Slow night at Taboo. Not too big a crowd and so only about 12 boys showed up to work. The boys say that they expect a big weekend, so the whole contingent should appear around then.

Typical weekend night! 22 dancers. Tremendous variety and lots of energy.

Well, finally returned home. And though we got no advertising fee, we were treated very well by the co-owner/manager. Though part of his ulterior motive was that he had the hots for Ryan of NYC who was with us. But we got our table reserved for us and had a great time.

 

Overall, I would just have to say that you really need to make the time to go. You won't be sorry!

 

And by the way... one piece of advice for newbies, because I have seen this phenomenon more than a few times. You need to go more than just one night. Some people feel funny the first time they go in because it is a setup unlike any other. Many people who I have spoken with felt uncomfortable with their initial visit, only to eventually find it their favorite place in North America.

Great just doesn't scratch the surface describing this weekend with you, RetiredMike, and Ryan/NYC in Montreal. The Taboo management and staff couldn't have been nicer, the dancers, well... they were just wonderfully friendly and affectionate -- and so many new faces . How will we top this one next time?? Just keeps getting better and better.

 

Good advice for newbies, Mark. As one I initally felt uncomfortable, but I perservered and overcame -- as I see you did. One has to get the lay-of-the-land and observe the protocol before becoming comfortable and proficient in the environment.

 

And for those that feel the boys stick close to their Montreal regulars and aren't friendly -- wrong. The truth, confessed to me by several dancers, is that the boys much favor Americans over the Montreal customers who NEVER tip stage dances and seldom do back-room dances. Over the entire weekend, our table was surrounded with boys -- the regular dancers we already knew and the new boys too. We never lacked for company. The Montreal regular customers were the ones eyeing our table and wondering "what's up with them -- they have all of our dancers and that cute American boy, Ryan, too" .

 

Understand that the dancers are not aggressive. Most wait to be approached. They look for eye contact and maybe an overt response from you. If your really want a guaranteed ice-breaker or attention-getter on a busy night then $5 or $10 tip on the stage dance will definitely get you high on their radar screen, though it is not necessary if you are willing to search them out on the busy nights.

 

Similarly for the back room... don't go back and expect to hit a homerun on the first pitch. Almost all the guys are their to make money but also to have fun -- not to be terrorized by some heavy-handed stranger. Some are more worldy than others, some are very new. None like agressive, abusive customers. They all want to keep their job. The 'minder' is there and he chastizes the boys more than the customers. Here's a secret... Get to know the dancers, a little conversation out front , a little conversation in the back when when the dance gets going. Build dancer confidence in you. They need to have some trust that you respect them and the fact that you understand they want to keep this job. Be respectful and don't be too agressive, they will put it all in your face for you to see and they like being touched generally. BUt they reserve 'forbidden touches' -- and this varies with the dancer, according to their experience/ worldliness. It may take a few dances or more or maybe a second trip to the back room or a second evening, depending how many dancers you are interested in meeting. Then some may not choose 'to permit' at all -- dollars don't always override chemistry. Sometimes word spreads among the dancers if you are a nice guy, and good client. Some will observe you with other dancers and form a positive opinion. With a little trust established, the more adventurous will actually work with you by watching for the 'monitor' so you can have fun. You should also keep an eye out as well as four eyes are better than two. Let's just say that I have been able to hit the same homeruns in Taboo that I have hit at Campus, every bit as far -- you have to pick your pitch. Also remember that no one bats a thousand.

 

The confidence issue also applies to off-premises privates too Not everyone does privates and not every private may be what you expect from an escort. These kids are really dancers and not hustlers but some like to make money and have fun. Some can be quite adventurous and others less so. For those that do privates, treat them respectfully and respect their limits and a fun time can be had.

 

A garden analogy is apt -- a little effort upfront often yields nice rewards that continue to accrue long after the effort has been expended. If you are too impatient to invest the time and resources in the garden then you'll be better off to visit the produce stands.

 

Now for the rundown... whew!!... just too many to remember, I'll try not to repeat Mark's (fort hose that I know or met his comments are right on) but here goes:

 

Pierre-Luc (who else could top my list for anyone who has observed me !!) -- the premier stage dancer of the house IMO and no nicer guy has ever graced the face of the planet. His stage dance is well deserving of tipping.

 

Francis -- looking better/tighter than ever, always a big hug and good company -- likes to do a nice erotic dance for me

Just want to second Tampa's excellent comments about being nice to these kids. Privates a lots of fun... but I had just as much fun just taking these guys to dinner at Le Club Sandwich after the club closes. They go with you and have great conversation for the price of a sandwich if you have built some kind of relationship with them. And what a view you get during dinner!

 

Over the course of my week, I had dinner with Pierre, Pierre-Luc, Thomas, Yannick, Damien, and Justin. If you are asking about Pierre (a bad-boy twink)... he is the one who I had for privates twice. He is truly versatile... can use both that huge piece or take one! He is open to anything.
