Ended up this evening having a look at the Ag. Apollus website, at http://www.agapollus.com/index2.htm. New and improved, with understandable English! And gentlemen, there's a generous selection on offer, with many FREE and accessible photos. There should be something for everyone on the site! Being dimensionally obsessed, I vote for Bruce and Márcio, but there are a number of other possibilities on the site. The only flaw is that it doesn't explicitly say which escorts are in Rio and which are in SP. However, those with a (21) area code are in Rio; those with an (11) area code are in São Paulo.

Tri: You have been a great promoter of brazilian saunas and their boys. You said that the great reason to go to saunas is that each one can see the guys directly and select the one (or two, or three?) you prefer.

However I would like to know if an appointment with an escort through an agency, like Apollos, is quite safe and reliable. I guess the boy has be registered at front desk before, and one is charged for an extra guest at the hotel. But besides that, it worths to contact an agency? There so many hot guys in their sites...:p

I used Apollus once. The owner is a very nice, helpful and apparently totally reliable guy whose name, I think, is Alexander. He has a studio/office in an office building on Copacabana Ave. and is most anxious to please in answering any questions or, I believe, bringing his "book" to you. His english is excellent which is the exception with agencies. The guy I hired was OK and a really nice guy - not good enough or bad enough to take the time to review. Although I'm tempted by a few of the different agencies' pictures, by far my best luck to date has been in the saunas.

The saunas work well for me, and also for most foreign visitors who don't speak Portuguese, because you really only have to point and choose. You can also see exactly what you're getting right on the spot.

Nevertheless, there are some very attractive guys advertising in the websites, or who are available through agencies. However, it's difficult for someone who doesn't speak Portuguese to make the arrangements for an escort by phone. At some agencies, like Apollus, someone on staff can speak English, or perhaps Spanish or Italian, in which case it's possible to use their services.

I haven't used Apollus myself, although after drooling over Bruce's pictures I think I will on my next visit! Some members of this site have used Apollus and reported favorably on their experiences, like Jake. The owner is apparently eager to please.

As long as you can communicate well enough, there's no reason not to use the agencies if they have a guy you like. Also, the agencies may be better for setting up longer-term or overnight stays, if that's what you prefer.

As other members of the site have said, in many hotels you can have a "guest" to your room. They have to register and leave their ID at the desk, which won't give it back to them until they've called your room to ask if everything is OK and if it's all right to let your "guest" leave. Otherwise, you can go with a date from an agency to a "motel." They're designed for sex, with porno movies, mirrored walls/ceilings, in-room saunas and/or jacuzzis in the better suites, etc. They aren't all that expensive, and it's possible to stay just for an hour or two or overnight. The nicer motels offer room service, too, in case you get hungry or want breakfast. Your companion will know how it all works.

Enjoy yourself, whatever you do!

This updated site is great; I encountered it last week and went to it again to peruse the photos and particulars. I too am interested in seeking the services of Bruce, but do you think he is straight8 or gay-for-pay? I'm curious and will contact Apollus when I get to Rio and Sao Paulo; ...also liked Lucca and Marcio.

What does "NOTIONS" mean after language? If language is not listed, does that mean the man only communicates in Portugese?

Tks Tri for your advise. All your posts are very useful and positives.

I've been in Brazil several times and it was not difficult at all to speak succesfuly in "portunhol". Maybe is a little harder by phone, but not impossible.

It's a pitty that Lucca lives in Sao Paulo and not in Rio. He looks terrific.

I will abuse with another question: are those sex-motel located in Copacabana or Ipanema, where I suppose to be lodged? Easy to find and safety?

Tks again

Hi -

A quick question. I'll be staying at the Marriott. Do you have any idea if the rule about guests is the same at the Marriott?

I've stayed at Marriotts in many, many places and have never had anyone question any person who I brought to my room. But perhaps the rules in Brazil are different?

Thanks for the info; it's all been invaluable.

The fact that Bruce is listed as for men, women and couples and does not do oral even with a condom (and most of the escorts do oral without a condom - even the basically straight ones - and do it well), strongly suggests that he is straight and gay-for-pay. Do not let this bother you as this is true for the great majority and you'll be hard pressed to know the difference in the sack. THESE GUYS ARE GOOD, and it's the true exception that has any attitude whatsoever. But check with the owner - and the more I think about it, the more sure I am that his name is Alexander. Also "notions" after a language listing means that they know a few words. Trust us all who have been there, you're fears and self-consciousness will disappear in no time flat.

I've never stayed at the Marriott, but it's probably like most nice hotels in Rio. The more the guy looks like trade, the less likely he is to get in. If he's dressed decently, has shaved and combed his hair, and especially if he knows some Enlgish, it shouldn't be a problem. Never was at the Copa Palace. Hope this helps.

Later.

RE: Motels

Last evening I gave a thorough reading of all forums regarding Brasil. This site has been previously listed; I read and copied and will use, for I agree with you: THIS IS A GREAT SITE, especially for a neophyte like me.

Tri has listed some great sites in forums six or seven or eight, if there is an eight. One is very gay focused; I again copied all pages which I can and plan to use within a few weeks from now!

Note http://www.gay-rio.com. This site gives you: Rio Basics, Crash Course (in the language), Bars & Clubs, What to Do, Getting Off, AIDS Info., FAQ, Links, and Contact Us.

THANKS to you, man CT and to Tri as well as the other men --TomCal, Jake who've been there and who have given us who have yet to go to Brasil some very, very, very valuable information as well as insights!

Re: Sex hotels (motels)

A Brazilian friend highly recommended one in Copacabana which is owned by a couple of gay guys. I can't remember the name and haven't (yet) tried it, but it's on the corner of R. Ronald de Calvarho and R.

Viveiros de Castro, a block-and-a-half from the beach and two-or-three blocks south of Princess Isabella. A charming looking place, low white stucco with wood trim and attractive landscaping. (And a few doors from where Bruno Gaucho lives!) It's the southeast corner.

A site in Portuguese that's based in Rio is http://www.netgay.com.br. Click on Hotéis/Motéis in the menu bar for listings. Most convenient will be the places located in Ipanema or Copacabana. I've also used the Hostal on Gomes Freire, downtown. There's a typo, though. Hostal is at Gomes Freire, 151. There are several others on the same street, some of which are listed on Netgay. So far it doesn't list the place Jake mentions. If anyone uses it, please post a review with the name and address!

If you meet Bruce or Márcio, pleeeeze let me know how it went! Even if Bruce is gay-for-pay, he's, um, interesting! :p If he kisses, he can be as "straight" as he wants to be!

RE: Agencia Apollus - Big Bruce

I just Called the Engish speaking guy on the Apollus web site to find out about the rates for Caique and I was quoted US$90 for 2 hrs in my Hotel, thats a little steep, is this how much Apollus charges or did they see me comming ? What should I be paying ?

That seems to be their standard price. For two hours I'd consider it a fair price. Half an hour (roughly the standard length of a trick) at the baths runs roughly US$20. So it works out. Plus you get the advantage of an English-speaker to set things up for you. You gets what you pays for! :-)

...went to the site a day or so ago. ...wrote in its book and asked about Bruce, Leandro, and Marcio. ...asked if they kissed.

Yesterday or the day before, I received an email where the answerer stated that both Bruce and Leandro kissed-- Marcio a little. The rates quoted were $80 for ninety minutes. That was the gist of the email message. I think I am going to do it if the rates are in this range or lower.

Got an e-mail from Alex (the owner of Apollus) saying he's in SP recruiting more talent. It's a hard job, but someone's gotta do it! :9

Bruno Gaúcho lovers should check out the Apollus site for a new addition, Caique. Kinda the bad boy version of Bruno. I'm not clear, though, where he's located -- he's listed under SP, but in his webpage it says Belo Horizonte. If that's the case, I can see a stampede starting there. . .
