Departing in a few days for three weeks around Brazil

and, as a Brazil virgin, this board has been invaluable.

My search turned up some references to condoms being

no problem -- provided at the saunas, along with lub,

and easy to buy elsewhere. BUT, I'm wondering...

-- Is the lub water-based KY type?

-- Is cream, not oil, an option for massages?

-- Are the Brazilian condoms very strong?

-- Are there any size "issues" (too small for

them and/or too big for many tourists)?

Thanks again!

:-) Billy

p.s.

I'm asking partly because in Thailand,

some massage places use tons of oil but

then provide latex condoms, plus condoms

made there do not have a great reputation.

Billy-- before I ventured to Brazil in October of this year, I was advised (by men on this board) to take your own condoms to use as well as give away as gifts. When I was there, I took my own condoms and lube into the cabines for the boys to use; they were XXL or MAXX; the guys loved them. Apparently they're stronger and fit comfortably.

One respondent here stated that he gave an escort a doz. as a gift.

My suggestion is the same as given to me: take your own condoms and lube and use eagerly and delightfully. Give some rubbers away as gifts of appreciation if you're with someone more than once inside as well as outside of the saunas.

Condoms and lube are provided at the saunas; I didn't inquire as to whether the latter was water soluable or oil, for the answer to this is written above.

HAVE A BLAST, MAN!:9 :*

The standard brands of condoms in Brazil are fine, as far as strength and safety go. One of the biggest brands is Jontex, made by Johnson & Johnson. XL condoms are now manufactured and sold in Brazil by another major manufacturer whose name I forget, but I don't know how easy they are to find. I assume the saunas don't buy the highest price condoms, but I've never heard of any particular problems with them, except that they're the standard size and are kind of small for some of these guys!

KY is sold in Brazil. However, if you have a favorite lube, it's a good idea to take it with you. It can't hurt to bring enough XL condoms and small travel-sized bottles of lube with you. You can carry them to the sauna in a nice discreet grocery bag or tuck them in a fanny pack. XL condoms and lube do make fun gifts for the guys you like. The guys I've given them to seemed to appreciate them a lot. (I gave a box with 1 dozen, and a travel-size bottle of lube.)
