I am curious to know if anyone from this site will be in Rio on Christmas Day, and would like to meet for dinner etc.

Actually, yes! There are a number of us here, and a couple of them have already asked the same question. We haven't decided on anything definite yet, but watch this thread for any detailed announcements!

 

Jake, Gringo, et al.: What do you think? Thanksgiving Dinner at the Marriott was so pleasant it might be worth a repeat! If you guys will RSVP (no later than next Friday) I'll see about making a reservation. Don't know the price; the Thanksgiving buffet was R$65 and I'd be surprised if Xmas came to more.

RE: XMAS DINNER IN RIO

 

Guys, I STILL don't have any definite confirmations. If you want to do Xmas dinner, and have arrangements, I need to hear from you by tomorrow (Friday)! The new BF is here and you'll understand that I have bigger and better things to do than spend all my time party planning!

 

One of our M4Mers is having Xmas dinner catered in the Penthouse Suite at the Atlântico, and, if it turns out we don't have TOO many folks, he's invited everyone to join him and his friends! The menu and price will be about the same as at the Marriott (approx. R$65 per person). However, he'll have to know by Monday so he can inform the hotel of final numbers, so PLEASE let me know if you want to be part of an M4M Xmas!

 

If it turns out the numbers are too many to be comfortable at the Atlântico, we'll do the Marriott and reserve as many tables for six as we need. (It's nicer at a smaller table, and we can just table-hop between courses to be sociable!)

 

OK, last chance to confirm! I need to hear by midnight TOMORROW!
