I never had a massage by one of the masseurs in Rio, or Sao Paulo saunas. Just wondering when you get a massage by one of them, do you pay him directly like you do with the boys? or do get charged their fee on your way out, as you do for using suites, drink, food, etc..?

It works in different ways depending on the sauna and the garroto.

Some work for the house-and there is an option to pay for this at the desk.Others are independant and work as if you were hiring them for other activities(you pay for the cabine and pay the boy directly.)

At least that is my understanding in my brief experience with the Brazillian sauna scene.

Definitely not a stupid question. I have been trying to find a good way to locate a gay masseur in Curitiba without much luck. In the US, its easy to find a good masseur who is also into rubbing things beyond just my sore muscles. Unfortunately, I don't think Brasilians are as much into the whole massage scene. x(

Brazilians are extremely into things like massage and aromatherapy and all kinds of "alternative" health things. It seems extremely unlikely that you wouldn't be able to find a good masseur in Curitiba, or anywhere else in Brazil.

 

As noted, the payment system at the saunas varies. Many of the "working guys" will offer a massage, along with fun and games, and some of them are actually quite good at massages. But you're always taking a chance that the guy isn't. In any case, in this situation you have to pay the guy directly for services provided. However, most saunas (including the gay non-escort saunas) have house masseurs, often identifiable because they wear speedos with the sauna's name on them, or something similar. In that case, you usually pay for the massage on your tab. If the massage progresses to something else, you'd be expected to pay the guy directly for the cost of a programa in addition to the charge for the massage. If you want a professional massage at a sauna, ask at the desk if they have a house masseur and if he's qualified. You can always ask other clients there if they've used the masseur's services and if they're satisfied with them.

 

Most gyms have masseurs, too. Ask someone what gym they go to and if they have a staff masseur. Of course, these will be professionals (usually with certificates) and you're unlikely to have a "happy ending" to your session. But if what you want is a legitimate massage, you can find one just about anywhere, including spas and hotels. Good luck!

I just came back from Brazil and would like to second the above opinion. His name is Alex Darke and his hard/forte massage is addictive. Easy on the eyes too and the occasional gracing of his abs. He might not be there though since he mentioned that he will be away for some time in Thailand for training in Thai boxing. I am not sure what his arrangement with the management is since they added the 40 reais (for half an hour) charge to my key on my first massage and he asked me to pay him directly for all the subsequent ones. I gave him a 50 reais bill each time for which he seemed very grateful.

 

If you find yourself in Lagoa (in SP) though you will find one or two house masseurs who are trained and experienced and also are available for flings. The one I got was definitely hot and goodlooking his name is Mario.
