Montreal is the world capital of world class male stripper bars with four bars and more than 100 nude dancers among them every night of the year.

There are a number of fine 4 star hotels in Montreal, and some of them participate on priceline, so you can almost always do a lot better than pay rack rates. But there is only one 4 star hotel which has a perfect location in the Gay Village and close to all the bars and transportation, and that is the Gouverneur Hotel. You can walk to all the bars and restaurants in just a few minutes; an added bonus is that the airport shuttle drops you off right across the street for great ease. Usually the rates are a bit pricey, but right now they have several specials for summer and early fall. You can't afford to stay at home. The package I am using is for four nights: first night standard rate, second night standard rate, third night half-price, and fourth night free! Not only that but you get full American breakfasts three mornings, and they cost $16-$21 each. So you will be getting the best hotel with the best location plus a meal big enough to keep you satisfied until dinner, and all for a daily price less than the lowest price anyone is getting on priceline, and that is for hotels which require a subway ride or taxi to get to the gay village each afternoon and evening.

There are other specials offered. One has standard rate for one room and then get a second room free on weekends "for the children" (or whomever). If you are going with a couple of friends, this is a terrific offer and is made a number of times during the year.

You can look at the website or even better, call reservations and they have things I did not find on the website. 1-888-910-1111

You live only once. If you are seriously gay, you deserve to get to Montreal. Nowhere else will you find so many handsome and cute nude males ready to offer you incredible delights. You can get up close and intimate with your favorite dancers at CAMPUS, STOCK, ADONIS and TABOO each afternoon and night. And you have your choice of a large array of escorts who will come to your hotel room for an hour for $150-$200 and offer full service with a smile. If you have not enjoyed a rendez-vous with a French Canadian guy, you have not yet fully experienced life. The twinks are incredible and the beefcake is the finest.

It's a wonderful place and a great opportunity.

Could you explain where you found these deals? I went to their website-- the best rates there were $139 (with no extras) or $77 per person, double occupancy, with breakfast. There were no packages or promotions offering extra days at a reduced rate.

There are no recent Priceline wins for the Gouverneur on Bidding for Travel, but there are quite a few for other 4* hotels in Montreal in the $80 price range.

There are several special deals on the website: "Suite, Suite Summer" and others. As I suggested, after looking at the hotel website, I called the reservations number and asked about other specials. The reservations agent then told me about the special I booked. (When I stay at the Gouverneur, I often see placards advertising specials which do not appear on the website. These often involve weekend specials, vacation specials, and family specials for more than one room. Perhaps these are considered perks for regular guests.)

The Gouverneur in Montreal does not participate in Priceline, as far as I can tell, so special offers are particularly welcome. Not all hotels participate. A number of other 4 star hotels in Montreal do work with Priceline, and I have seen Gouverneur hotels in other cities participating; they are part of a chain of ten or so Gouverneur hotels in the province of Quebec. (If you do not already use them, biddingfortravel.com and betterbidding.com are excellent sources to begin with and see what kinds of bids are being accepted around the time you are interested.)

Websites vs. reservation agents on telephone are tricky. Sometimes you can find much better deals for hotels or airlines by yourself on the web. But at other times, talking to an agent can save a great deal of money, and they can let you know about opportunities you would never find on your own. I have recently been trying to help a friend find a good fare to Honduras. We tried every source on the web we could think of, and the price was still very high. Finally, we called an agent, and she was able to find an amazingly low fare on American Airlines. And we had tried American from every angle on our own. So you cannot rely solely on websites, or at least I can't.

Heading to Montreal in two weeks. Can you give me some info on the escorts you refer to? Do any of the dancers at the clubs escort?

dancers/escorts

>Do any of the dancers at the clubs escort?

The short, simple, useless answer is "yes." The longer, more complex answer goes something like this: Strip club dancers will often do "privates" or "hotel privates" with customers they feel they can trust and/or be comfortable with (physically, emotionally, sexually). They are dancers, not escorts, in order to have the freedom to pick and choose their clients. In particular, they are unlikely to say "yes" until they've gotten to know you and have done private dances for you in the back rooms.

My most important and reliable rule of thumb in this regard is to avoid any dancer who immediately offers to go back to your hotel, before he's gotten to know you at all. A second important rule, once willingness has been established, is to ask detailed specific questions about what activities the dancer will engage in and how much he charges. If you've spent a lot of time interacting in the club, you should also have a sense of whether he's going to run out as soon as you've come.

Example: this past week, a dancer at Campus mentioned that he also worked as a legit masseur downtown. I asked if he did private massages. "Yes". How much? "$100 for a massage; $200 if you want me to escort for you." When I inquired further, he admitted that as an escort he did no anal, and he sucked only with a condom. He was not offended when I told him that wasn't good enough for me; in fact, he offered to do an erotic massage for $100. Although I didn't take up the offer, I suspect he would be very good at that.

One final point is that most dancers who do privates are not professionals in the way that "real" escorts are -- you can't expect the same level of expertise, and the younger ones may be flaky about time. For me, that's counterbalanced by the opportunity to get to know them ahead of time in the club, as well as by the thrill of the chase.

Dancers and Escorts

newatthis is 100% right in his analysis of dancers as escorts.

There is an essential difference between the two. Dancers could advertise as escorts if they wanted, and a couple do. But most of them choose to be dancers rather than escorts, and that says something. Among the questions to ask a dancer/potential escort is the question of time. Escorts always think in terms of an hour or more. Dancers generally think in terms of 15-20 minutes, whatever it takes for them to get you to cum. When dancer-escorts appear to be ready to leave after 20 minutes, it is not that they are cheating or don't like you; they honestly believe a "private" should last only 20 minutes. newatthis' examples are particularly apt, and you should ask the explicit questions. Many dancers will only do oral with a condom; a kiss for them means on the cheek; and "fully versatile" does not include any anal. If you want more, you need to discuss it with a dancer ahead of time. When you are face to face and naked, it is a little awkward to argue about what "kissing" means.

Now, about real escorts. There are many fine escorts of every size, shape, and age in Montreal, and they are prepared to provide 60 minutes or more of sexual pleasure for you. How do you find them? There are many ways.

Start by looking at this site for reviews of escorts; then look at maleescortreviews.com for more. A good review is an excellent recommendation of satifaction. Also look at men4rentnow.com and rentboys.com, perhaps also montreal.craigslist.com. Then look at the magazine FUGUES, which is published every two weeks in Montreal and available free in any store along Ste. Catherine Street; it also has a website. There are ads for individual escorts and ads for the six or so agencies which serve Montreal. If you are interested in twinks, the agencies are particularly good and useful. Twinks don't usually advertise individually; they appeciate the screening the agencies do for them. But other body types are also provided by agencies: muscular types, minorities of all kinds, kink, etc. Be reasonable in your requests and don't expect a guy within 30 minutes. Try to give the agency a two hour notice, and they will be able to fill any of your desires. Escorts much prefer day appointments to late night, and some have told me they do most of their business in the afternoon. Morning appointments are also very common, so don't feel you will be asking for something unusual if you ask for a 9:00 a.m. appointment. Make arrangements the night before and ask the escort or agency to call you half an hour before the escort is scheduled to arrive so that you know for sure they are coming. I usually try to have one last escort the morning I have to fly home. It always leaves me with a wonderful smile, sensation, and memory of my trip to Montreal.

The Montreal escorts are a very special and enjoyable group and easy to find. They are highly recommended and will provide enormous pleasure and memories which will last a long time.

In my opinion, calling the Gouverneur a four star hotel is an exaggeration. The rooms (I've only stayed in the top floor premium rooms) and service are not up to the standards of any of the four star hotels you can get through Priceline (Hyatt, Omni, Intercontinental, Loews, Sheraton or even the Hilton)(I've stay all of them). Singing the praises of such a weak property doesn't do anyone on here any service. Yes, the location is great but lowering the price for a piece of junk doesn't make it less of a piece of junk. And don't even get me started about the breakfast! ugh!

The Gouverneur is more like a three star hotel and if that's what you want... go for it! But implying that it is equal in quality to the other four star locations isn't right. You can get an honest three star hotel on Priceline or Hotwire for around $60 per night.

Really appreciate your insights. Are there any particular agencies you could recommend? Furthur, would you share your knowledge of what I might expect in the back room?

It beats a lot of Holiday Inns and other 3 star hotels, especially if you stay on the BUsiness Floor with excellent beds and Internet access.

It deserves another STAR just for being a short walk to everything you could want during a long weekend or vacation.

Maybe worth another Star just for their understanding and courteous acceptance of a wild lifestyle for many guests!

RE: Dancers and Escorts

>Furthur, would you share your knowledge of what I might expect in the back room?

That's a hard one. It varies very much by dancer and phase of the moon...the same dancer can be very "giving" one day and very "hands off!" another. I know (either personally or second hand) of almost everything happening in a curtains closed booth, with the exception of the dancer penetrating the client (and no doubt someone will chime in here who knows of that as well).

As I get the feel of the closed curtain, $20/song dances, I've come to the conclusion that with a dancer you don't know, it's better to opt first for curtains open, $10/song dances to get a feel for what he's like in the back. With experience, you'll get better at judging from conversation beforehand what the dancer is likely to be like in the back. I tend to avoid guys who ask me if I'd like to do a dance with them within a minute of meeting me.

The best advice someone could have given me when I started going to Montreal would have gone something like this: relax and don't focus on how far you're going to get with a dancer in a boorh. Concentrate on finding guys whom you like and who seem genuine and affectionate, and enjoy whatever touching/kissing/... happens. And if you don't get pushy in the back, you may find the dancer permitting liberties a couple of songs in that he would never have allowed at the beginning.

Enjoy your trip and give us a report when you return.

I've stayed at quite a few of the 3* and 4* downtown hotels over the years, and there's never been the least problem with bringing guys to my room (or having them come over on their own) at any of them. The first time I hired an escort, I asked if I needed to meet him downstairs to avoid his having trouble coming to see me, and he replied "No. The security guys in the hotels know us and don't hassle us."

Of course, my idea of "wild lifestyle" may be much milder than yours :-).

RE: GREAT DEALS ALL OVER MONTREAL

In doing some research just now for a possible August trip, I discovered that lots of Montreal hotels are offering great deals this summer. Here's one example: the Sofitel, a very nice 4* property downtown, offered a 5-night price of 938.63 CAD (= US$920 at today's exchange rate). That doesn't include taxes, which add an additional 128.63 CAD.

RE: GREAT DEALS ALL OVER MONTREAL

I'm not sure what I was thinking when I posted the above (it's too late to edit it). I must have misread something, since the per night price I was offered at the Sofitel, before the discounts for the special deal, was CAD$162.

Here's the link for further details: http://www.gouverneur.com/promo.php?lang=en

Rather than booking on-line I called their reservation number directly and specifically asked for and confirmed the 4 night 'suite, suite' package. They will follow-up with an email confirmation if you ask that clearly itemizes discounted and free night.
