Taz, You gave a very fair and balanced review of the Grand Opening of Magnum54. I will agree, what was promised wasn't delivered.

 

Opening night for any club on Mother's Day would be risky. Both dancers and patrons do have priorities and Mom does come first. That might explain the reason for a poor turn out on both sides. Also, why compete with the 20 Club? Same night and same time. Why not another night?

 

Personally, I enjoy attending male strip clubs. It beats sitting at home on Sundays watching Desperate Housewives. So, regardless of the location, I'll make every effort to attend and show my support.

 

When attending a strip club the most frequently asked question is, "So, how was it?" That usually is referring to the lineup, not the cute security guard doing his job, or the adequate buffet provide by management.

 

When I pay a cover of $50.00 I'm expecting something special. When I hear the party is a mix between the Gaiety and Studio 54, I have high expectations. When I hear no liquor, I'm expecting to see "no g-strings" on stage. When I hear top dancers from 20C, Splash, and international, I do expect quality. Simply put, the club didn't deliver.

 

Like Taz, I spent time in the back private area. From the "VIP Room Menu" I did 2 "No G-STRING LAP DANCES", 5 minutes each, for a total of $100. I went with a cute young man who I recognized from Rentboy and who's reviewed on this site. His name is Benjamin Beckett (http://www.benjaminbeckett.com) I had an amazing time with him and hope to see him again. If Benjamin is your type, I would highly recommend taking him into the back. He's worth every dime.

 

As for the rest of the lineup, Taz already mentioned that Pablo and Ryan of the 20C were there, however, the others were all new to me. Avoiding me writing "same old, same old"... Another stand out would be Matthew from Brazil. He has that universal appeal and easily could have been a Gaiety dancer. He had the best build in the lineup: solid muscular, with good looks... Another friendly and good looking dancer was Johnny. He's a snow-bird, dancing at Boardwalk in the winters.

 

Unfortunately, these dancers couldn't keep me at the Club all night. Like others, I left and headed over to see the "same old, same old" lineup at the 20C.

So, what exactly were the rates for doing lap dances?

 

When I entered the "club" there was a Magnum 54 Club Menu waiting for me on the table. All rates were listed. I found this information very helpful and something other clubs should enforce. At some clubs it seems the dancers make up the rates depending on how much they feel they can hustle you for. I compliment Magnum 54 for letting you know up front what the fees are.

I hope Belpompino doesnt mind the old queens from "the other site" using his buddy gruntsuckers post but i coulnt help hijacking this one, the fee for entry was higher later in the night, those who got to magnum early got a $20.00 membership free.

Gruntsucker paid $70.00 to enter and watch the show.

Oh for golly sakes What were they thinking. I attended the Grand Opening of Magnum54............. Well all I can say is good bye Magnum54. I realize sometimes attending an opening night is not the smartest but this group acted like and advertised they were experts at it. Miami, Vegas and LA all of which I have never heard of them. But I (sucker) is born every minute. I got the email with the new address 440 Broadway. I got there a little late 7 pm. I believe they opened at 5pm. The door was unlocked by a young man and I proceeded up a flight of stairs to the second floor. I paid my cover $50.00 and the $20 VIP charge?????? Inside there were walls made of retail white slat wall, this was a rented space. Way too much light, buffet (never eat at a buffet where the patrons may have had their hands up...) a bar with blenders and lotsa chips and pretzels. About 20 guys were there but only about 10 dancers. Now these dancers..Virginia and DC people remember the Chesapeake House. These guys were the skinnyest, scrawnyest things I have ever seen. They all had black bikinis and white collars. There wasnt an ounce of Muscle there. Johnnie was cute best body, sweet great ass but def a twink. Most of the guys looked a little long in the tooth as well. I had my Cola, (comp) and chatted with a few. They had to pay $100 to dance there. I suggested to mgt they strip down the Slavic looking bouncers and get them on the stage. Finally they shut the spotlight off the dancer and that gave the room more ambience but now you couldnt see the dancer.....Denise where are you? Then HE came in. I saw him from across an uncrowded room. He was late he knew it apologized to the mgt and went in the dressing room to change. This boy was as big as anything that has ever graced the G's stage. I learned he was Mathew from San Paulo and dances at Twist in Miami. Please guys anyone have contact info???? I ended up tipping him and he showed off his "guns" 18". When he came off the stage this queen in a tux beat me to him and escorted him to the back room. Back room ! The queen in the tux had been telling everyone there he was a classical musician but the tux in this place made him look like a cater waiter.. again long in the tooth. Now it was my turn I was given a list of services $20.00 for 5min w/ g string (the tux queen opted for that) I splurged on a $200.00 twenty minute no g string naked show. Mathew delivered he was spectacular. I would have gone much longer but well er I ... Unless they get some celebrity muscle in there I will not be back.

Gboy, I don't think I'd call it "frustration", it was more like deception. Re-read all of Magnum's announcements and view their website, what they promised wasn't delivered. I've also noticed dead silence from the Magnum team... As the adage goes, "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me"... From what I experienced first hand, and from what others are saying, I'm not too sure Magnum deserves a second change. What do you think?

Thanks for the info on Magnum 54. I am currently out of town and was unable to attend the "opening," although after reading the details I don't think I'll be patronizing this place. It sounds like a royal ripoff!

 

$50 to get in? Plastic chairs, no booze, Fergetaboutit! Yes, I would rather sit home and watch the gals of Wisteria Lane! HLOL

As I said before I was in NYC this past weekend - Friday through Sunday afternoon. Was sorry I wasn't going to be able to stay for Sunday and the "54" opening.

 

Now that I read the reviews I'm glad I wasn't around.

 

Saturday night turned out to be a little "show of my own" in NYC - with TJ and Trevor917 getting several of their "friends" together for some fun at the hotel - sure we could have charged much more than $50 to enter and folks would have left much more pleased!

WOW! You guys are absolutely too much. You all must of received an "A" in you high school drama class!... Well hello everyone I have just arrived back home after being in new york for the past 2 days. I have been meeting with my NY staff to go over what went right and wrong with this weekend past grand opening...In order for everyone to understand just what took place you must hear it from the start...not just taz and other's 1 1/2 hour's in the place. A few weeks back we were questioning when to post the grand opening and address, well it was decided to put it live 1 week before but to tell the performers that were gonna come a few days before that. Someone leaked the info to the building location and somehow the owner of 409 w 39th street was told by unnamed sources that a "illegal sex party" was going to take place there. This all started after "keven slater" reveiled an e-mail that was intended for dancer/escort eye's only, to the www. Thanks Keven for starting the "shit storm" Well our troubles were only starting where as the NYPD & FDNY contacted the space owner( and I mean 409 space NOT THE HK BAR!)we were informed if we had the event legally the space would only hold 100 or so and that was too small. If we were caught with more the event would be closed down, so for the sake of all of you who were to come, we went to plan B. In our travels discovered a beautiflu loft space for rent by the evening. With 2 gay owners I figured we were all set. I explained about our private party and what was to go on and such...and that yes by name we are a club...but really not a club but a loft party which is an event NOT A CLUB! The owners were very cool...THIS SPACE WAS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, PLUSH AND CLASSY! 8 INCREDIBLE PRIVATE SUITES I'M TALKING TOP NOTCH!...so all plans were set for the open may 11, 2008 all 40...YES I SAID IT 40 performers were contacted and booked to be there. We began to make plans and tell everyone when but not where untill later in the week. Next question when do we release the address info? We only told a small amount of people the actual event space address and told the dancers who were going to travel to NY where it was. The very next day Thursday May 8 I awoke to my e-mail saying that the landlord was pulling the event and that we were out! after composing myself a few moments I sat for a second and tried to figure out how in a matter of 2 weeks, we could of been thrown out of two event spaces without even having a party! I did my research and found out that the "20 club" mgnt told ALL... any performers that worked there once or many times that they were all under contract and that they could be brought up on legal charges and that their information would be turned over to the police "AS ESCORTS" if they were to be found at Magnum 54. Now with just 2 days to go, what were we to do...we had already put off our opening once and I'm sure that would of been it for most trusting us. PLEASE REMEMBER...We are currently in the middle of construction our beautiful 7000 sq ft. Ultra Lounge space in midtown. we have hundreds of thousands to loose not just a night of rent money. We decided to give NY what the 20 club can't "NO G"...Now please answer me a question if you go to see Elvis or Sinatra in concert DO YOU REALLY CARE WHAT THE CONCERT HALL LOOKS LIKE WITH THE LIGHTS OFF OR THE SEAT YOUR SITTING IN OR THE USHER LEADING YOU TO THE SEAT?....NO YOU CARE WHAT ELVIS OR SINATRA SOUNDS LIKE...RIGHT????

 

Well everybody we felt like we should give you the NO-G you wanted...so we were able to find a temp location as we said...drape most of it...create a privacy lounge...and get it done in 2 days. Are we proud NO we actually were not crazy over it but again with 2 strikes in this case we were out. WE WERE SABOTOSHED...OUR CONFIRMED PERFORMERS DID NOT SHOW ONLY 12 AND THOSE MOSTLY TWINKS! We understand the space was not beautiful...It was a solution to making this happen. Would we ever be there after this...NO... our intention was no before the event even started... We were hoping that NY would of enjoyed what we could offer...a place to go where you are not treated like fools... you could touch the guys all you wanted..NO ONE EVER TOLD YOU "NO TOUCHING" did they??? the lap dances were unrated..yes??? Hell some of you "I won't mention names" JIZZED all over our sofas...(our staff had to clean it up) try that at 20 CLUB...Hell sunday night past one guy was fired AT "20" for showing a guy his goods in the $ 460.00 VIP room..this from very good friend who was there at the bar! As said in our ad's "you might spend a little more on the entrance but once your in...the fun costs about the same...

 

next I want to thank the moderator for borrowing one of our price menu's so he could post to the entire world...our rooms ran $ 10.00 cheaper that 20 club and we added "NO-G" for $ 50.00 over that...Do most of you realize, you give 20 Club hundreds or thousands of dollars for what? possibly a minor touch? at our parties there was NO BIG BROTHER! Thats why it was a little more, How hard was that to understand? Does 20 Club give you a Gourmet Buffet each week...NO you get $ .99 cent potato chips NO EXPENCES SPARED! WOW!!! Now NYOBSERVER Thanks for your candid views and Karl as well we understand your views. All what most of you wrote we understand.

 

We never had the intention to RIP YOU OFF!... We posted on craigs list not to lower the quality of the event, but as to spread the word. We are a PRIVATE PARTY for that you need a membership.. now that you own it you will see the benefits like NEVER PAYING FOR YOUR DRINKS...JUST SHOW THE CARD does 20 do that...NOT! discounted lap dance rooms...and much more to follow!

 

I really need to address a sore spot...We needed a face to greet the public that everyone would like and respect. I was directed to a guy in NY named Julio and yes I mean him from the 20 club.

 

This is one hell of a guy...But he was being screwed by the 20 club for years. He was there since the start but when made the mgr was told there is NO PAY CHECK! JUST TIPS Yes again the good old 20 club owners GREED! well we offered him a very nice deal and he was happy to accept under the condition that the first few weeks went well. Julio saw several faces he knew and asked to please keep it quiet he was there. (This is where it all goes south!) This forum's very own TAZ & COOPER who attended the opening with a clipboard in hand came in and started to inspect the event like a NYC health inspector. They interrigated the performers that were there and stayed about a little over an hour and they were gone! Also there and gone fast the QUEEN in the tux! Well as they said..."THEY WERE GOING TO DINNER AT 20" "for the same ole same ole"! They spent their time bashing our PARTY as if they had something against us...and going to management that JULIO & GEORGE & PEDRO WERE THERE!!!! Like sissy tattletales!!!! To make matters worst the Magnum54 event barely closed and there was a post already from taz bashing the party...YES TAZ THE PLATES WERE PAPER AND THE SOFAS WERE FROM IKEA AND THE CHAIRS WERE FROM LOWES AND THE SPEAKERS WERE PORTABLE BUT...THATS WHAT YOU DO IN A RENTED LOCATION YOU DON'T START DRILLING THEM TO THE WALL AND YOU DONT GO TO ROMA FURNITURE TO BUY SOFAS YOUR GONNA GET RID OF AND WE COULDN'T GET FINE CHINA FOR A BUFFET SORRY TO UPSET YOU! You knew all the time that you were not going to provide what you advertised and still charged $50 bucks and never bothered to tell customers when they arrived what was going on so that they would understand. You just took there money and expected them to sit down and shut up.

 

Damage control 101, admit what went wrong and tell how it will be fixed, dont blame everyone else.

 

Your angry because you have been exposed for "droping the ball" and not providing what you advertised and charged for? You were happy as a pig in shit when I post "GOOD SUNDAY NEWS" and got free advertising.

 

Your the person who advertised 40 dancers and a plush setting.

Never did you say you would only have 12 twinks dancing on a small table in a vacent second level store with lawn chairs.

 

As for Julio and company, dont make the customers out to be the bad guys, you visited another club and stole there employees. Someone in this business for 2 days knows that is not the way to start.

 

The owner @20 is well aware of ALL the players involved including the guy who is working on the inside getting you dancers and giving you info long before we go to the 20 club after leaving your failed party.

 

As for this forum, it seems you only want to use it for advertising what you think you can provide but when you drop the ball its supposed to be a secret? When things were going your way everything was perfect.

Everything you sent me in private emails was also a lie. You want to blame others for your failings? Why not own up to the truth, admit your mistakes, and stop hiding behind 2 user names. You used this m/c to promote your party. Don't try it again, you can contact "daddy" and he'll send you the prices for advertising. As for your location, it was on the link for your website and still is, you posted it yourself, don't blame anyone but yourself for letting the cat out of the bag.

 

Another thing julio11, don't flatter yourself. Not a clip board or even a note pad was used by me. It's not hard to remember what took place at your event. It was reviewed by me and other in a fair and balanced way. Only the truth... However, the people I really feel sorry for are the ones who fell for your lies and deception. The dancers were promised to make hundreds if not thousands of dollars, sadly, they either broke even or lost money. I doubt they'll show up again.

 

Julio, the former manager of the 20C is a good guy. Liked by all. What he's doing working for a loser like you is beyond me.

 

As for Taz's early review, duh, read the site. A member had already asked who was going to be the 1st to post a review. That's very common here. The Gaiety lineup used to be posted minutes after the first show. It's what we do in a Strip Club Forum.

 

If you don't want publicity for your "party" go elsewhere. Don't use this site to promote your lies and deception. As the adage goes, "if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen"...

 

As for being banned for life from your parties. LOL... No problem. After reading your comments here, I doubt if anyone one would attend. Posting personal information about the patrons who attended is not only unprofessional but the kiss of death. No one would be stupid enough to attend an event knowing that the "GM" is going to post personal information about your activities. In case you hadn't noticed, most of the patrons in attendance were members of this site or muscleservice.

When Taz and I entered Magnum54 we were greeted by Julio, the former manager of the 20C, who immediately told us he spoke with the owner of the 20C on Friday to tell him he was leaving. He wasn't fired, nor was anyone else fired who chose to join your "team". They freely left. So, why do you stoop so low to lie to all the people who view this site? Your reputation and credibility is shot.

 

Julio, you are in serious denial and in need of professional help. Stop blaming others because of your failings. Your life is consumed with getting revenge on the 20C. You used Sunday night to start going head to head with the 20C. You are making a big mistake. I did read what you wrote and have been writing. Your making less and less sense, I know at least a dozen customers who feel the same as I do. Nothing written in my or coopers posts are incorrect. Your just mad because you have been exposed, if you explained your problems (not your mental problems) prior to the party all of this might have been understood by customers, if customers were happy at the party why was everyone gone by 9 pm?

I was very excited that I would be in town for the Grand Opening of Magnum 54.

 

After all the Julio drama and waiting I would get to see for myself what all the MAGNUM hype was about.

 

Arrived at the club to find some "Daddyville" members lurking outside saying the club wasnt ready yet. Its ok, everything is late and last minute delays are always expected.

 

When I arrived back I was greeted by a well dressed police like looking man in a black suit who opened the door and directed me up the stairs to the "loft". Its the second floor of a retail store. (somehow I thought I was going to see Denise, Neo and the cat at the top of the stairs. I wished)

 

I was asked to sign a contract saying I wasnt a cop, postal inspector or health inspector, and agreed not to touch the dancers penis or ass and pay my $50.00 cover. (was given a free drink ticket) Hmmm.

 

After walking into the room I was a little taken back, I was greeted by Julio the manager of the 20 club. He informed me that he left the 20 club to work at this new place. Ok, lets sit back and watch the show.

 

The Magnum54.com website advertised "Style & Sophistication" "Cool Euro Style Ultra Lounge Atmosphere" I was expecting to see a classy club or space. The seats were plastic lawn chairs that you can buy at Home Depot and I think I have seen the sofas at Ikea. The sound system seemed like a mobile rental system and I never heard a DJ. There was a buffet that seemed pretty good but I wasnt there for food. (paper plates and plastic cups) The website advertised 40 dancers. I counted only 12. The website also advertised that there would be a porn star, I did see George the former busboy from the 20 club, maybe thats what they meant. (hes a very nice guy) The website also advertised "Room Admission Specials" I only saw two dancers that were worth investing in a private dance IMHO. Pedro and Ryan both from the 20 Club. I paid full price for my private lap dance, nothing special was offered. $150.00 for 20 minutes.

 

I was rather shocked by the lineup. None of the dancers were "Buff" as advertised. Most of the dancers never danced before and said they were either hired off craigslist rentboy or by "j%%" of the 20 club.

The stage was so small that the dancers could hardly dance, maybe 5'x6'. There was a spot lite on the stage that went out after a few dancers, no one seemed to try to fix it.

 

A customer arrived with a HOTTTTTT guy who wanted to try the place out. He went onto the dark stage and did as well as he could, too bad it was so dark He was MUCHO HOTT.

 

Somehow when I hear something will be like the GAIETY I expect to see nudity and HOTT dancers. NONE of the dancers were nude and most were NOT HOT. The manager said the dancers could get naked in the lap dance rooms.

 

I think if Denise knew the Gaiety named was used as an example for this event we could hear he screaming all over NY.

 

I give the Magnum people credit for trying but I doubt most customers would go back and pay $50 bucks for a far less show than the 20 club offers for $20 bucks.

 

The claim to offer Style, Sophistication and a Cool Euro Style Ultra Lounge and Atmosphere and Hot Gaiety Style show were absent.

I left and went to the 20 Club. Many other customers also left and went to the 20 club. Mystery manager Mike Gio/MAG MAN was not around during my visit.

 

I wouldnt return unless drastic changes were made. Maybe some of the other Daddyville members will see a brighter side to this.
