Over the weekend, finally confirmed my reservations on Continental, and will be arriving April 30th, staying until May 18th. I was able to get a 1st class seat going over for 35,000 ffm. Hopefully, being in the front will get me off quicker, and through immigration so that I can be at Point 202 by their 3 PM opening(LOL).

This is only my second trip, but feel far more confident and comfortable than my first venture to Rio. The first trip was an adventure into the unknown (not really, thanks to all the information posted here). I guess the unknown part was how could the information posted be true. I was thinking that even if the posts were only half true, that I was in for one hell of an experience. I had no idea that the posts at best only scratched the surface.

What I found in Rio is very hard to put down on paper (cyber paper that is). Yes, there are countless really hot men, and the saunas were there at my beck and call. What I started to discover on my first trip, and what I hope to continue to discover, is not the wild, freely available, anything you can possibly want in sex thing, but the fact that I discovered the people.

OK, I know I am opening my self up to some ridicule, but by my 3rd day, my back really hurt. I went to the pharmacy close to the Atlantico and was asking the pharmacist what he could recommend to help me. I fully expected him to offer some type of prescription pain pill, but even before he could answer, a Brazilian customer next me excused herself for hearing my question and told me what she used for a "hurting" back. She then spent 15 minutes talking to me, yes about my back, but also was I having a good time in Brazil, and was I going to see Jesus (Christ the Redemmer), Sugar Loaf and so on. This is just a small example of how friendly and nice the Brazilian people are.

I understand completely when Hooboy talks about it being very hard to deal with the guy who ripped him off. It happens all over. When I returned home in November, I noticed several things missing from my house. My "straight boy friend"/House Boy had let a guy whom I have known since he was 12 years old into my house for a few days. He is now 32, and I would never have thought he would take advantage of Jon, who did not watch him, or me. But he did. Mark I am sure thought I would just get over it, and he could return. Wrong! At least the Brazilian apologized.

On the second day that I was in Rio I met Wan Hallen. On my first night, I saw him at Jabba's but held back from talking to him as I was still a bit inhibited. I saw him at Estascao the nexy day and told him I had seen him the night before. He also remembered me. Before I knew it, I asked him to meet me at Jabba's that night. Well, I got to Jabba's and started being part of the "gringo crowd". About a half an hour later up walks Wan Hallen and he comes right up to me and hugs me. Many of the guys that read these posts know that Wan Hallen was basically with me the remainder of the time I was in Rio. We saw the sights together, we went to dinner together, we laughed together, yes we made love together, and when I had to return to Arizona, we cried together. Wan Hallen gave me back something that I thought was lost. The ability to love and to be loved.

Yes, I know that I am a walking ATM and that I gave Wan Hallen money. The thing is, he never asked for money (never turned it down either). I took good care of Wan Hallen while I was there because I wanted to and because he literally took good care of me. I spent less on him during almost 3 weeks, than what US escorts are paid for a weekend. One thing that I know is that he sincerely appreciated the money and sent a good part of it back to his mother who lives in the "midwest" (When I asked SF Traveler where the town that Wan Hallen lived in was, he told me just to consider it Brazil's midwest)

Isreal, a roommate of Wan Hallen and Adriano came to my room to rub my back, because Wan Hallen had told him how bad it hurt, and he took the 200R, when I was in the bathroom. It was Wan Hallen and Adriano who told me about it. They were really upset in that they thought it would reflect upon them. Like Hooboy, I was more pissed at being ripped off by a guy I trusted than anything else. While I posted the incident to the board, I never reported him to Junior who owns two of the saunas, or anyone else. I figured his Karma would get him. Like Tomcal, I always put extra cash and credit cards, passport in the safe. I usually had 400R or 500R out, and things like the camera. (That is why Isreal was able to get only the 200R)Nothing else was ever taken that I can account for.

Wan Hallen called me this morning and told me again that he loves me and that I am very special to him. He did not ask for money. He was so happy to learn that I have my plane reservations to return. He is going back to Rio for Carnival, and boy would I give anyone's right nut to be there with him. Anybody that see him during Carnival, please tell him that I love him. But he knows that already.

I went to Rio looking for sex at 50R a pop. Yes, I found all the sex that I could only imagine before, but I found something even better. I found the Brazilian people, and I found love.

Big Daddy,

I am so jealous that you are able to go back to RIO so soon. I know how you feel, since I too found more than I thought possible in RIO.

I know you will have a great time. You are a really nice guy and you get back what you give. People treat you with respect because that's how you treat them.

With a jealousy that is pure, I am the green one.

;)

Big Daddy, thanks for letting me/us know about your plans! I truly extend my bests to you and Wan Hallen. If my friend gets his act together, we just might run into you before you leave: I plan to stay at the Atlantico; he'll be staying elsewhere, I think!

Your third paragraph was moving, and as you continued to reflect, I began to recapitulate the night that Jackhammer, Alex, and the two American guys from Florida, and I went to dinner at that wonderful Japanese restaurant. The Floridians arrived at the Atlantico after being taken "for a ride" in a nonliteral sense; then JHammer and Alex and I missed them at the restaurant; we thought they had been exploited again. We three waited outside of the restaurant in the rain for a good half hour plus. Then something clicked, and the three of us decided to go inside of the restaurant to wait. Well, our friends had arrived way before we had and were waiting in the restaurant. When Jackhammer began to discuss with them about their first encounter with their taxi driver, Alex overheard him and offered to pay back the guys. At the sight of his gesture-- I was moved and was on the verge of tears; his funds were much more limited than our American friends, and they were not out of a big bundle. One had to have been there to realize what I am attempting to convey.

(And before fellows begin to chide me for citing the next to the last line in the above, I do believe in the commandment of "THou shall not steal." This applies to all in this world of ours! Remember all of the white collar theft that went on two years ago? It is still going on in various and sundry places! Remember who was hurt BIG TIME in the long run! I don't condone theft!)

BigDaddy- I, too, concur! The Brasilians here and there are wonderful people!
