What clubs? :-(

Last I knew... Hotel Duferin offered street type guys (druggie types) some nights, one "massage" operation -- Horizon House or Harmony house or something like that, and a few bathouses. Never tried any. Some good fast food to order in though. :9 Tried some of those. }(

The massage place was called Harbour and it is now called Blue Lagoon or http://www.blue-lagoon.ca. They give an excellent service, I especially like Marcus and Monty. It is an upscale location and not in any way seedy.

There are a number of excellent guys list in the reviews as well. My personal favs include Jay http://www.men4rentnow.com/ds/index.asp?cmd=view&id=100176&Login=Jay_Vancouver and Conrad http://www.men4rentnow.com/ds/index.asp?cmd=view&id=118465&Login=jockitwithU. Matt is also great but traveling so it depends on when you are there. All are reviewed under Vancouver.

Other than the Dominion Hotel there are no regular strip clubs but some good clubs who may have gogos from time to time. Pick up a copy of XTRA West at Little Sisters Bookstore on Davie Street or at any of the bars for the weekly listings of what is going on. There are some escorts listed in the paper as well but buyer beware lol.

The Dufferin Hotel has just started having table dances daily. I have seen only two different dancers on three different days. The dancers will dance on stage in their briefs and will do the table dances in a curtained-off area. I do not believe the dancers will get nude behind the curtain. When I say table dance I am distinguishing that from a lap dance. This definately isn't Montreal. The cost is $5 per dance. Neither dancer was my type. If they could get a job in Montreal it would have been at the old Adonis. They are definately not Taboo, Campus, or Stock material. But at least its a modest effort and it seems that the dancers are nice enough and appeal to some of the customers.

The Dufferin in the past was known for its go-go boys downstairs. They are all gone, apparently over a exuberant encounter with an undercover liquor board agent. There is still the occasional rent boy in the bar, some drugged out types hanging around out front and in the alley, and Homer Street between Drake and Davie still sees same husler action. The Blenz Coffee shop on Davie and Granville can be productive at times, especially early morning before the buses start running again.

Be aware of the hispanic young men out in front of the Dufferin and and on the ajoining corners. They are not hustlers or available. They are Central American drug dealers whom the police take only accasional interest in despite their very obvious dealing. They do not appear to cause any problems, though, as the Dufferin is in a very busy and otherwise safe part of town.

I have been told that perhaps half of the young panhandlers on Granville and Davie may be available if approached discretely and courteously.

Anywhere in the Westend or Yaletown is ok. Several bars and clubs in the Westend on Davie.

Stay away from East Hastings. Don't even think of cruising there. Really. No kidding. I mean it. There is a bar near there called the Lotus, I believe, that is ok, but be careful in the area.

The Blue Lagoon is a class place but service is mixed and prices a little steep. They offer erotic massage and escort services. Their website is pretty easy to find. Tipping is optional but the attendants have to pay the company $200 a week to work there so tips are really the only way they can make money. Back in the Harbour Relaxation days things were much more interesting in those rooms than they are now. I have never had a bad experience at Blue Lagoon but I have had some pretty disappointing ones. I don't go there any more.

One thing to remember about Vancouver, if you are visiting: the city is very, very safe, in terms of crimes against persons; you can walk around most places at any time of the day in relative safety. But there is a large drug problem in town and there is a great deal of crime against autos -- both auto theft itself and, even more, theft from cars. If you have a rental car, do not -- repeat, do not -- leave anything in your car while it is parked in any public area or public garage in downtown Vancouver.

While I agree that Vancouver is a very safe city as North America goes, it still has its dangers for gay males who do not exercise the proper amount of discretion. A court case has just concluded there concerning a gay man who was murdered in Stanley Park (a smaller version of Central Park in NYC). The man's body was found naked in the park and he had been beaten to death by 3 young men, who went "looking for fags to bash". The victim was found in an area frequented by gay men looking for casual sex. It is thought he was naked before the attack took place. This, IMO, was NOT exercising the proper discretion. :-(
