Since New York Observer will not be doing the reviews anymore, is someone going to be taking over this spot?

Since I do not live in New York CIty I cannot volunteer my services but they were always interesting to read. Even if it

does not go to the extent that NYO's did, it would be nice if someone did pick up this weekly tradition. Hey Valley Dweller North or Cooper, either of you two up for it?

Someone, I can't tell you hoo, has made me a fantastic offer to take over the Gaiety reviews. I would be comped into the club where an usher would take me to my reserved seat, now decorated nicely in pink chiffon. There would be a hotline to Denise so that I could give her immediate access to my opinions and suggestions.

What's more, each dancer would have to be seen naked by me before his show, so that I could check that everything was in its proper place.

This offer has a contingency wherein if I also review the private dances I will get free Viagra for life. Each month I could select a resort of my choice to take the two Gaiety "dancers of the month" as chosen in my column, all expenses paid.

And the person making this offer is doing it just for you guys! He/she wants you to enjoy the Gaiety reviews, but knows that no one is going to do them for free, at least not with the detail, love and care NYO put into them!

So whaddya think? Should I take the offer?

 

(BTW, the offer also allows me to take one other poster with me to these monthly resort junkets!)

Wow! That's an amazingly generous offer. Assuming you have the free time, and there are no other unpleasant provisions that you haven't told us about, I can't imagine why you would turn it down.

>North or Cooper, either of you two up for it?.... No one wants to see the reviews come to an end. I had hoped Hoo-boy and NYO could work something out, but haven't heard anything. I don't mind publishing the weekly line-ups, but since I see the show regularly, the reviews aren't important to me. NO ONE should volunteer to do this job, it's very time consuming (and I really wonder if the hard work that goes into writing the reports and seeing show after show is appreciated). Who ever does it in the future should be compensated for their time and effort... Hoo-boy did mention that once he's back he would like to hear from the members as to the future of the reviews. If you have any suggestions, send it to him.
