Thanks to all of our more experienced travelers, we "first timers" are busy trying to gather all the wisdom we can. But where are the archives? I can't find them. I've found "search" where I can type in "Rio Saunas" or something like that; is this the best we can do? Thanks.

NeedTraining, although I have used the archives in the past, the computer format has changed, and it is difficult for me, too, to seek out what I want. In answer to your question, I clicked on search and typed in Brazilian saunas; I got a variety of topics plus a few that related to what I wanted. I am quite sure that more responses will come you way from some of our more astute computer-minded respondents. You perhaps could email Mavica, using this form/profile info. and ask him how he procured the archives; he wrote an interesting assessment/report here today (It's 6:45PST as I word process this.). He alluded to the fact that he has read all of the info/material in the archives rather extensively.

I wish you the best, for I have to go back into the 'ives to reacquaint myself before 26 February, the day I leave for Rio.

The default for the system is to only show the topics that have had activity for the last month. You can change the default at the expense of speed. Here's how:

Look for the link near the top labled: "Listing topic from last one month" and click it. That'll take you to your user option pages. The second blocks down is labeled: "Date Limit", change the limit to "All available". Now scroll down to the end of the page and click "Update".

Go back to the forum, and notice now that you have LOTS more messages, but that it takes longer to download

Thanks "d." I appreciate the help.

I followed your steps and was able to go as far back as December 2001. Is this the best I can do?

RE: "Where Art Thou... Archives?"

The best intro to the Brazil saunas is in the Escort Reviews link at the top of the page. Click on Mexico/South America at the lower left. Then scroll down to "Brazilian Saunas."

That is where I started my research.

I went to Rio and Salvador in July and loved it so much I'm going back in April. }(

RE: "Where Art Thou... Archives?"

Thanks D and CT. Oh, a July traveler... that's when I'll be making my first visit to Brazil- into early August. What's the scene and weather like in "winter?" Different than here in New England I bet!

RE: "Where Art Thou... Archives?"

August is one of the cooler months, 65 - 70 night time, and 72 - 80 daytime, with a chance of showers, I was there in early Aug. this past year. I prefer the April to Oct. times, as there is less humidity and heat. I have been there twice in Oct, April and Aug. and all were great. I would have to say April/May are my favorite as daytime is 82 or so, much less humidiy then Dec - Mar. and very little chance of showers.
