Going to Brazil and need some current recommendations:

1.) Hotel in Sao Paulo? - $150 - 200 range

Perhaps close to Thermas Lagoa...

Where is Thermas Lagoa in Sao Paulo....good to go there?

Any advice for an overnight escort in Sao Paulo?

2.) Hotel in Salvador? - on the Beach

I would greatly appreciate any comment. Looking forward to my trip.

Thanks a million!

Go to GayTravelBrazil.com and/or do an archival search here. Your queries will be answered, for others have asked the same questions a while ago and have received some great answers.

My Brasilian travel agent, Carlos, whose information is in the archives set me up with hotels (twice) while I was in Bahia (Salvador). Thus, I cannot make any recommendations except that you more than likely would desire to stay in the Barra area-- right near the beach... and easy to maneuver via taxi elsewhere in the city. Take taxis at night to your destinations...

I spent ten days in Salvador in December. By pure luck, the travel agency booked me into the Marasul hotel in Porto da Barra. It is just across the steet from what is supposed to be one of the two gay beaches in the city. Compared to the gay beaches in Rio, however, there was nothing about the beach that made it obviously gay such as a rainbow flag. There are many miles of beaches in Salvador but Porto da Barra is probably the closest to old historic center and the gay saunas.

Ditto re looking at the threads. There is much information on your questions in the archives. But don't worry about location too much in SP. It's very spread out and Lagoa is quite accessible by the subway. And cabs are very plentiful too. I would stay at somewhere more central/interesting and then travel to Lagoa. SF Traveler
