stellas - could someone provide a brief "HOW TO"

ALthough I live in NYC most of my hiring takes place on frequent trips to Brazil. Some of the M4M'ers refer often to Stellas (and the Gaiety). Could some of you posters give me your opinions? Which is better Stellas or the Gaiety?

 

How is Stellas laid out and what are the best times to go during the week and on weekends. Is it easy to spot who is available for take home? Dont usually have a problem in a rio sauna but for some reason I think this might be more difficult. Are the guys ready to go as soon as you finish the negotiation or is this a long evening process.

Whats the usual fee for a one or two hour session? for an overnight?

What type boys (ethnic, age, "look') does one find at stellas? For some reason I kind of assumed that most are NY Ricans and want to check this out.

 

For the Gaiety - is it a good idea to go only for hooking up and bringing an escort to my home? I kind of get the idea that the performers are pretty much available for either a short session at their closeby hotel or a very late after the last show session. Are their boys there for a take home that are not performers. I usually don't enjoy stage shows but have little experience except for a boring hour at the Nob Hill last august.

 

I know this must seem pretty basic but most of this is not covered in detail on other posts here.

Read the topic before yours, "appearing at the Gaity the week of March 17" and you will get a good idea of what's in store for you there. Back in the good old days before the twin curse of aids and Giuliani the Gaity was a lot funkier and more sex friendly. You could go to the private room by the stage and do the guys for $50. Now it's pretty much over-priced muscle worship. You could go to Brazil for the price of a private with one of those guys.

 

At Stellas you have a better chance of having a satisfying encounter. There are dancers and a chance to get close and personal and grope a little as you tip. There are numerous feelancers around (many Brazilians, by the way) and they run the gamut - figure 100-200. My personal experience is that the more money they want, the less satisfying the encounter. (That's also been my experience with religion and spiritual "guides", the more emphasis on dollars, the less benefit from the experience. I think the two professions might have a lot more in common than one thinks at first)

On my recent trip to NYC, Cooper and Lucky took me to Stellas after we saw the Gaiety show. (My frist for both places). They had given me some basic guideines regarding how things worked at Stellas, and I think we were there about 10 minutes before I hooked up with a guy and left for my hotel. The price was $100 and I would say I got good value for the money. The next night I went to the Gaiety alone and hooked up with Luc from Canada who was the dancer I was most interested in the night before. I spent about twice the money, but again got full value for it. Don't know how it works for the locals, but I got over my shyness real quick. I just kept telling myself "do it before you chicken out" . The bar is in the center in a long rectangle. There are tables all around, a pool table in the rear and I am told an area downstairs where the dancers are on the weekend. One last trip to Stellas on my last night in the city (Wednesday) and it was go go boys night when they dance upstairs in the main bar area. This has been discussed in several threads. The other working boys range in age from 20'-30's Most if not all are good looking and i would say you can tell the ones that are working. But even if you make a mistake and come onto a cute guy who isn't a pro, what's the worst that can happen? You get a freebie.

I'm planning on coming to NYC the first week in April and I wanted to check out Stella's after reading about your exploits there. I've been to the Gaiety many times but now Stella's appears to more appealing to me. Your info has really helped answer my question, too on this. Sounds like a Gaiety/Stellas combo will be good to try this time.

I don't want to take anything away from the guys at the Gaiety. i totally enjoyed all the shows I saw (geesh, I went four times!) Three with Cooper..he has to do alot of research..two of those visits with Mr. Lucky as well. the guys who dance are really buff as you well know. While I thought the guys at Stellas were hot, they were not as BIG as the dancers for the most part (one of the few exceptions was Amir who was Cooper's date the last night I was there).

Since you are coming in from out of town, you will already have a place to go with whoever tickles your (insert your name for your friend here...as in Li'l jack).

I think the two places make a great combination for the evening. I enjoyed myself. I LOVE NEW YORK.

Thanks for the information about Stellas. I think it will help improve the evening for me to go there after the Gaiety. At the Gaiety, I prefer a dancer who is good looking, well hung and makes the effort to put on a creative, good performance. I have gone to the Gaiety since December 1997 while in NYC (usually before flying on trips Europe). But it was only in September 2002 that I worked up the nerve to talk to a dancer in the lounge and follow through with complete discussion of rate and private parameters and then have the private. I had a great time with the private but I still like to see good performers who put on a show. Unfortunately, only a few of the dancers put on such a show and my favorite dancer has retired from stripping. I like having the boys hang around me in a bar situation, so it makes sense to go to Stellas to may complete top off the evening.

 

By the way, if you are ever in Chicago, make sure you visit MadrigalsClub on North Clark Street in Andersonville northern suburb of the city. They have 5+ strippers on a small stage with a pole. The dancers make the circuit with the patrons for them to grab them and chat. There are lap dances upstairs ($20 with g-string on and $40 nude). Its a real fun neighborhood bar.

I grew up in chicago suburbs and went to school at NIU. 'course I wasn't "bent" then. I am afraid I got spoiled by Cooper, Lucky, JIM, hiJinx and all the other locals who helped me see NYC through their eyes. I have decided that when I travel again, I want to do the same where ever I go. Are you siging up for the job as my local rep when I come to Chicago? I should make a trip, my parents are both buried there and I ought to check out the " perpetual care" situation anyway.

Would love to meet you and other M4Mers in Chicago and you can show me all the hot spots and introduce me to all your recommended escorts.

How aggressive are the boys at Stellas? Would you say it is possible to go there and just enjoy the surroundings without looking to hookup or is it totally geared towards pickups?

I don't think you were asking me, but I'll give you my answer anyway.

I was cruised (I know, hard to believe) but no one came up to talk to me directly until the night the dancers were there (Wednesday). When I hooked up the first time (Friday) I did the work. Can't believe I actually did it tho. I think Stella's is a place I could go and watch without being disturbed. You on the other hand are going to get hit on for sure, you hottie.

I have never been to Rio, but through reading all the posts in the S.A. forums, I have planned a trip to Rio in October (for my birthday) I think I have reserved the presidential suite at the Atlantico (which I think you have reserved also. Let me know all about the rooms.), I have a confirmation # but they never confirmed the suite even after three emails. I am jealous of you guys meeting in April. It sounds like it would be a great way to discover Rio with some other M4Mers. I hope there are some posters there this October. I know Tomcal and some others go several times a year. Might even get lucky and meet Tri (the original Rio man) or Gringo. I am looking forward to going. The thing that made the NYC trip for me was the posters I met. They took me under their wing and showed me how their part of the city worked. I didn't have one bad moment even when i was alone. Cooper was a fountain of info: hotels, rstaurants (not one bad meal). Hope I can come close to duplicating that when i go to Rio. I plan to have Arthur Brazil (Carlo Coxx) as my guide for the 10 days I am there.

Enjoy your trip and don't forget to post a daily diary. It's a great way to have a hard copy of your trip highlights to pirnt out after you get back.

Jackhammer, for your info - basically the presidential suite is a one of a kind. It takes up half the roof and has a small (6'x10') private pool, umbrella table and 4 chairs, outdoor shower, large sauna, small living room with dining table 4 chairs and tv. the bedroom is immmense with a sitting area that has a sofa, bench and 2 armchairs. the bath is large with jacuzzi and separate shower room.

There are 2 junior-type suites on each floor that has a small LR with window, large bath with sauna, and large BR with window. they are at the two opposite ends of the floor and are nice. There is always the non suite half of the roof for lounging and sunning.

The regular rooms (eight or so per floor) are like a suite with a tiny LR but no window, the bath has no sauna, and some of the BR have twin beds.

I am sure that there will be a half a dozen or so posters there in october. I am going almost every six weeks and like it more and more each time. I might even be there.

 

Wish you were going to be there in April though. Tomcal, and tri have organized this party - 10 of us from US and about 10 boys from 117. It sounds like a dont miss. Maybe you should reconsider if you have the time to go. would be nice to meet anyone who like me loves NYC.

i find the upstairs(street level) quite civilized. if you get approached, they usually take a hint well. downstairs is another story. there are some pretty aggressive dancers, who, while you're trying to enjoy some of the beautiful dancers on stage will come up from behind, above, or below, grab you and not let go til you cough up a buck or get aggressive in return. all in all though, i think it's great. if you want to mingle, or be a slut go downstairs. upstairs you can usually find some hot, classier guys. if you just want to be a curmudgeon or voyeur, hide in a corner upstairs and watch the beautiful boys float by, and dream.

After all this talk about Stellas, I finally went there to see what it is like. Compared to the Gaiety, everyone has already pointed out the differences in price and type of guys dancing, but the most obvious difference that I noticed was the Gaiety dancers are 99% white, and at Stellas they're 99% black or dark Latinos. Is there a reason why there seems to be a segregation like that, or is that merely by chance? (yeah, I'm new to New York and very naive)

From what I have observed myself and from conversations with some of the dancers, Blacks and Dark latinos have a hard time getting business at Gaiety. It is not uncommon for people to get up and leave the main room when a Black dancer comes on stage.

Just seems to be the general tastes of the audience.
