I'm doing fine and am into more sexualy experimentation than ever before, but this operation did effect my ability to have an erection.

I am thinking of spending several weeks in Rio to relax and just hang out (with some limited suana visits). Can anyone recommend a really nice hotel or apartment (pricey is more than fine) where I can just chill out, run on the beach each morning, read and listen to Brazilian music (looking forward to expanding my large CD collection).

Frommer's mentions the Hotel Marina All Suites in Leblon, which seems perfect on paper. It's cheaper than the Caesar Park and your get an entire suite right across from the beach. I undertand that the distance from the saunas and the high price means that few if any DLs have ever stayed there, but hope someone can help.

A word on prostate cancer. I had a very low PSA, but knew that something was wrong because I was very tired (sometimes for hours) after coming, so asked for a biopsy. Lucky, the cancer had not spread. I am not sure anyone has ever discussed this subject on this site before -- it was not easy, but I am glad that I brought it up (so to speak). Please, please: everyone 50 or over have a prostate exam and PSA every year.

Well, erection problems or not, there's always SOMETHING to do in Rio, and the escorts won't give you a hard time (so to speak) about your degree of rigidity. I know there are other M4Mers who've gone through prostate cancer, too, so you're not actually alone here. I'm sure you'll hear from some of them.

As for where to stay, the Marina All Suites is supposed to be very nice and gay friendly, but a bit out of the action. The Royal Rio is also very nice, in the W hotels style, and just a couple of blocks from the beach in Copacabana. It's more conveniently located for many activities, and is probably less expensive than the Marina. In spite of some occasional ditziness, it's a very attractive hotel. And M4Mers who've stayed there say it has comfortable beds and pillows!

Thanks for the quick response Tri,

I do intend to stay in Copacabana nearer the saunas part of the time, did not mean to give the impression that enjoying the guys was not one of the main purposes of the vacation. But, it would also be nice to stay in a first class hotel and relax for the second week. I have been to Rio several times, so have seen most of the city. As I have posted before, I really like Ipanema.

I have been on the MS for four years and can not remember anyone discussing prostate cancer. I brought it up (so to speak) because

many guys seem to be uncomfortable with doctors, especially on this subject. Although, in my experience, straight guys are much more uncomfortable than gays.
