This is an outstanding stud but the reviewer paid WAY too much! He's available through Germanos for $40 US (R$125) and delighted to get it. Did the poster cofuse reals with dollars?

Jake was referring to an escort review posted for a Mike in Rio.

The reviewer was charged $100 US and tipped an additional $50 and thought it was a great deal. (it pays to read this message board!)

I had a somewhat similar experience back in October. LIke the reviewer, I e-mailed about an appointment with Gil (see Rio Escort Reviews) and exchanged messages with his friend Johnny, who is an American ex-pat who handles communication in english for a few Brasilian friends who aren't fluent in english.

During our e-mail exchange Johnny quoted a rate of 100 R for a visit to Tomcal Towers. When I arrived in Rio and confirmed our appointment by phone the rate was $100 US! No o o o o o o , I don't think so. Johnny tried hard to sell me on the idea that Gil (Jeel) was a fabulous guy and - and - and but I stuck to my guns (I checked the original e-mail when I returned and he did clearly quote the rate of 100 R) Johnny is a charming and interesting guy and leads a fun life in Rio; AND he tries to get as much money as he can for his friends.

Yes, 24 hrs later, we finally agreed on a session for 100R. Gil is a nice guy, handsome muscle hunk and reasonably ardent lover. Worth 100R YES!

$100US? no!

Mural of the Story: With a little practice you can do just as well or better in the saunas. (Have you heard that somewhere before??);)

This story just highlights the point that these Brazilain studs, who can get 100$R in Rio ($40) for their services, by merely taking a plane to the USA, can up their fee to $150 to $250 or more (a la Bruno). Two different markets, two different prices for the same service. Sort of like Americans buying cars made in Canada and shipping them back home, same car, cheaper price.

The confusion is made when a client gets on a plane and flies to Rio, and then pays USA prices in Rio. Must be something in the water to make them lose their senses!:+

Yes guys, there is one born every minute and I just hatched. I have been to Rio three times and am very familiar with the saunas and other hustler scenes. However, I never tried an agency. While viewing one agency's site, I was carried away with the photo of one particular fellow. I telephoned the agency, verified that he still works for them and received a price of R$150. O.K. the price is very high, but I made arrangements to meet with the guy anyway. After arriving at the agency (the owner's apartment), the owner telephoned a friend of his who spoke English. I do not know why he did this because all of the arrangements had been made - so I thought. The fellow on the telephone informed me that the complete price for two hours was R$200. I informed him that owner had told me R$150. The fellow on the phone said Apparently I did not understand Portuguese very well. I understood the price and also I understood what was taking place. I paid the price anyway; however, I shall NEVER use the agency again. How sad for the agency and people who gauge others for all that they can get. They may succeed in the short term, but look what they loose in the long run - that is the difference between and successful long term business and the fly by night businesses.

Dick nyc, I'd presume it could be written at this site for all to see and to be specified if anyone else asks about agencies. When I sought the services of Marcio at Apollus in October-- it was $80 for ninety minutes. In February I asked about a threeway-- the price quoted was $110 each. I didn't pursue this encounter.

In October-- Johnny (Gringorj) who makes arrangements for Gil asked for $100 per hour; when I wrote him in January about a future date, he wanted to charge the same amount; I stated that Apollus's rate was $80 for ninety minutes; Johnny agreed to it for Gil, but I still didn't pursue; I went another avenue-- Russo (freelance from Apollus's-- note today's review 4/21/03) and the saunas.:9 :9

PS One Brasilian escort who knows many of the fellows and their telephone numbers supposedly stated to one reviewer that he'd contact the guys for him and that the rate would not be that charged by an agency. Read the Rio reviews and enjoy...
