Rumor is circulating here that the famous Gaiety male burlesque has been sold by Denise. The new owner is apparently a Hungarian immigrant consortium of Eastern European women. They are all graduates of the Ukranian and Russian military services, as well as Cooper Union.

Their spokesman, Neo Neopolitan, stated that no immediate changes would be made to the Gaiety shows other than the hiring of a new dj and the addition of a circus act. Denise will apparently now be working security, especially keeping out customers who have complained about the old dj!

Although the new shows will have military-style dancing, and will showcase the women who have bought the Gaiety, there will occasionally be performances by male dancers. The first male to perform will be Ben Armani, another Hungarian formerly dancing in a Gulag prison.

Price increases will be minimal, Mr. Neopolitan stated.

The Gaiety will now have a website as well: http://www.bozotheclown.org

Dear Mr. Lucky Luciano:

RUMORS of this deal have been in the makings for over 2 years. Unfortunately, anyone mentioning it would be subject to legal action or immediate excommunication from the establishment. It appears that all the minor details of this mega-deal have been worked out.

Foxy and I look forward to working with this new Hungarian consortium headed by Mr. Neo Neopolitan. I wish them all the best.

A special live webcam will be set up to capture the opening ceremonies. All patrons who enter will appear live, along with their names, home towns, phone numbers, body type, and dick size. In addition, all personal information will be given out upon request. VDN, our host of the evening, will be taking orders for a limited edition photo album depicting patrons interacting with dancers and owners, along with private shows and all police activities. Family members will be notified as to where they can obtain additional copies.

This is such a huge event in the City that never sleeps, that Mayor Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Wee Fuckum Young will be on hand to cut the ribbon.

More information will follow.

Again, thanks to Mr. Lucky Luciano for his early posting of this news worthy story. He was the 1st to openly bring this information to our attention. Other websites are now free to cut and paste it on their forums. Remember, you heard it 1st of M4M.

And here I thought that THIS was Denise, at her best !

Oh well.

Whether G is sold or not, I sincerely hope that it will continue in the same vein, as it has for years. TOO many of NYC's most famous, and most imfamous, venures have disappeared, and I'm not quite ready to shed a tear for yet another safe spot gone off to the wilderness.

Call me sappy, or call me sentimental, and I'm not THAT old, but I remember a NYC where 42nd street bristled with sexual enticements, when AIDS was the name of a diet drug, when the escorts were much younger (but a bit more on the edge), when the numerous peep shows and theatres on 42nd Street beckoned for all to come and experience, when even the stuffy East Side of Manhattan boasted at least two gay bars, when 53rd Street had some of the BEST street hustlers in the country.

I applaud almost everything that Rudy Giuliani did for NYC, including the step up on picking up dog poop, but I have to confess that even though I feel a little safer living in the Big Apple, I pine for the days when I could just dump a load on some dock site on the west side or suck an unsuspecting kid in a public subway bathroom.

So, I'd trade any amount of dog shit, on our streets, for a more permissive attitude by local government.

Does anyone think that kids from surrounding states come to NYC to view our clean streets?

Back to the thread.....I pray that Gaiety continues as it was, even with alleged new owners, but I'm not holding out too much hope.

AND, if I'm proved wrong, in the long run, even better.

Regards,

I'm with you, HOTDAD. Although I never lived in NYC, I was a frequent visitor during those "salad days" when being gay seemed to be much more on the edge than today. I thought it was even fun as we zoomed around Manhatten in those battered old yellow taxis with ripped upholstery that bounced from pothole to pothole, wondering if we weren't going to be killed at any moment in some horrible wreck. The number of venues for casual sex were just incredible, though, and it seemed every neighbourhood had some attraction in that regard.

wow, that's DEFINITELY a new conception of a club!!! if this guy was dancing in GULAG (Abbreviature of State Department of Camps), so, taking into account that this department was abolished in 1955, the guy must be more than 70 years old!! well, some like it hot, some like it old:)
