The 20 Club, losing out to TV shows

If you had a choice of watching very popular TV shows like the "Soprano's" and "Desperate Housewives", or attending the male dance show at the 20 Club, which would you choose? Looks like many regular customers voted for the TV shows.

 

Last week you could blame the poor attendance on the Oscars, this week it picked up a bit, but still most of the seats infront of the stage were empty. Too bad, for local New Yorkers are missing out on one fine show that can't be taped.

 

So what did you miss? For starters 21 dancers who all strip down to skimpy thongs and are available for $20 lap dances or $100 private dances in the very private/clean champagne room.

 

With so many dancers to choose from, everyone seemed to have their own personal favorites. Among mine were:

 

DILLON, the younger brother of the "massage guy" Tim who came out dancing to "Bad Boys, Bad Boys..." and wearing a police uniform, (at this point the b'boyzz took off). He's a real hottie. Well defined muscular body, blond/blue, amazing good looks, and an extremely friendly personality. He's straight, lets you know if from the start, and is limited. Good for body worship and massage. Not worth taking to the bubblie room.

 

GIO, a new dancer with a medium tight build. Sexy good looks, dark eyes/hair, and not pushy. He's a good dancer and well worth the $100 fee for the back room.

 

DAVID, former barwaiter turned dancer. Youthful good looks, slender build, dark hair/eyes, extremely friendly with a big smile. Also good in the back.

 

LARS, formerlly known as David, first saw him at Splash's Man-On-Man Show. Blond, blue eyes, medium muscular/ripped build, very popular with many customers and was busy most of the night. His lively stage show will catch your eye.

 

ROB aka Tyler. How good looking can one get? Sadly, this former Gaiety dancer, is now club manager, with the title of "champagne room host". He now struts his stuff in a tuxedo and escorts you to the back private room asking if you'd like a drink. The biggest tool he now exhibits is his thick long flashlight with long hanging batteries, but the charm and sex appeal are still there and many of us are anxiously awaiting his return to the stage.

 

Representing the buffboyzz were: Lex (Erick), Dex, and G Smooth. There were 2 barwaiters, one new, and Dan, the man, was the other.

 

There were a few good stage shows, but dancing to 3 back-to-back songs won't keep any customer's attention. With so many dancers, why not 2 and keeps things moving faster.

 

Hopefully, we'll hearing more from other Hoovillians who were in attendance.

Well, I was also at Club 20 last nite, Tyler/Rob has produced another great show.

 

Over 20 dancers were present to put on what I feel was on of the best shows yet.

 

Coopers list of dancers has only a few of the super stars on stage last nite.

 

My favorites were Buffboy Lex (Eric), Alex and David...

 

Well worth the $10.00 price of admission.

 

Up the the minute news, Ricardo Milos sent me an email saying he would be at Club 20 Sunday March 26th.

I hope he keeps his word.

Is it the TV shows or the morality police who are causing such low attendance at the last remaining strip show in New York? As I reaad these reviews of each week's show, there doesn't seem to be any hint of cock, and if there is no cock to be paraded, well, the show can only go so far. I want to see full nudity, I'll bet the dancers want to show me all, and I'll bet the crowd would increase if there was more nudity. I know it's not management's fault, but we had it for years, so it's hard to go back to the fifties!

It seems NY needs someone to explore the legal issues of opening a dedicated MALE strip club with booze or a PRIVATE club where members could buy a membership to enter. (Only members may enter)

 

Isnt that how the NY bath house's do it ? (Iam told)

They dont seem to be bothered by the police.

Given that any number of lawyers already have the necessary expertise here, maybe we just need one of our wealthier comrades to get an appointment and find out just what the legal requirements are.

 

There was a club called Club 545 where you joined and then had to check your clothes. The customers weren't there for each other, but to have sex with hustlers who also did a show. It was like going fishing on a stocked trout farm!

The 20 Club is located at:

 

20 W. 20th St. between 5th and 6th Avenues. Phone # 212-633-0934. Doors open at 5pm and close at 1am. Cover charge is $10. Number of dancers ranges from 12-20+. They dance to 3 songs and strip down to a thong, no nudity. $20 per song lap dances are available in the back of the seating area and for $100 you can enter the private "champagne room" lasting 20 minutes. It provides a more intimate setting... As for "rules" there are none posted. If you decide to do a private dance, the dancer will fill you in on what the house policy is. Communicating before going back is the best policy.

Forgot to mention that the 20 Club is only open on Sundays. The manager, Rob/Tyler, is a former Gaiety dancer. During the week this Club is a "gentlemen's club" called the VIP Lounge and features female strippers. It's a large place that's very well maintained. Perhaps the nicest club/setting for male strippers in NYC.

The dancers strip down to thongs which is all that NYC laws permit. If you're looking for full nudity, you're not going to find it in a NYC bar that's open to the public.

I attended this Sunday's show at the 20 Club. There were a few new familiar faces, Fred and Jean Sebastian from L'Stock, and bodybuilder Simon, formerly from the Gaiety.

 

As the night went on, it was apparent to many that the music was getting louder and louder. It reached a point when I could no longer hear the person speaking next to me. I politely asked the manager if it could be lowered, it was, but after a short time it got even louder. So, at 9pm, before doing my $100 champagne room dance with a hot looking dancer, I left.

 

The customers who attend these shows aren't teenagers and there is no reason for the dj to see who's eardrums he can damage. :-(

No problems with the music this Sunday. The manager wants everyone to have a good time.

 

JT, your "buddy" Ricardo Milos was not a big hit at the Club. He left early as he wasn't making any money. However, that wasn't true for most of the other dancers who were busy bouncing up and down during those lap dances.

 

The dancers now perform to 2 songs (it used to be 3). This too was an improvement for some of these guys just can't dance... Good stage shows were put on by Hunkamania star Sebastian and hot looking Dillon, the massage guys younger brother... As for former barwaiter Dimitri now called Dimi, his stage show was a real sleeper. Perhaps Rob/Tyler can give him some lessons.

 

There were several Hoovillians in attendance and everyone seemed to have their favorite dancers. G Smooth, formerlly of the b'boyzz, was very busy and barwaiter David was occupied most of the night... Tores aka Enzo of the Gaiety was the biggest in size and Gio, a twinkish type, was the most slender. Good show and nice range of dancers.

Sunday 3/26 was one of the better shows at Club 20, the crowd seems to continue build

I was very happy to find a lost dancer from Eddies Splash weekend named Chris/satisfaction. His show was one of the most entertaining this sunday, BEWARE of tipping him on stage, he might wrap his legs around you and not left you go back to your seat, maybe he doesnt like being alone on stage.

 

Satisfaction should give Dimitri/Demi some pointers, Demi can put you to sleeep after 2 songs, he never levaes a 2' x 2' area of the stage and never comes close to dancing, he has even left the stage after one song leaving the DJ saying duuhhhhh. Who hired this guy? He seemed to be a better waitier..

 

Anyway, another good show !!

....and one of those was me. This was my first time at the Club 20, having been lured to NY to have dinner beforehand with Cooper and the other Hoovillians. It was great to meet the new ones and catch up with those whom I had met before. The club is very luxurious, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Quite a bit different from the old Gaiety, but the dancers were hot and I did partake in a few lap dances. Thanks, Cooper et.al. !!!!!
