For those going to Rio who'd also like to spend a few days in Buenos Aires, I got a flash from http://www.decolar.com that RT excursion fares from Rio to BA are as low as US$197!!!

 

The Decolar site is in Portuguese and doesn't accept non-Brazilian credit cards for airfares, but it's a good way to get an idea of fares being offered in Brazil. Chances are you can get the same fare from a travel agent in Rio once you get there, or perhaps by calling the local office in the country where you live of the airline offering the fares. But it's usually possible to get good deals once you're in Brazil. Even if there are restrictions, travel agents seem to have a way of getting them waived. The airlines would rather fill the seats than have them leave empty, I guess!

So if I buy a Delta ticket from NYC for $388, we then have to stop in Atlanta to pick up the folks paying $448? Those airlines are always good for a chuckle!:-)
