Can someone post some information on the days of the weeks and the hours that are best for the saunas. What time do they open, how late are they open and when should I expect to find the most and best boys.

Any information on the discos and bars as far as operating hours would be appreciated as well.

Please go to the Escort Reviews. Click on "Mexico & South America," then on "Brazilian Saunas" and read the first, semi-world-famous review there for many of the details you're interested in.

In general, the saunas open around 3:00 p.m. and close around midnight. They begin to get busy around 5:00 p.m., when the after work crowd begins showing up, and slow down around 9:00 p.m. On Sundays, things may get busy a bit earlier. Only a few saunas are open all night; those that do so usually only keep those hours on Friday and Saturday nights.

There's rarely a "bad" time to go, because the saunas work on having a supply of boys available throughout their opening times, so you're likely to find someone who interests you no matter when you go. In Rio, 117 closes on Mondays. Estação, Roger's (if it's still in business) and Point 202 are open seven days a week.

In smaller cities, like Belo Horizonte, some of the saunas seem to have their day of the week when they get bigger crowds, like Fridays at the Hot House in BH. But that's not necessarily the case in all cities. Most of the saunas have promotional events to attract clients on different days of the week, so pick up a copy of their schedules when you go, or look for their ads in the free bar papers like "O Grito" or "Abalo."

Bars (as opposed to discos) get going around 11:00 - 11:30. They're busy 'til about 1:00 - 1:30 and then people go to the discos, which are open 'til dawn. If you go to a disco before 12:30 a.m. it'll probably be empty. There are no official closing hours, so many places will stay open until the last customer leaves.

  • 3 weeks later...

Tri has pretty much summed up about Rio's saunas, bars and discos... The only bad day for bars and discos is Monday. But they only get busy after midnight, not prior to that. There are a number of different bars and discos though... if you're into Muscle Mary's go to Le Boy, if you are into black boys go to Buraco da Lacraia, if you're into nice middle class white boys go to Galeria on Thursday and Zero Zero on Sunday for their tea dance...
