancers, the variety of body types and general friendliness. It was a very enjoyable visit. I wonder if the absence of online feeds of the dancers, ala Boardwalk, has made Johnny's more attractive as a place to work. I wonder if the dancers receive any proceeds from sales of Boardwalk's live feeds. For the customers, the general level of leaness at Boardwalk has declined. Also visited Dudes, dissapointed as the place is so brightly lit that there is little atmosphere. The room is more comfortable with dividing wall removed, but the lighting is a real turnoff.

I went to Johnny’s Bar in Fort Lauderdale for the first time last week. My experience overall was quite positive. There were thirty some dancers covering the spectrum from Muscle boys to twinks. There were several beautiful Latinos (I think it was Brazil Night). Since the place is small you couldn’t help but rub shoulders with some beautiful boys. I went there on the Thursday night preceding gay pride weekend and since this was so close to a major event weekend, my experience may be atypical. Sometimes things can be hit or miss. Well I guess when you hit at Johnny’s you can hit it big. I found several dancers that were very personable and interactive. I spent over half an hour at the bar with a wonderful semi-twink named Corey who was a true sweetheart. He spent over half an hour with me talking, cuddling and snuggling. Yes, I was tipping him generously but he never got pushy, aggressive or even suggestive about the tips -- just a very personable and zero attitude guy, a true gem of a boy with a beautiful, smooth, defined body to boot. Later I met a stunning Latino from Cuba named Cane. He spoke very little English but his body language told all. We were eventually making out so passionately that I thought either a patron or the manager would soon yell ‘get a room!’ Even old donkeys like me still have some semblance of discretion so we adjourned to one of the VIP booths, and even though I am a confirmed atheist… well if I ever get that close to heaven again I think I’ll just jump across. Life is good in Fort Lauderdale.

 

There are two definite downsides: 1) the music is way too loud – impossible to carry on a conversation without shouting and getting hoarse and 2) the SMOKE – I arrived around 10 p.m. and by midnight the smoke was so thick you could cut it with the proverbial knife. When I got back to the hotel my clothes smelled like they had been used to mop out a fireplace. Also some of the boys can get overly assertive about tips. Typically, the ones that aren’t are the best in terms of connecting and interacting with patrons. They are also the ones that end up with most of my tips at the end of the night.

 

P.S. Bel Ami’s Ralph Woods is advertised as a regular there, but according to his blog (http://www.ralphwoodsblog.com/blog/) he has returned to Montreal for a while so I missed him.
