For your own peace of mind I'd suggest buying it here and taking it with you to Brazil. However, you can buy it at any drugstore and a prescription doesn't seem to be necessary. It's not particularly cheap in Brazil, as I recall. I haven't purchased any there in more than a year, so I'm not up on current prices. There may now be generic Viagra available, though, and that would be less expensive.

I went into a pharmacy in Rio and had NO trouble buying four 50mg tabs for about US$6.00 each.

However, I don't think they were as powerful as the US variety.

I have no way of proving this allegation but do consider that you may no be getting a full dose.

BTW, I think some of the new Viagra competitors have also gone on sale in Brazil. One is called Levitra, and I think that's the one that's supposed to last for 36 hours! I'm sure if anyone's tried it (or bought it in Brazil) there are going to be eager readers waiting for a report on its effectiveness!

Using Viagra?

I hope these are not silly questions, but not having used Viagra myself, I would value the comments of those that have experience of its use.

Do you take it before you play with the first (of several) guys?

Or is it better taken after you have had sex, and need the "extra" to play again?

And does it work after you have climaxed, ie do you keep an erection throughout and go on to have multiple orgasms?

Thanks!

RE: Using Viagra?

viagra needs a sexual stimulus to allow the flow of blood to the little general. So after sex one tends to deflate but as soon as some little cutie starts playing up to you at the bar you soon find him starting to stretch to attention again.

I suspect in some cases it prolongs the moment before I cum but I usually take one before any sex if I know that I am either going to do more than one guy or if I want a few beers as well.

If I just want to see one guy and be done with it then I wont take it. Mind you if the guy is only so so and not very good in bed he will get the impression you REALLY like him so it can come in handy.

RE: Using Viagra?

It's always a good idea to talk with your doctor before using Viagra or one of its new competitors. You don't want to keel over because you've got a blood pressure or heart problem you didn't know about! Also ask about possible side effects, so you know what to expect.

Otherwise, if everything's OK, you're supposed to take Viagra about an hour before you expect to have sex. Supposedly it works for about 4 hours, but some people find it continues working for up to 24 hours after taking it.

It does take stimulus to achieve an erection, even using Viagra. You don't just walk around for hours with a perpetual hard-on! Presumably these drugs will help you achieve an erection even after you've recently had sex and an orgasm with one partner, so you can play with more than one guy. However, Viagra only works on erections, not orgasms. Those depend on other things, including your physical capacity for multiple orgasms and how stimulated you are!

When To Use Viagra?

Thanks for the replies and the information. I am upto speed on the possible side-effects and when NOT to use Viagra.

I can understand not using/needing it to top one guy...But I am still confused on when guys use it for recreational purposes.....if you are in a group, do guys take it after topping one guy and before topping another? or are the effects so long-lasting that you take it at the outset and then can top various guys over a period of time?

And what dosage? I know individual needs vary, but I've heard of guys cutting a 50g tablet in half and of others taking a whole 50g tablet.....what is the common experience of a dosage that's enough?

RE: When To Use Viagra?

Viagra's long-lasting enough to get you through a session at the saunas, so take it an hour before you go. You don't want to take it AFTER going to the saunas, because it can take an hour to kick in.

Most people seem to buy the 100mg tabs and split them, in order to take a 50mg dose. However, each person reacts differently to these drugs, so a bit of trial-and-error is necessary. Start low with Viagra (25mg) and work your way up by 25mg increments until you find the dose that works for you without causing any side effects. Your doctor can help you figure this out by providing you with samples at different dosage levels so you can mix 'n' match to find the amount that puts the lead back into your pencil!
