You may want to search the archives because we covered this extensively about 6-8 months ago. But here's my "Reader's Digest" condensed version.

 

RUN AWAY FROM CAMPUS!! I found it awful, smelly, gross, and disgusting (and those are the good points about the place). Maybe the boys at Nob Hill have changed. But, a year ago when I was there, I had a great time.

I just went to the website for the Campus Theatre and I do know what you mean. I have had a good time at the Nob Hill Theatre when I have been there in the past but they do not seem to have many porn stars performing there on a regular basis. I will definately visit the arcade there which is very nice and kept clean.

I was at Nob Hill this past weekend (President's Day weekend) and had a blast. I especially liked James and Mitch, but then I'm a "Twink Hound" (to borrow an excellent phrase from a fellow poster). Also note, Nob Hill Theatre is in a MUCH better area than Campus (aka: 220Jones).

 

Biggest surprise of my trip was to find them actually mopping the floor at the Tea Room Theater. Weird for that place to smell like Pine Sol. I've NEVER seen them do anything resembling cleaning at that place in the ten years.

James at Nob Hill is pretty hot, and I had a good private with him. The headliners are hit and miss... depends what you like. I like twinks, so Flash is fun for me too. He has a cute face, so just wish he would take off that damn mask!

The Nob has good and bad days. It seems to be seeing a lot more bad days lately, as compared to a few years ago.

 

I dropped by the Nob this last Monday night and it was tragic!

But they do keep the place very clean and it is in a good neighborhood on Bush near Powell (Nob Hill area) and only a few hundred feet from the Crown Plaza hotel at Union square.

 

James is a cutie, but most of their dancers are unpredictable in keeping their schedules and a lot of substutions occur -- some good and some not so good.

 

It can be a very fun place however, and I'd definately stop by if I were you--I mean you could do worse for $30 ( charge to enter the Theater area where the dancers dance and shower and where the private booths are).

 

But on the whole, I agree--the boys there are not the best looking, so the good ones really stand out BTW, Josh Weston, now with Falcon, was there for a couple of years and av ery active bottom in the private booths -- so they do have some nice guys there once in a while.

I used to go to both Nob Hill and Campus frequently, probably 4-5 times a year each. Campus is really rundown now, however, and not fun like it used to be. Even though it was never as "upscale" as Nob, in the "old days," even just a few years back, they used to have a far superior group of hot guys/boys, whereas Nob felt as if most of their guys were straight or gay-for-pay.

 

Campus was cool back when they used to have two 2-man shows daily, and a group show on Thursdays through Saturdays; yeah, Nob has those now, but at Campus you saw a really hot sex show, not just strippers stripping in groups, but really hot guys giving each other blowjobs and more on stage and all over the place. The hottest thing at Campus (now called Club 220) used to be their quarterly 20-man shows, when 20 guys, mostly hot, would come out on stage, 5 at a time, strip, jack, suck each other, then start lap dances with all the horny guys packed in the audience, while the next 5 came out and did the same. Once all 20 guys were out there, everyone had their dicks in their hands, were sucking the strippers (I don't--but it's fun to watch), or getting sucked in some cases themselves. I remember a cute beautiful boy with my friend next to me, another one on my lap, the two of them kissing while we were playing with them, and a third stripper coming to my side and starting to blow the one on top of me while playing with my dick. It was totally hot. Also, the privates were a lot more "anything-goes" than most privates at the Nob. Sadly, now, aside from an occasional hot kid, most of them aren't very hot, and the place just is a bit too creepy for my taste.

 

Nob has its ups-and-downs, though it is better now than a few years ago when they lost a lot of their dancers and had a small group. Now, at least they have someone for everyone, though there are times they have a lot of beauties (twinks being my faves) and then other times when they don't. It can be hit-or-miss. The guys are a little more willing to have fun in privates, but nothing ever compares to the energy of the old shows at the Campus. It was at its best about 10 years ago, when they had hot guys, hot porns stars, and there was a general air of more excitement for guys to go there and enjoy themselves; it's a little too "professional" now to just lay loose, and enjoy.

Well I was just at the NH yesterday, they were touting "Willie" (one of their regulars)as the Headliner "Super Bubble Butt". Yes, it is a shame they don't bring in the former talent like the past.

Something very odd happened to me in the video Arcade. A relatively cute guy eye'd me into a booth and proceeded to expose his private parts then asked "Where do you live?" "Let's go to your place" "Too far? Lets go to the Hot Tubs". Asked if he was a 'dancer' or hustling in general, he said 'No'. Fiddeling occured but I'll spare you the details.

My gut tells me he wanted to 'off' me, then check out my car / hotel room / apartment (watch, wallet, etc.). Beware down there around 2PM, says he's there most days at that time!

I performed at The Nob Hill Theatre in June of 2000 and last year in April of 2002. I always have a great time when I'm there and would love to go back some day. While I was there in April the owner explained to me that they were no longer going to pay a fee for Headliners. He's friends with the owner of The Gaiety and she convinced him that they don't need to spend the money on entertainers. He also said they weren't going to cover air or hotel anymore either. That might be the reason you don't see as many porn stars there these days. As I said I love working the Nob Hill. I always have a great time but as a Headliner you're required to do 4 shows a day at 1pm, 4pm, 8pm and 11pm. During one of those shows you have to cum on stage. It was in the contract that if you didn't cum at least once during the day they could dock you $100 if they wanted to. I don't mind cumming on stage and all that goes with working The Nob Hill, but it would take alot for me to pay for my own airfare and hotel for a week then take on a schedule of four shows a day and cumming once on stage for no fee at all. I hope they change that policy soon and bring the guys back in. I love going there!!!

Not meaning to sound critical but do alot of the dancers that are now performing at the Nob Hill look (for lack of a better word) rather mangy? It could be possible that the photo's are not the greatest and might not do the dancer's justice but some of those dancers I would tip for them to keep their clothes on. Not all of them are my cup of tea and there were some that I found to be attractive but they were in the minority. And how come it does not seem like there are any big name porn stars performing there any more. I am going to be in SF in a few weeks and was hoping to see a few of them there but with the exception of Paco and Tony Romano (neither of whom I believe are porn stars) some of their headliners are less than appealing. Is the Campus Theatre any better?

Chris, as a performer-- what is it that you truly LIKE about THE NH? If you do not get a fee and have to yield to those constraints-- what peaks your desire to be there performing?

Is this a good business practice??

Flash is a cute guy, but obviously VERY straight and doesn't take much interest in getting too personal with his audience~

 

I was at the Nob a couple of weeks ago and their headliner was Dr. Calvin, Mr Nude something-rather 2004. On a saturday night, the place was dead and the performers were lackluster to say the least. There was more action in the arcades downstairs from what it looked like.

 

I also saw Flash snogging with his GF in the front and methinks it's something he does intentionally to make sure no one thinks he may have what Margaret Cho calls a 'Homo-Moment.'

 

Eh. He'd be even sexier if he was confident enough to be straight and comfortable in the environment he's working in. *shrugs*

I think if you read his post he is NOT performing there since they stopped paying and providing air fare and hotel, as are most of the other porn stars. The only exceptions I'm aware of are guys that actually are local - as Josh Weston at least was - and it sounds like even he isn't there anymore. There is one major difference between the Gaiety and the Nob Hill- where as they are expected to get it up at the Gaiety, they do not come, and usually it doesn't stay up very long. This translates to at least one more private a day which probably nearly levels the potential take for the dancer. I haven't been to the Nob Hill in probably three years but used to go regularly. Back when, when they had a big name porn star on weekends the place used to be packed almost every seat taken- more guys there than I've seen at the Gaeity. The last time I was there I think there were 3 of us in the theatre. They must make their money from the arcade as I haven't seen enough traffic in the theater to pay the electric bill lately
