Return to Paradise: Part Three

[Big Daddy]

I am returning to Paradise on November 3rd, to spend a month with meu bebito Wan Hallen. I have been actively recruiting converts to our secret cult of the worship of most things Brazilian, especially the warm, generous and beautiful people. My friend Bob, once he saw all the photos that I among others have taken, immediately converted and will be on Continental Flight 93, direct to Rio with me. Also have a lesbian friend who would like to bring her husband (or is it wife?)to Rio. To be honest, I am not familiar with the lesbian scene, but cannot imagine that they would not have a great time. Any hints on the lesbian action would be appreciated.

 

I am now in the decision stage of hotel vs apartment. I loved our high rise apartment from my May visit, but also really enjoyed the Atlantico. I would not return to the Royal Rio, because to be blunt, it is too much like the downtown Phoenix Hyatt. The Atlantico may be a bit under the tooth, but damn, she is a fun place. I am leaning toward the Atlantico as I think that Bob would have a better initial experience there.

 

This is my third foray into Brazil and would like to spend my second two weeks seeing other parts of the country. Wan Hallen does not appear to be very thrilled about Sao Paulo. (Lagoa is his secret favorite hangout and I am not supposed to know). He has let me know that he will go anywhere that I want. Actually thinking about taking him to Buenos Aires for a few days. Would appreciate any current tips as to favorite haunts that any of you may know.

 

Wan Hallen asked me to pay for a liver transplant for his sick grandmother. He did say that he would settle for a pair of Nike Shocks, size pretty big (do not know the Brazilian size translation). I suspect that the liver transplant may be cheaper than a pair of overpriced Nike tennis shoes but will have to see. He also wants an Arizona shirt and shorts and a new Arizona bone. OK, bone is a cap and not what all you nasty minded cult members thought it was.

 

I am taking Portuguese lessons once a week with Daddybear, who along with Daddybear makes up the team of Daddybear's. They are also returning to Paradise the end of October.

 

Last night I made my national television debut on Showtime. The show will be repeated several times this weekend. In my interview, I discuss the pros and cons of going to a Brazilian sauna vs hiring from a Brazilian escort agency. Actually, I am being interviewed on the Penn and Teller Show regarding treatment options for alcohol and drug treatment. I forgot that the show was on last night, so missed it. Will catch the repeat tonight. The premise of the show is that there are alternatives to 12 Step treatment.

BD, I'll be in Brazil the entire time you're there and I certainly hope we can get together. Until Nov. 9, I'll be in Fernando de Noronha, an island up north with some gringo friends who are more into diving in a gorgeous nature preserve than in those Rio temples to Brazilian beauty that you and I prefer! after that, I'll be there until the 27th but with no firm plans yet. I think that my beau, Davi, has to go back to work then so I'm on my own. maybe I'll get an apartment on the street where 117 is and just wallow in it. As the Atlantico is just too decrepit for me, I'm staying somewhere else, maybe the Royal maybe somewhere else. Keep us up to date on your plans and I'll do the same. SF Traveler

I've been trying to get a small apartment in the area of sequeiro campus with cable TV to no avail. Guess it will be the Atlantico for me also.

Driver, have you sought Carlo's assistance in your apartment hunting? If you haven't-- I'd use his expertise if I were in similar shoes as you! :-)

One of the two he suggested seemed suitable but at US$900 it worked out the same price as the Atlantico. Other apartments (in copacobana with cable) were much cheaper but not in that area.
