Back from a 10 day stay in Rio. Here are some news (hope it's really "new") you could find interesting.

 

Saunas : I've been told that a new sauna will open in december, on Siqueira Campos street. It can be best described as Lagoa 2 ("Lagoa" is the king of all saunas in Sao Paulo) : it will have four levels (including a gym, a swimming pool and a restaurant). BTW, its name could be "Lagoa 2" (same management as Lagoa from SP) but I am not sure ...

Metro : in december too, a new metro station will open on Siqueira Campos street. It will make it even easier to go from Copacabana to Club 117 (metro Gloria) in a jiffy. A return ticket ( "um duplo") costs 1.98 R$. Their metro is incredibly clean, safe (even at night)and reliable. I never could understand why so many turists take a taxi to go there : it's slower, and much more expensive.

Hotel : I can recommend a very good hotel in Rio : "Santa Clara Flat" on Santa Clara street (close to Roger's and Estaçâo, close to the upcoming metro station Siqueira Campos, and no more than 10 minutes from the beach).

For only 130 R$ per night (maybe more during Christmas and Carnaval), you'll have a large living-room, a bedroom, a kitchen and a bathroom. It's very clean and well furnished. The staff is open-minded. You can bring a friend during day-time : no objection. If you want him to stay overnight, you will be charged 20 R$ (the price of a "cabine" in a sauna for one hour).

Restaurant (already discussed here): "A Corujinha" (Little Owl)is a good place to take a drink with friends or eat something. A perfect place to make a date too, for all boys in Rio know this venue. Each time I went there I met guys who are working in the saunas. But be careful of the street hustlers who operate arond the restaurant. It is definitely not a good idea to bring back one of them to your hotel.

It is unfortunate that you and another party here seem to thrive on attempting to humiliation, denegration, rudeness, etc..........

Ax, thank you. I am glad to have one reader. Better than none.

 

I never shared anything very private here. I don't feel at ease to do that. Besides, publishing a list of my prefered boys wouldn't help much a visitor. A place like Club 117 is so crowded !
