got an email from a fellow poster this morning who informs me that the opening party was a blast with lots of muscle boys from Sao Paulo present - huge and modern.

apparantly, he got togethor with mavica and friend and they all had a great time at Estaca. As someone who loves rio, i am glad their trip ended on an upbeat note.

I met-up with Sucker in Rio yesterday, but not at Point 202 . . . it didn't open on time, wasn't finsished yet (opening was tentatively pushed-back to 5 p.m.). . . and I needed to head out to the airport at 8 p.m. Sucker, my traveling companion, and I went to Estacao when we couldn't get into Point 202 at 3:30 p.m., and all three of us had a good time (not too many guys, low-level intensity, some nice-looking guys). I think Sucker moved into the matramonial suite overnight . . . with a newly found husband! Sucker may have gone on to Point 202 later, but when we left him at 8 p.m. in the hotel, he said he was going to take a pass, because a date was soon to arrive. I hope he went and had a good time, he's a nice guy and it was good to connect a name to a face.

What is their web address again? I know, I know, "search the archives." But seriously, the "search" function hasn't always yielded me a usable answer in the same day ... And my fingers are greasy and twitchy already ...

What you see . . . is not always what you get!

About the guys appearing in the online ad for the club . . . yea, I'll arm wrestle you for one of 'em. However, from a first-hand report I received from a visitor on the first night, and succeeding nights . . . the quality of guys dropped considerably after the opening-night party. I'm left with the impression that, basically . .. the hustlers working at Point 202 are many of the same faces seen at the other places. So, like with other ads for products . . . what you see is not always what you get! I'm a bit surprised that those participants of this board who are in Rio at the moment haven't posted about their visits . . . but, with the hustle and bustle of Carnaval . . . that's understandable! Here's hoping that the club is all that people expect it to be.

RE: What you see . . . is not always what you get!

Considering who runs the club (Edgard of Lagoa and Junior of Estação) I'm sure the quality of the guys at Point 202 will be everything any visitor to Brazil could expect. Even that extremely picky slut, Mavica, who, based on his recent postings, will undoubtedly stoop to doing at least a dozen or so of the guys at Point 202 the next time he's in Rio. Of course, Mavica's sure they'll all just be homely, second-rate hustlers, but evidently Mavica is susceptible to their homely, second-rate charms after all!

The rest of us think the guys at the Rio saunas are many cuts above either homely or second-rate! Porn movie casting directors, including Kristen Bjorn, concur, because they've cast any number of hot flicks with guys from the Brazilian saunas!

A first hand Trilingual report will be forthcoming sometime after March 21st!

RE: What you see . . . is not always what you get!

OK guys, I've visited 202 twice, once last Friday about 5:30 to catch the early crowd - which wasn't. Only a half dozen very so-so boys and the place was a little warm.

Went back last night for big Carnival show. The place was mobbed and TERRIBLY hot. I guess Junior didn't learn from his early mistake at Estacao because with all the improvements, they didn't install air conditioning! At least not yet. I think they'll be forced to quickly (as at Estacao) because even the locals are complaining - and leaving, as I did quickly (and I'm also used to a tropical climate). Yes, I recognized most of the boys, not much new talent, but very nice talent, nontheless.

It began pouring just before I left and water was cascading through the light INSIDE front entry. A little scary.

It's up two flights of canopied steps to the front entry. Big locker room(s) off reception. First floor bar, large seating area and stage plus "showoff" shower, small reading & TV room (the only cool room in the place), a smaller version of the Lagoa porn J/O room (the HOTTEST of the rooms - pure pun) and upstairs sauna, steam, showers to one side, cabines to the other which I can't describe because I didn't want THAT kind of sweaty sex. All that I could see is very clean and well done modern. It still baffles me with Edgar and Junior, with all their smarts, that they didn't but A/C in from the getgo.

But I promise that's NOT ruining my trip!!!!! More later.

RE: What you see . . . is not always what you get!

Let me give you my opinion re 202. I was in rio from 2/20 to 2/26/03 and went there four nights.

the facility - very clean, modern, bright, spacious. But, being 54, I kind of like a "darker" sauna because it reminds me of the 70's and 80's in NYC and i find it sexier. However, there are many tables for patrons to sit off the bar and I spent most of my time at one. Both Rogers and Estacao are short on tables. It is easy to cruise all comings and goings from the tables. Did not see any show. The bar staff is very very attentive and service excellent. You can sit at the table quite comfortably in towel or street clothes.

the boys - there were always a few I found quite attractive but it is slower than Estacao or 117 especially since the place is so huge. But the quality of boy is there. Even arranged with a maintenance man

who was very hot to do a hotel overnight. WOW. Yes, there is SOME overlap between the saunas and the boys. not a lot but SOME. It will never be my number one sauna unless things change drastically but yet I like it and will stop in twice a week while I am in Rio.

it is too damn hot. No doubt about this.I think AC is in the works. i think that having three saunas all within a few blocks lessens the business that 202 will be able to do. but since Rogers was about to close this may have already changed. Is rogers still open guys?? I think Junior would be well advised to offer clients who go to 202 and estacao a special rate if they use both facilities in one evening.

My ranking based on feb 20 to 26 is as follows:

Number One Club 117 from 7 PM on

Two Estacao from 9 PM on there is a slow period from 7 to 9

Three Rogers (if it is still open) Few guys, but hot!!

four Point 202 (but almost as good as rogers)

Everyone I spoke to had nothing extrordinary to say about spa 73 so I have never gone.

In regards to the selection of men that is being currently debated -

I am totally enthralled with Rio and this is my fourth trip since Nov 2002. The boys vary from nice looking to out of this world drop dead. Dicks size vary (10% average US size) and 90% larger than I almost ever encounter. There is no doubt in my mind that Rio is close to a sexual paradise.

I personally do not like any of the clubs during the time period a show is going on - it takes away from "the shopping". This may not be true of 202 however, since I did not experience a show.

Hope this helps you. I am sure that things will change as rogers closes and the times I mention as best will vary - but this gives you some sort of guide.

RE: What you see . . . is not always what you get!

Thank you - its nice to get some details finally. How did prices at the bar compare with other saunas? What is their golden suite? Did you see it?

Was there a house massuer (like in spa73 - non sexual)?

Did any of the boys try to hustle more money?

Are the tariffs posted as you go in?

RE: What you see . . . is not always what you get!

driver,

I don't usually look at the items on my bill - just whether it is in the range so I can not compare bar prices with the other saunas BUT

the other guys I was with (Frank2talk, floridarob, robbguy, etc) never made any comment re the price of drinks and I think one or two of them would have made some mention.

I think there was a house masseur pointed out to me but I dont remember the details. Usually i use Juan carlos from rogers. did not go the the golden suite but found the others large, clean, well designed, etc....

No problem with boys charging more than the program of 50R but i would say that since business was somewhat slow for them, they would have been glad to just get their usual and customary money. Much flashing of bountiful endowments around the large show and bar-lounge area to induce the clients to get hiring. always be clear up front and state you will only pay 50R + tip for good service. Do not ask what they charge just whether this is what they will accept.

The entrance charge varied when i checked out four different times. Once i was VIP'd, twice charged as a client, and once as a program boy. You will recognize one of the bartenders as a former Estacao boy, one of the sweetest and nicest - Samuel. Again, the maintenance man who went back to my hotel was WOW!!!!.

Just a word of caution (this has been said many times before) - while at Corujina ( Jabbas, Yellow Awning) one of my buddies took home a boy from the sidewalk - a very sweet, smiley, friendly, guy who the waiters said was OK. He was NOT - and went wacko back in the hotel 10 minutes into the program. DO NOT TRUST YOUR INSTINCT. I FELT THAT THIS KID WAS TOTALLY SAFE, NON THREATENING AND WOULD NEVER CAUSE A PROBLEM. HE WAS ALMOST A LITTLE EFFEMINATE LOOKING. I WAS TOTALLY WRONG AND YOU CAN NOT DEPEND ON THE WAITERS FOR RELIABLE INFO.

I saw no menu of tariffs when i entered 202 to my recollection.

You will like the totally glassed in well lit showers the boys use which is visible from the lounge area. For elderly clients, there are many steps to the front door.

Even though there was no AC, the lounge tables are cooled by many fans if you choose the right one.

For more information than you might really want to know - there is another previously unmentioned benefit to the Atlantico. I went to Rio not knowing anyone who was going to be there and within 36 hours had a bunch of great buddies to pal with and eat with. We went to the sauna togethor, shared cabs, and even hired an escort for the afternoon who serviced more than one room and had lunch with us on the rooftop terrace. I've stayed at the Copacabana Palace, but would not stay anywhere other than the Atlantico because of all the added perks, the price, and the great camraderie as well as proximity to all three saunas. For those who have safety concerns (I don't) you have a very good chance of pre-announcing your trip on this board and hooking up with 2 to 5 other posters - there is safety in numbers.

Hope this helps you.

Yes, Gulliver, I like your idea about the benefits of hanging out with some other visitors to this board when in Rio- for lots of reasons. In that regard I hope that some readers might choose to visit again when I'm making my first visit in late July and early August. Not liking hot weather, or even the beach that much, these "winter" weeks seem ideal to me. Judging by all the comments about the heat in the saunas (temperature, I mean) I'd guess many guys would appreciate the warm but comfortable weather then. Apart from the sauna scene, I'm also looking forward to experiencing the culture and music of Brazil. Salvador also sounds like a great place to visit for a while; is there a sauna scene there?

Guys, this has been posted several times and is in the archives from last Oct. but to reiterate!!! Don't ever take "street" boys back to your hotel!! EVER! Take the boys from the Saunas, no problem, I have done it many times, but two other guys I know who picked up a street boy from in front of Corujo's and from Maxims's both had the same problems as Gullivers' friend. Also, ask the regular boys at the saunas, if you are not sure about the boys you may want for an overnight that are there, I have found them very honest about it. When I mentioned to the boys at Estacio and 117 what happened, they all went, "oh never take street boys, very bad!!!" My last time in Rio in October, i had boys stay every night, they were all from one of the three suanas, and it was great. The street boys in front of the restaurants, are ok to look at, sit with while you eat/drink, and ok if you go to a sex motel, and you are only carrying your fee for them and even then, I wouldn't do them!! I think I know and believe me I have tried!! Why would anyone want to pick up one of the dangerous street hustlers, when you can't possibly work your way through all the boys in the suanas...believe I have tried and it's not possible..but i keep trying..LOL I never saw any street guys that were better then the guys in the saunas and you don't need to worry about not being able to find ones there that will take care of you if you want to do an overnight with them. Again guys, don't leave your "street smarts" back in the states when you go to Brazil, it is a great, fun place with great guys(there are 5 I coorespond with regularly via email)if you don't take foolish chances!

I will be there April 10th for my 5th trip in 18 months and I am as excited this time as the first!

RE: What you see . . . is not always what you get!

Did I miss them? Where are all those facts and useful tidbits of information in IamToxic's latest "dropping" here? It seems utterly devoid of any.

It's disappointing, but not altogether surprising, that there seem to be some construction/design flaws at Point 202, as described by Jake and gulliver. Construction/remodeling is an unpredictable process in Brazil (not that it's so predictable in the U.S.!) and rarely goes as planned. It sounds like some of the flaws described are the kind of things you only discover after the contractor leaves (like the water running through the light) or didn't have time to complete in the rush to get open before Carnival (like the lack of a/c).

Considering how recently it opened, I'm sure Point 202 is in its shake-down period. Once the Carnival crowds are gone, there'll be time to fix problems discovered since the opening. Knowing what a perfectionist Edgard (owner of Lagoa) is, I'm sure Point 202 will be subject to continuing improvements.

I'll be in Rio for three months starting March 21, so I'll have a chance to visit the place for myself and also see if flaws are being repaired.

And once as a program boy!

I cant believe it.

So this is how you are financing your trips to Brazil.

I know you have a cute butt...but dont you think this is taking advantage of the situation.

On the other hand, its a great idea...sheer genius.

Who is better equipped in providing the services of a rent boy than those of us who spend most of our vacation time in brazil with rent boys.

By the way, how big is your...well you know what i mean.

Weve got to make sure Mavica doesnt get too upset...and well, im not a size queen...and your visa says tourist on it.

But heck this business is sheer pleasure.

I will definitely look for you on my next trip to 202....youre the one with the really light skin...and the cute butt.

Way to go...and thanks for all the wonderful posts!

:D
