HI EVERYONE. I will be in Sao Paulo from May 16 through May 19 and had hoped to find a guide to show me around the city some of the time I am there. Since I speak no Portuguese, the ideal person must speak some English. Also, I would prefer someone over 25 (tho not absolutely necessary.) Arthur is not available during that time. Any suggestions? Thanks.

If Bruno Gaucho is available, try him. His English is improving, he is almost 25, and although he looks young, he can be quite mature and responsible. He is also a very, very sweet man who knows a lot about Sao Paulo.

While Bruno would certainly be one way to go, I used a friend of Carlo's who is a travel agent in Sao Paulo. His name is Wiron Centra and his cell, in Sao Paulo, is 011 (area code for SP) 9246 4317 and his regular phone is 5572 5406, same area code. He is about 40 and speaks very good English. He drove me and my friend around all day for US$100 and then took my friend, who didn't want to go to Lagoa with me, out with him and his friends to a club that night. My friend, being Italian, wanted to go to s shopping mall--it is Sao Paulo after all, and he really enjoyed the one (Morumbi) we visited. Wiron can tailor the tour to your interests so it would probably help to discuss what kinds of things you are interested in in advance. He can also help with your intra-Brazil travel/hotel needs. Besides MorumbiShopping, which is one of the larger and nicer ones in SP, shop-a-holics should check out Shopping Iguatemi, on Av. Brig. Faria Lima. Faria Lima is the newest major business center in SP, located on the west side of town. Shopping Iguatemi has been around for a long time, but I understand it's been revitalized recently to feature major upscale shops (like Tiffany's Brazilian branch!) so it's probably worth a visit. Of course, there's also the shopping district on r. Oscar Freire in the Jardins, which is lined with upscale shopping, too. Not to mention the very nice Patio Higienopolis shopping center, in an established upscale neighborhood of high rise apartments, not too far from downtown.

So whip out those credit cards and help keep Brazil green!!!

Hallo Twocanbethree,

My best suggestion to you would be to hire a real guide for the guiding tour, 'cause few escorts know the city pretty and the real nice places to go (São Paulo is huge...). Arthur is definitely exception to this rule 'cause prior to becoming a michê, he worked as a guide and is well travelled and cultured.

If you want we can provide you with a real guide that can take through São Paulo, if Wiron Cintra (who took care of SFtraveller) isn't able to in these dates, we can get you another one. And our price is US$ 50.00 for every 4 hours, and he would pick you up and take you anywhere you wanted.

We at Romanus provide this sort of service not only in Rio and São Paulo, but also in Salvador.

Visit our website: http://sites.uol.com.br/romanusrj

As for escorts, you should be able to find great ones with Apollus or on your own as you stroll to Termas Lagoa... And once in São Paulo you ought to go to Bailão on Friday night and there you will also meet beautiful boys, but don't go there on your own. Take your guide along.

Um forte abraço,:7

If I were you, and if it hasn't already been accomplished-- I'd telephone Carlo Romanus right away so that he could provide the services that you're seeking; currently he's working on some major projects, but a ring to him should be in order since you plan to be in SAMPA soon. Note his new website which lists telephone numbers in both Rio and Sao Paulo; also he has a fax number.

A cyber friend, another M4Mer used Carlo's services and wrote extensively to me via direct email regarding these services. My cyber friend and fellow M4Mer was indeed pleased! I plan to use Carlo's services extensively while I'm in Brazil with two months from now. I'm indeed rather excited although this will be my third trip-- the charm!

Just dittoing Axiom's point: If you require the services of a travel agent, a guide, need to make hotel reservations, etc. in Brazil (or anywhere else) you need to contact the service provider directly by phone, fax or e-mail. Simply posting an appeal here isn't likely to get you what you need (other than referrals).

Newbies are asked to do a LITTLE homework before traveling by reading standard guidebooks plus the materials here on M4M. Please review the information in the "Escorts South" FAQ section, and also use the "Search" feature WITHIN the Message Center to find threads containing information about topics of interest to you. Try key words like the name of the city or country you're planning to visit plus words like "guide", "escort", "sauna", "hotel," "motel," "travel agent," etc. For example "São Paulo guide." Limit your search to this site only and you should find just about everything that has been posted on the topic by fellow M4Mers.

Hope you have a great time in SP!
