Brazil, a dream sublime, vivid ray of love and hope to earth descends,

Where in your clear, pure, beauteous skies

The image of the Southern Cross shines forth.

Thou art the gentle mother of the children of this soil,

Beloved land,

Brazil!

Best wishes to all. This is the thread I'll be posting from once I arrive. I plan to do my best to give you a daily update of my adventures. Since I spend enough time with computers here, I won't be bringing my laptop and looking for high speed access when I get there. But, I certainly don't desrespect those that do! Keep surfing, it helps pay the bills! :-)

And so, unfortunately I won't be posting current pics and I won't be seeking out the cutest escort listed on a Brazilian website. But I will post pics on the Rio Travel group when I get back.

I do plan to update you on the sauna scene there, maybe a few guys that come highly recommended at Corujinha's, and hopefully close encounters with Brazilian culture.

I've had my share of adoration in the day. At my birthday party -- a decade go??? I had an open bar for two hundred of my closest friends at my house with bartenders on the first and third floor. :-) This year will be about a few close and true friends.

I won't be discussing dollars or reais on my posts, but rest assured I've never been called cheap! :-) I'll be following the guidelines that Tri and others have laid out with generous tipping (of course) if they meet or exceed my expectations. From my experience, most of them do! But, I'll have to say my heart will be the ultimate judge of that, as well as their situation in life from communicating with them but by no means will I be extravagant. From my experience, it's fairly easy to tell the ones that are just out for the buck and will brag to their friends, from the ones that actually appreciate a little extra help.

As Song suggested, I'll keep my heart locked up in my safe box at the hotel so I won't be tempted by any 'caçador de fortuna' (gold-digger). But we'll see how the adventure unfolds.

Pleaes post in a Brazilian frame of mind, since that's the state I will be in. :-)

Here's my Valentine (Cesar) to whom I'm bringing an American football. He is very grateful for everything I do for him and I love it when he dances to 'Britney Spears' :-)

Brazil!"

Yes, Oz

I do have a DigiCam with a portable printer that plugs into the camera.

It's amazing to see the look on their faces when I print a foto of them from the day before and give it to them.

They also enjoy watching the video of themselves on the TV from the camcorder.

It makes them feel like total celebrities! :-)

And, I'll definitely make you a video clip of Cesar dancing to Britney when I get back. Saw a pic of your boy on BN's website and he IS a cutie. Cesar is also quite the dancer and I hope to take him to LeBoy with me one night.

Stay tuned,

Hi msclonly,

I'll be posting tales of my adventures right here. Plan on taking a lot of still shots and I can also make short video clips in AVI format. I'll be putting some of my favorite pics on the Rio Travel yahoo group site, but I'll be glad to share them with anyone that would like the entire collection (as well as the video clips) via e-mail! :-)

Had my last Portuguese lesson with my cute tutor, Melik. He was recently accepted at UCLA, so he has the brains to go with his looks and personality. We have to schedule lessons around his Brazilian Jiu-Jitzu lessons. :9 He also has the perfect Brazilian accent, and sitting next to him listening to him talk makes me think that I’m sitting in a sauna waiting for the next cabine. Too bad, he wasn’t wearing a towel! :-)

Tonight we talked about “jeitinho Brazileiro”, the Brazilian way which has connotations of how they find a way to get what they need by sort of skirting the system. Any examples would be appreciated to add to the ones he mentioned.

He also wants me to bring back a DVD of episodes of ‘Os Normais’ supposedly a popular comedy about life in Rio. I suppose they're easy to find.

Leave tomorrow with a stop over in Orlando, and then Saturday in Ft. Lauderdale. Might have a pre-birthday celebration at Johnny’s and meet a friend for dinner.

Rio, here I come!

>>>A very classy post.

Oz, a sincere thanks.

And now for the smut! }(

Trust me, I know what it’s like being in the middle of winter, snowing outside, and needing a Brazilian fix! :p

So for all of you that cannot join me in my adventure, here’s the next best thing.

I’m in no way advertising for this site or video, but if you find it interesting, thank me later!

Here’s the link:

http://template.aebn.net/tid/18/index.cfm?fuseaction=Archive.DetailArchive&listArchiveID=39350

The reason it caught my eye is because it features two of the sexiest, most masculine Brazilians I think I have ever cum across!

Anderson (and in all due respect, my good friend) is in it. And, I finally figured out what totally attracts me to him, it's his piercing eyes. As Oz would say Amazing!:

You should be able to find Os Normais DVDs at most music stores that sell DVDs, too (just about all of them, these days). Most complete is Modern Sound, but the Saraiva Mega Stores are also a good bet. (There's one in RioSul, on the 3d floor.) You can also mail order from Saraiva, either on-line or at the customer service desk in the store, if they don't have what you want in stock at that particular store. Delivery within Brazil is pretty quick.

When DVD shopping, be sure to ask for Os Normais the TV series, and not the DVD of Os Normais, the film that was made from the series (unless your friend also wants the film).

Talk about a potential let down!

My friends from San Francisco flew into Miami where I met them for our flight down. They joined me for my check in experience. I gave my passport to the agent, told him my flight number and he kindly informs me that I have no reservation on this flight. Talk about my heart falling into my stomach :(

He asked me for my confirmation number. Normally, I would have printed out a copy of the confirmation but I got behind preparing for this trip and neglected printing it out. He typed some more and told me the same thing. There were all kinds of things running through my head... did I book the wrong date??? So, finally after ten minutes of sweating bullets, he informs me that the reservation was made with my last name as my first and vice versa! Normally, I use travelocity, but this time I had went through yahoo. Trust me it was not a Yahoo! experience :-) So, I have learned a valuable lesson. Always bring your itinerary!

The flight was not bad at all. Arrived this morning with a little rain which cleared into a gorgeous day. I understand the weather should be great for the next few days. Francisco and JR informs me that I missed the two year anniversary of Pointe last night. Evidently, the place was packed and there were some beautiful strippers performing.

The Atlantico welcomed me with open arms and my favorite maid Maria was there to welcome me as well. Brazilians love birthdays and I received more happy birthday wishes that I can count. Maria informs me that she will only be working a few more days here, so she can spend more time at home. I told her that all the world loves Maria and she gave me a great big hug and wished me happy birthday.

The garoto I had totally fell in love with my first trip, I had written off as never seeing him again. Well, guess who I hear is back in time for my birthday. I have been showered with gifts, cards, and well wishes the entire day and it´s just beginning.

God, I love Brazil!

Tonight´s the night for the celebration. ihpguy, tried to call the number you gave me but it wasn´t you that answer. Hope you´re around this evening.

Tchau,

-Drey

Glad to hear that you arrived in Rio and are about to have a fantastic time. Thank you for posting the information regarding the retirement of Maria. She indeed is such a warm, loving person. She really does personify the soul of Brasil. Would you please tell her that Lloyd from Phoenix and Wan Hallen both wish her the best. She was definitely one of the people that attracted me to the Atlantico.

I am returning in May for a month, but will probably get an apartment. If any of you have any leads or advise, would appreciate it.

Unfortunately, my arrival at the Atlantico was not as welcoming as Drey's. I had a confirmed reservation through Carlo for three months now for a double room for two persons. When we arrived, we were three. The two people who would be sharing the room and one of our friends. The desk saw that we were three persons and said only two people could be allowed up in the room. I protested that only two would be living there but we would have a third visitor from time to time. Well, the desk pulled out their "new rules"which read that a room could never have in it, even for an hour or two, more than two persons. The desk would not even let the third person go up to help me unpack.

I was very upset and decided that I could not accept the room under those conditions. I had to find another place to stay then at the very last minute. I was very disappointed since during my other stays at the Atlantico, everyone had been so hospitable and I had been very generous in tipping the personnel, including the wonderful Maria alluded to above.

Well, in the future, my advanced planning will not include the Atlantico.

Other than this major hassle, Rio is absolutely wonderful. The people are so positive and optimistic, even when their financial circumstances are limited.

I hope you will contact Carlo and explain what happened to him. He should be able to work out something with the Atlântico so this doesn't happen again. There's no reason you shouldn't be able to have a visitor to your room, as long as s/he checks in at the desk and they hold the visitor's ID until s/he leaves (which is what many other hotels do).

My understanding is that there have been some recent "Boa Noite, Cinderela" incidents involving straight tourists, and the hotel is trying to get things under control, but this policy is excessive compared to what's needed to solve the problem.

Wow, where do I begin.

Brazilians love birthdays and I can´t imagine a better place to begin a new decade.

I was a little tired from the flight over but I was determined to have a great time which is not hard to do in Rio.

Francisco and JR had arranged for my birst Brazilian love affair, Pablo to arrive. But he didnt show up after Francisco waited an hour for him down in the lobby.

It had been a year and a half since we met, so I´m sure he probably didn´t remember me. But hopefully, some time this week I´ll see him again.

The group of the 5 of us went to 117 early taking the Metro across from the hotel.

Sunday night is a recovery night for some of the boys but there were at least 40 boys there. Francisco said that the Sat. night before had more boys and of better quality.

There were plenty though. Gus met a beautiful, muscular guy Vinicius - creamy skin and a gorgeous face. Spotted a boy with beautiful blue eyes that joined me - Paulo and he couldn´t keep his lips off my chest. Unfortunately, he told me he wouldn´t bottom, but I did take him up on the offer of a massage and BJ up in the cabine. I think they should give different colored towels for the ones that will bottom so we can tell them apart! :-)

Our favorite Anderson was the entertainment for the night - doing a strip show in his Jiu-Jitsu uniform. Anderson has buffed-up a bit from when I saw him last.

Those beautiful eyes lit up when he saw me. I asked him about his son and he prouldy said he was getting taller and doing well. As Song had suggested, I invited him to meet me on Friday to join me at Lapa. He accepted.

We arrived at Pointe around 8:15 where I met my Valentine Cesar. He was so glad to see me. He totally made up for me missing my first Brazilian love.

Gulliver was there and Luis (part owner) and they both wished me a happy birthday. The boys sang the Brazilian version of Happy Birthday to me and I blew out the candles on my first birthday cake of the evening. They were even playing the video that Bobby had made from his last trip on the big screen.

I wanted to be at Corujinha´s on time since we had made reservations and as I suspected one of our party -- Gus was stuck in the cabine. So after we left, Bobby went upstairs and shouted his name! Gus almost swallowed his garoto´s dick and the guy was certain the Policia had arrived :-)

At Corujinha´s, we had a large table and a great group including Tri. Had a wonderful conversation with Tri and thanked him for all his advice on the board. Corujinha´s was little slow on Sunday night, but that was the way I preferred it. Just a casual gathering of friends.

My friends were very kind in arranging all of this and sincere thanks to Tri for attending.

My valentine, Cesar was as loving as any lover I´ve ever had.

We left for LeBoy for my first experience there. There was no waiting in line and it was not overly crowded and filled with beautiful guys and girls.

Cesar and I danced out asses off and Eduardo went out of his way to meet me there as well.

Had a great conversation with Eduardo at LeBoy. He´s really a wonderful person and I danced with him as well.

I got back to the hotel totally exhausted with a big smile on my face!

Truly a splendid Brazilian birthday celebration :-)

Slept in after my wild Birthday night at LeBoy.

Since 117 is closed on Monday, we decided to check out a couple of saunas nearby including Roger´s that I hadn´t been to yet.

As we entered the lobby to leave, who was waiting but Cesar. He had gotten me safely home last night, but I was too exhausted for us to have sex. So, I invited him along for the evening. I know that´s like bringing sand to the beach, but I figured it to be a slow night as it did turn out.

Estacao was disappointing, not too many guys of any our types, and trust me, my friends have a wide range of tastes! :9

So, we headed to Roger´s. It´s no longer Lady´s Night on Mondays - at least real ladies! :-)

I´ve heard some good reports, but evidently Monday nights are not the night to go. There was not a good selection of boys there either. They were playing a porn video and Cesar recognized the bottom as being a friend of his from Sao Paulo! Small world! :-)

Cesar wanted to get in the hot tub, but it was ice cold. So, we opted for making out in the steam room instead. It´s not a bad place, but I guess it might need some getting used to. I´ll have to give it another chance later in the week.

Guess I was still recovering since we skipped 202, headed to Corujinha´s, then hadding back for our nightly get together in my suite at the Atlantico. We have not had any problems whatever, however, we always stagger the party --well some stagger more than others :-) by coming in two at a time.

Had great sex with Cesar before drifting off to bed with him in my arms...ahh Brazil! :-)

Tuesday already!

Woke with Cesar and we joined Bobby and Francisco for breakfast at the Hotel. Cesar wanted to go to the beach and toss around his new American football -- he is so proud of it, and actually all of the guys lust after it. The one that I picked out for him is a special edition red, white, and blue one and he loves it. If you ever want to bring a boy a special present, I´d definitely recommend one.

We went shopping for a sunga (swim suit) for him and walked over to Copacabana beach. The weather has been great! Sunny and clear. We threw the football around, he went swimming for a while, and then we mostly people-watched and catched some sun.

Two o´clock I met Clayton for an hour Portuguese session. We went over common words used in the saunas (especially the dirty ones) :-), verb tenses, and then conversational reading. He was on time, very prepared, extremely patient and made the experience fun.

Cesar met me back at the Hotel afterwards, and we had another romp in the sack. I have to admit, we´ve really connected this time, and I think my Portuguese being better helps. He asked me if he could spend the week with me, but I said no. He has such a good heart, giving extra money and food to those in need, and is a lot of fun to be around, but I didn´t fly 5,000 miles to be with one person! :-)

Tuesday night at 117 was hopping! We arrived early (around 6) to not

miss any of the fun. Eduardo joined us on the way over, and we relived our experiences at LeBoy. Asked him about the new sauna (Espacio??) nearby and he said there were usually only 2 or 3 guys there, but I plan on at least passing through it while I´m here.

The first person I ran into at 117 was Anderson. Was tempted to bring him his card, but I´ll wait until Friday when I know he´ll be there. He agreed again to go with us to Lapa on Friday. We talked for a good while and I asked him about his wife and he said they weren´t fighting much anymore. He offered to give me a special belated birthday present in a suite, and I gladly accepted! :-)

I made a video of him doing his Jui-Jitzu moves and he was a joy to watch. He pretended the hat rack was his opponent and unfortunately he broke it in two! we both laughed and said uh-oh mil (1000) realis (sorry, inside joke) :-) Well, this time with Anderson was even better than the last, and I was still remembering that for months! I guess my batteries are recharged :-)

I unexpectedly experienced Anderson kind heart as well. I locked my locker key inside the locker -- not a good feeling. He patiently helped me with the front desk and took the key down to open it for me.

What a gentleman! :-)

I decided to keep the suite for the night since it was in an ideal location, within a few feet of the lockers and not upstairs. Met a surfer-type guy with long black hair that had interested me Sunday night. He started by saying he wouldn´t bottom, negative mark, then he said he wouldn´t give BJ´s without a condom, another negative mark. I should have stuck with my point system, since he was lousy in the suite, and I ended up tossing him out in record time at what we agreed upon but no tip! x( That type of experience has rarely happened to me, but it usually does when I break my own rules!

I was determined to get back on that garoto (or horse I mean) :-) So, I spotted a cute university student named Felipe. He totally made up for dud surfer boy. Cute face, excellent bottom, and very affectionate. He told me his mother and father are not living and he is going to school at a university. Of course, I took good care of him, and he plans to call me later in the week.

Picked up the most gorgeous 19 year I have ever seen in Brazil. I´ll call him Angel even though his real name is Igor (trust me, that name does not fit him)! We went to Corujinha´s together, joked and had a greast time, then came back to the room where he begged me to top him.

He´s up in the bed right -- so what am I doing here typing! :-)

Tchau from Brazil,

- Drey

Now that the peak tourist season is over, the saunas and other venues are once again dependent on local clients, for the most part. Mondays and Tuesdays tend to be slower than later in the week. Also, many local clients feel squeezed financially towards the end of the month and cut back on their "entertainment" spending. Things pick up again after the first of the month, when everyone gets paid!

>>> From Big Daddy: Would you please tell her that Lloyd from Phoenix and Wan Hallen

I mentioned you both to Maria this morning, and her face lit and sang your praises. Lost my room key last night (or a garoto walked off with it!) and she helped me scour the room looking for it. She definitely personifies the soul of Brasil.

>>>> From Axiom: A super- birthday greeting I extend to you, Drey, on your special day!

Thanks so much for the well wishes, it was unbelievable. I still haven´t work up from the dream! :-)

>>>> From NYCPaul: The desk saw that we were three persons

nycpaul, sorry to hear your experience was not been as great as mine at the Atlantico. I have never had any problems as long as I´ve been discrete with the management. I would think that showing up with three people at any hotel in the US when only reserving a room for two at check-in time might be questionable. Couldn´t you have changed your reservation to a triple? that way you could have legitimately had a third person in your room.

I´m sure you wouldn´t want to pay less than the going rate, since you feel obligated in paying more than the going rate for the boys! :-) just kidding!

We decided, Wednesday, to take a break from Club 117 to visit the saunas nearby, Estacao and Point 202.

As Tri said, maybe it´s because of the time of the month and after carnaval, but I´ve never recalled Estacao and Point being so uninteresting.

Point 202 used to be my favorite sauna. Part of the attraction was the work-out area where you could watch the garotos hone their bodies in anticipation of your affection up in the cabine. The experience was not unlike being in a local gym or YMCA except with the extra benefits. :-)

Sadly, the work-out area is no more. I have a lot of respect for Junior and Luis for their part in both of those establishments, but it seems they are not able to attract the quality and quantity of good-looking garotos that Club 117 does.

A good many clients are also an incentive for the boys to show up. At Point 202, my friend Gus had one cabine and a Smirnoff Ice -- total bill R$81. Tuesday night at Club 117, I had an all-night suite, drinks galore, even paid for a garotos tab and the total was R$91. You could see why some clients might think twice.

Last night was Bingo night at Point 202 and Francisco won another! free programma with a garoto of his choosing. x( So, he chose the Bingo boy himself, who I admit would have been my choice. Tall, cute guy with a gorgeous body, as if that doesn´t describe 80% of them -- I know! :-)

Some of you might have remembered the boy I spoke of that was living in the Austrian villa. Well, guess who was back at Point 202 last night. Raul, himself! First time I´ve seen him in person and he is absolutely gorgeous. I´ll have to ask him how he´s adapting to being back in Brazil and what his exchange rate is! :-)

Spent the sauna time and the night with Cesar. I know I said I wan´t going to spend my entire time with him, but he is definitely class A material (see below). Each time I have sex with him, it keeps getting better and better! :-)

The following is Drey´s quasi-scientific index :-) to Garoto Classification (based on my own and friends judgement and accumulated trips of over 30 to Rio over the last 2 years). Enjoy! and thanks to Francisco, JR, Gus, and Bobby for contributing!

In reverse order...

Class C: Garotos with hard luck stories. Evidently all apartments in Rio rent for R$600 with the rent due the following day! :-) Garotos with cars in pending reposession also fall in this category.

Class B: Garotos that have their rent paid, but are in desperate need of a new cell phone or a trip to Rio Sul for a wardrobe makeover.

Class A: Never ask for anything except for an occasional bathing suit that we would enjoy even more. They enjoy life, not for the money we give them, but for the experiences we give them. They are the true Brazilians... full of joy and love of life and eager to share it with us.

Good luck in finding your Class A Brazilian garoto!

Today is my final day in Brazil. :(

Last night, we went to Club 117 and it was packed with gorgeous guys.

Gave Anderson his thank you card with a donation inside for his son.

The card was in Spanish but he understood it, and it was signed ¨From all your American friends, with love¨. He really appreciated it.

Then I treated him to my 19-year old bottom I call Angel. Angel really enjoyed the pounding he got from Anderson while he was giving me a BJ.

Cesar joined us at 117, and the group of us walked over to Lapa, maybe 5 blocks away. It was a gorgeous night, with the streets filled with shirtless men. The aroma from the food served by the street vendors, the gentle evening breeze, and the sights of hundreds of beautiful Brazilians was a sensory overload!

Anderson took us to a Samba Club which was unfortunately packed with people, but Cesar and Anderson showed off their Samba skills to the wonderful music.

Cesar prefers Disco bars to Samba bars and Anderson´s wife called, so Cesar and I headed over to LeBoy. I´m beginning to believe Cesar knows everyone in Brazil, and was the star attraction dancing shirtless beside the bar. Later, we went to an after hour party at Point which is not so much for the clients (no cabines), but an opportunity for the sauna boys to be themselves and socialize. The music was loud but great!

The last trip, I met Eric who I had nicknamed ¨my Brazilian Brad Pitt¨. Unfortunately, Eric is living in Portugal now, but the new Brazilian Brad Pitt is Ramon! :-) Francisco introduced me to him earlier today, and we had great sex in my hotel room.

All in all, I´ve had a great trip, and many thanks for the birthday wishes. I had great sex, of course, but some of the best times were sitting in the room at the Atlantico with the ¨Five Sisters¨ reliving the experiences of the day. My new favorite Brazilian word is ¨tranquilo¨, and it totally summarizes their view of life.

I still haven´t seen my first Brazilian love, Pablo, but Cesar has definitely taken my mind off him.

Tonight, I´ll be giving the local saunas another chance. Couldn´t convince anyone to venture to Spa 73 or the new one close to 117 with me. Wish I could have visited more places while I was here, but I did experience ¨tranquilo¨ :-)

Good bye from me, and the gentle mother of the children of this soil,

Beloved land,

Brazil!
