Hi,

Does anyone know a website that would have a good city street map of São Paulo? I am hoping to visit there on my next trip and want to familiarize myself with the city a bit. Thanks. Robb

P.S. If there is anyone who hasn't seen my Rio pics, email me.

I don't know of a general city map. If you can manage some Portuguese, and know the address of a place you want to go, you can use the map service at http://www.uol.com.br/tempo In the frame on the left there are options for map searching in 40 Brazilian cities.

There should be a Metro map at http://www.metro.sp.gov.br/

There's a Lonely Planet folding map of SP, I think, available at map stores, and you can buy maps/street atlases of SP at most Brazilian newstands or bookstores.

Buy Guia Sao Paulo Quatro Rodas at the airport. The streets are listed alphabetically. Even the taxicab drivers use this.

I completely agree with Otorag, your best bet is to buy a Quatro Rodas Guia for São Paulo. As the internet map won't suffice for São Paulo is a huge city double the size of Rio.

As for Rio, you should only buy such guide if you were to venture yourself outside Centro and Zona Sul areas (for the maps provided by the hotels are good enough), but if you plan to go nice bars such as Sintra or 1140, you'd better buy this guide as well.

Um abraço,

:D
