The answer is "yes." You just need to talk to your travel agent. Or talk with airlines who fly both parts of the route (i.e., American, United, Varig, LAN Chile, etc.)

 

Of course, you'll need to find yourself a way to get between B.A. and Rio to catch your return flight. You may find that the cheapest way is to buy a round-trip excursion ticket between Rio and B.A. and just use one of the coupons, throwing away the other one. The cheapest fares on that route can only be purchased in Brazil or Argentina, so make that your first priority when you arrive in South America. This is also a situation where the Mercosul pass can work in your favor; ask about it with Varig or Aerolineas Argentinas (which usually has the cheapest Rio-B.A. fares these days).
